In this paper the aspect of collaboration on articles (n = 3017) in scientific journals (n = 384) was analysed, in the field of educational sciences of authors from 15 post- -socialist countries in the period from 1996 to 2019. The quantitative data was derived from the base Scopus, and they were complemented with structural interviews conducted with 10 scientists. The purpose of the research is to describe the co-authorship of the addressed groups of scientists and to determine the repercussions of the published articles in the scientific community. The results warn about insufficient representation of international co-authorships and about the low representation of authors from post-socialist countries in internationally relevant journals, which reflects on their low citation and visibility in a wider scientific community.

This study aims to explore the associations between descriptive normative beliefs (DNB), alcohol use and negative consequences and test whether self-regulation (SR) moderates this relationship. The data was collected online from 1621 first-year university students in the Czech Republic, Hungary, Lithuania and Slovakia. The AUDIT, self-regulation questionnaire and questions regarding DNB were used. DNB were found to be positively associated with drinking across all the samples. The associations between DNB and alcohol use as well as between alcohol use and negative consequences were stronger among students with lower SR. The protective effect of SR on alcohol use and consequences combined with the theory of social influence may improve intervention accuracy and make it a promising target for intervention among young adults.

The aim of this study was to determine the level of anxiety and depression and the intensity of pain in patients with chronic non-malignant pain, the correlation of catastrophizing with these factors, and the interaction of a multidisciplinary program for the treatment of chronic pain and the level of catastrophizing, anxiety, depression and pain intensity. The study was conducted on a sample of 44 participants aged 32 to 80 years who participated in the multidisciplinary program for chronic pain management at the Institute for Pain Management of the Clinical Medical Center Osijek. Pain intensity was measured using the Visual Analog Scale (VAS); the Depression, Anxiety and Stress Scale (DASS-21) was used to measure anxiety and depression; while catastrophizing was measured using the Pain Catastrophizing Scale (PCS). There was a moderate positive correlation between anxiety, depression, and pain intensity in patients with chronic non-malignant pain; a positive correlation between anxiety, depression, pain intensity, and catastrophic factors; and a reduction of anxiety, depression, pain intensity and catastrophization at the end of a multidisciplinary chronic pain treatment program. The findings contribute to a better understanding of the relation between emotional distress, cognitions and pain intensity in patients with chronic non-malignant pain.

This paper aims to establish a comprehensive and easily operationalizable conceptual framework for explorations of the collaborative economy (CE). While the phenomenon has attracted increasing attention among businesses, customers, politicians/regulators, and researchers, a widely accepted conceptualization still does not exist. In the present study the CE accommodates for-profit and/or not-for-profit exchange of products that are: a) temporarily provided to others (i.e. shared) by their owners when the assets are under-utilized; b) shared occasionally i.e. up to a certain extent; c) shared by amateurs/ non-professionals when having a professional license is mandatory; and d) shared via on-line platforms. If all the requirements are (simultaneously) fulfilled, shared products embrace both goods and services and sharing providers embrace both individuals (e.g., P2P) and organizations (e.g., B2P). The proposed framework is discussed in the context of the CE key "surrounding" concepts – the on-demand economy, gig economy, second-hand & circular economy, and rental economy.

The aim of this research was to examine the mediating role of teacher–pupil interaction in the relationship of temperament to self-esteem and school success among year-7 and year-8 elementary-school pupils in Croatia and Bosnia & Herzegovina (B&H). The assumptions on the contribution of the dimensions of temperament (self-control and negative affectivity) and teacher–pupil interaction (influence and proximity) in explaining pupils' self-esteem and school success were partially confirmed. Similar relationships among the measured variables were confirmed in both samples of pupils. Self-control, negative affectivity, and teacher proximity directly predicted self-esteem, while self- -control indirectly predicted self-esteem through teacher proximity. Self-control and teacher proximity contributed directly to school success, and the indirect contribution of self- -control to school success through teacher proximity was also significant. The results of this research indicate the importance of the direct contribution of children's temperaments to their self-esteem and school success, and of its indirect contribution through the quality of the interaction with their teacher.

In the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic, there have been varied responses to public health officials' recommendations about wearing face masks as a means to slow the spread of the virus. This study, by using Twitter data, aims to explore the role of digital technology in facilitating public conversations and formulating public perception regarding face masks during the COVID-19 pandemic in two contrasting contexts: the U.S. and South Korea. From January 1, 2020 to April 14, 2020, a total of 22,928 users generated 27,501 tweets regarding face masks in the U.S. network, whereas 17,267 users produced 18,686 tweets in that of South Korea. The results of the semantic network analysis shed light on Americans' initial resistance to wearing masks as well as Koreans' willingness to comply. Details of the results are discussed further in the paper. With real-time data aggregation, this study gives insight into the rising controversy regarding wearing face masks during COVID-19 while providing implications for health officials designing strategic communication messages.
