Bacidina ferax was described by Stefan Ekman in 2023, particularly basing on the collections from the North-East of the European Russia (Komi Republic). Herewith, B. ferax is reported for the first time for the Middle European Russia – from the Nizhny Novgorod Region. A complete morphological description, including the characters, distinguishing B. ferax from the related species, in Russian is given; its distribution range is characterized. The obtained results make a valuable contribution to the knowledge of the global distribution range of B. ferax. The specimens from Kerzhensky Nature Reserve are kept in the lichenological herbarium of the Komarov Botanical Institute (LE L, Saint- Petersburg), duplicate – in the herbarium of the Altai State University (ALTB, Barnaul). The matter of presence of Sisymbrium orientale in the flora of Middle Asia long known in the region based on the single gathering from Turkmenistan is clarified. Occurrence of the species in the latter country is not confirmed because of incorrect identification of relevant collection which belongs to S. septulatum. At the same time, S. orientale is a novelty for the region based on its recent (2023) finding in Uzbekistan first reported here. Alien character of the gathering is proposed and further spread of the species in the Middle Asia is assumed. Copy Translate Copy Translate

The name Fritillaria leucantha is usually considered as one of the synonyms of F. verticillata. However, morphological data indicate that this judgment should be reconsidered. In this article, we typify the name F. leucantha, provide its taxonomic history, and provide a detailed description. Based on our review and other data, we determine the species’ range to be within Altai. In parallel with this, a solution to the emerging issue of choosing the type material of F. verticillata is proposed. Copy Translate Copy Translate

The proposed article provides data on two species new to Kazakhstan (Phaeocalicium ahtii (Titov et Baibul.) Titov and Libertella rosae Desm.) and a rare micromycete (Schwarzmannia goebeliae Pisareva). Phaeocalicium ahtii is a facultative saprotroph found in Kazakhstan in the Central Tien Shan on the territory of the Terskey Alatau ridge, at an altitude of 2277 m above sea level, on the branches of Lonicera stenantha Pojark. The species is a climatic endemic, on the territory of Kazakhstan its preservation as a rare species with a limited range (category 3 (R)) can be ensured by its inclusion in the Red Book of the Almaty region and the protection of its natural habitat. Micromycete Libertella rosae, saprotroph, quite widespread in the Northern hemisphere, in Kazakhstan found in the southern tip of the Dzungarian Alatau, at an altitude of 1108 m above sea level, on the branches of Spiraea sp. In the territory with a hot and dry climate, Libertella rosae was also noted in the foothill plain of the Central Kopetdag, in the Central Botanical Garden of Ashgabat. The rare parasitic species Schwarzmannia goebeliae is endemic to Kazakhstan, found in the foothills of the Malaysary ridge, and in the swampy area between the Charyn and Ili rivers, at an altitude of 514–655 m above sea level, on the leaves of Pseudosophora alopecuroides (L.) Sweet. The genus Schwarzmannia Pisareva includes two species, S. goebeliae and S. ammodendri. Currently, genomic sequence data are absent, so the taxonomic position of the genus is uncertain. Rubus sikkimensis Hook. f. is an endemic species of eastern Himalaya, described from Sikkim by J. D. Hooker in 1849. Since then, the species was never collected from India until its rediscovery from Sikkim in 2019 after a gap of 170 years. Another collection from Tawang, Arunachal Pradesh, India, made by the author in 2021, is reported here as a new distributional record. A detailed description of the species with lectotype designation, photographs, and comparison with allied species are provided to facilitate its easy identification. Copy Translate Copy Translate

Analysis of chloroplast DNA sequences revealed a high polymorphism of the length and nucleotide composition of trnF–trnV and the intron trnL for Helmia section species of the genus Astragalus (Fabaceae). Molecular genetic studies of Astragalus species of the Helmia section were previously practically not carried out; sequencing of trnF–trnV and the intron trnL of chloroplast DNA for 7 species of the section, as well as the probable intersection hybrid Astragalus arcanus held for the first time. On the basis of genetic studies, clarified the relationship between species included in the section Helmia. The possible stages of sect. Helmia evolution are discussed. The taxonomic isolation of Astragalus permiensis has been confirmed; it is assumed not to be of Uralic, but of Siberian or Central Asian origin. Astragalus ionae belongs to the section Helmia is confirmed. Astragalus depauperatus s. l. is thought to be a complex of twin species. In this article, one of them is considered in the status of the species A. chakassiensis. Copy Translate
