The mandatory requirement to work from home (WFH) during the pandemic has seen previous barriers to WFH (technology, productivity, face-to-face presence) tested and overcome. Indepth interviews with employers on their experience of managing WFH, before and during the almost three-year COVID-19 state of emergency in metropolitan Perth are reported. There has been a significant acceleration in the numbers of people who WFH part of the week and at the workplace the rest of the week. Changes to commuting patterns see employees spending more time in their local area, and changes in workspace needs have implications for future urban structure.

ABSTRACTUrban redevelopment in China has been the subject of heightened attention in urban governance research. Using the Jiuxing redevelopment in Shanghai as the case study, this study engages with the discursive construction of multiple actors under China’s pro-growth regime. The findings of this study include that (1) the municipal government-envisioned global city is the overarching discourse leading to the synergistic narratives of the coalition; (2) the actors created parallel narratives of the meaning of redevelopment based on their scalar positions; (3) through flexible narrative tactics, the capacity of a state-led multi-scalar coalition is enhanced for coordinating actions. KEYWORDS: Redevelopmentgovernancecoalitionnarrativeurban villageShanghai Disclosure StatementNo potential conflict of interest was reported by the author(s).Notes1 The “Big Four Brands” of Shanghai City Refers to “Service in Shanghai”, “Made in Shanghai”, “Shopping in Shanghai” and “Culture of Shanghai”, Which Symbolize Shanghai’s Core Competitiveness.2 A term refers to a series of illegal matters, including illegal land use, illegal construction, illegal operation, illegal sewage discharge and illegal residence. ABSTRACTAirport-related development raises important city-regional planning and governance issues. The paper examines the development of a new Chinese airport and associated changes in nearby cities. Ezhou Huahu Airport was initiated by one of China's largest delivery and logistics companies. The analysis focuses on the development patterns, growing visions, and changing governance around the airport as well as how the provincial government plays a crucial role in governing the airport region. Furthermore, the study highlights regional coordination manifested in various institutional forms, which warrants solid implementation through regional plans and regional institutions for dispute settlement. KEYWORDS: Aerotropolisairport regionregional coordinationcity-regional governanceChina AcknowledgementsThe authors thank the editor and anonymous reviewers for their comments and suggestions.
