In the course of field research and review of materials stored in the herbarium fund of the National Park “Krasnoyarskie Stolby”, information was clarified on the distribution of rare species of higher plants in the protected areas in the basins of the Mana and Bazaikha rivers. For the first time, 1 species (Lemna gibba) and 1 hybrid (Potamogeton × salicifolius) of higher aquatic plants were recorded for the Krasnoyarsk Territory. New localities of species rare for the south of the Krasnoyarsk Territory (Potamogeton × nitens, Utricularia macrorhiza, Hydrilla verticillata) are presented. 13 taxa were new for the flora of the National Park “Krasnoyarskie Stolby”: Typha laxmannii, Potamogeton alpinus subsp. tenuifolius, P. berchtoldii, P. friesii, P. gramineus, P. natans, P. trichoides, Stuckenia filiformis, S. vaginata, Elodea canadensis, Ranunculus kauffmanii, Utricularia minor, Galium mollugo. Two rare species were found to have new localities: Ceratophyllum demersum, Equisetum variegatum, and the locality of Lemna trisulca, a very rare species for the territory of the protected area, was confirmed.

Dianthus × belkinii (Caryophyllaceae), a new hybrid taxon from Altai

Dianthus × belkinii is an intersectional hybrid newly described from the Republic of Altai (Talduair massif). This taxon was also noted in Mongolia (Bayan-Ulegei aimag). The article describes the morphological features of the new taxon and discusses its relationship with parental species. The described hybrid has intermediate morphological features between the parental species, most notable are the fringed corollas. The stems are sparsely branched, relatively tall and similar to those of D. superbus. The calyx lobes and bracts are transitional between D. superbus and D. versicolor. The limb of the corolla is cut for ⅓–¼ of its length into a few lobes. Cytometry data showed an identical ploidy level of the new taxon and its putative parent species. The average value of the relative DNA content is almost intermediate, however, somewhat closer to D. versicolor. The ITS sequences of D. × belkinii show characteristic double peaks, which may point to a hybridogeneous origin of the plants. Identical chloroplast DNA sequences with D. versicolor but differences to D. superbus suggests that D. versicolor may be the maternal parent of this hybrid. Based on these polymorphisms, it is possible to state that the ITS sequence and D. versicolor × superbus itself are of a hybrid nature, where D. versicolor and D. superbus are the parent forms.

During the study of the lichen biota of Shikotan Island, Fissurina inabensis (Vain.) M. Nakan. et Kashiw. was identified on the basis of morphological and anatomical data. It is the first record to Russia both at a species and at genus level. The phylogenetic analysis based on the ITS sequences of the studied specimens supported the close relationship with F. insidiosa C. Knight et Mitt. belonging to the subfamily Fissurinoideae. A detailed description of the morphology, anatomy and secondary metabolites of the studied specimens is given. This species was previously known from Japan, Taiwan, and Thailand, and the area is extended to Shikotan Island where are the northernmost localities of the species. Detection of stictic acid might be variable depending on researchers because of the small amount of the substance. It was well detected using HPLC in this study. Differences in the number and size of ascospores in specimens from Shikotan Island and those from Japan described in the literature are discussed.

Adventive species in the flora of Tyva Tyva

Disturbance of natural ecosystems resulting from the economic development of any region leads to changes in the structure of the vegetation cover. At the beginning of the 21st century, about 70 adventive species were known on the territory of Tyva. To date, the presence of 117 species has been noted in the adventive flora of the region. Most of them are xenophytes, ergasiophytes (departed from culture) – 31 species. According to the degree of naturalization, ephemerophytes predominate – 73 species. The adventive flora of Tuva contains 41 species included in the “List of invasive and potentially invasive species of Siberia” (2014). In comparison with other Siberian regions, there are fewer invasive and potentially invasive species in Tyva, which is associated both with the natural and climatic conditions of the region and with the later economic development of the territory. The most vulnerable to the introduction of alien species were the northern and central regions of the republic, which are characterized by the highest degree of recreational pressure. On the contrary, the outlying territories of the republic, relatively remote from the Central Tuva Basin, are sufficiently protected from the invasion of adventive plants, where, when alien, mainly mesophytic, species are introduced into the flora, the harsh sharply continental climate acts as a limiting factor. The successful introduction of alien species on fallow lands is due to the weakening, up to complete destruction, of natural habitats and plant communities.

We have studied the genetic structure of Eversmannia subspinosa (Fisch. ex DC.) B. Fedtsch. populations from the Russian Federation (the Bolshoe Bogdo Mt., the Astrakhan Region; Kegul’ta gully, Republic of Kalmykia) and a number of specimens from the Middle Asia (Kazakhztan and Kyrgyzstan) using inter-simple sequence repeats (ISSR) markers, sequenced nuclear (ITS 1, 2) and chloroplast markers (trnL-trnF, atpB-rbcL, rpl32-trnL(UAG), trnV-ndhC). The analysis of ISSR markers divided samples into three genetic clusters: the population from the Bolshoe Bogdo Mt., the population from the Kegul’ta gully, and samples from the Middle Asia. The population from the Kegul’ta gully appeared to be genetically variable, whereas the population from the Bolshoe Bogdo Mt. exhibited no variation. Populations from the Bolshoe Bogdo and Kegul’ta are more closely related according to the results of the chloroplast DNA analysis. At the same time, these westernmost populations turned out to be related to the samples from the Western Tian Shan: Syr-Darya Karatau, Talas Alatau (Ichkele-Too Mts.) and Kyzylorda Region of Kazakhstan.

A new species of the genus Asplenium L. from northern Qinghai, A. delinghaense S. Q. Liang et X. C. Zhang, is described and illustrated here. This new species resembles A. iskardense Viane et Reichst., A. daghestanicum Christ, and A. neovarians Ching but differs in frond and perispore morphology. Molecular phylogenetic evidence supported the close relationship of A. delinghaense with members of the A. varians complex and the A. pekinense complex and indicated an allotetraploid origin of it.

The article presents new records for five alien species previously unknown from the flora of United Arab Emirates (UAE): Euphorbia cyathophora Murr. (Euphorbiaceae), Samolus valerandi L. (Myrsinaceae), Oldenlandia umbellata L. (Rubiaceae), Cardiospermum halicacabum L. (Sapindaceae), and Corchorus aestuans L. (Malvaceae s. l. / Tiliaceae). All of them have been recorded for the first time from the emirate of Fujairah in eastern part of the UAE. Euphorbia cyathophora, which is rare in the country, was found only in “Green Oasis Nursery” at Al Dibba town, Oldenlandia umbellata– found at the beginning of the seefront at Fujairah City, and they are new for the flora of the Arabian Peninsula. Samolus valerandi was found only in the “Desert Nurseries Group store 1 (palms)” at village Al Bidiya, Corchorus aestuans – in private nursery at Al Dibba town, and Cardiospermum halicacabum was found in the Masafi friday market, they are new for the flora of Fujairah and UAE. Accepted names, synonyms, spatial distribution, habitat preferences, and species taxonomy with remarks on identification and differentiation from the most similar taxa occurring in the study area, as well as the list of localities are presented. The herbarium materials were transferred to the Herbarium of the Komarov Botanical Institute (LE, Saint-Petersburg, Russia), the duplicates – to the Herbarium of Altai State University (ALTB, Barnaul, Russia) and the Scientific Herbarium of Fujairah (FSH, Wadi Wuraya national park, Fujairah, United Arab Emirates).

Nomenclature and typification of Actinidia kolomikta (Actinidiaceae)
IF 0.5 Q4 PLANT SCIENCES Pub Date : 2022-12-24 DOI: 10.14258/turczaninowia.25.4.10
T. Krestovskaya, I. Sokolova
The nomenclature and lectotypification of the name Actinidia kolomikta (Maxim.) Maxim. are discussed. The correct authorship and date of publication of its basionym is specified, namely Prunus kolomikta Maxim., 27 XI 1856. The currently known original material of Prunus kolomikta (≡ Actinidia kolomikta) is represented by 5 specimens all stored in the Herbarium of the Komarov Botanical Institute, St. Petersburg, Russia (LE). The specimen LE 01081775 is designated here as the lectotype of Prunus kolomikta, its duplicate LE 01081774 being cited as an isolectotype. The indication of the “holotype” and “isotypes” in the Tropicos database available on the Internet is shown to be erroneous.
