Short videos have become an important medium to spread and promote the city image. Based on the visual narrative theoretical framework of multimodal discourse analysis, this paper selects three representative popular short videos related to Tiktok on the platform and analyzes the visual narrative meaning of short videos of the city image of Beijing from three levels: representation meaning, interaction meaning and composition meaning. The article focuses on various language forms in short videos, including text, images, music, etc., analyzing how these modalities are intertwined. The study found that these videos present the urban image of Beijing, which combines traditional and modern elements, a dream chasing city, and a sense of national pride and belonging. This provides reference for other cities to enhance their urban image in the dissemination of short videos.

With the marketing and dissemination of aberrant aesthetics such as "white, young and thin", "A4 waist" and "BM style" on social media, women's appearance anxiety has become an increasingly common phenomenon. This study takes the social media APP "Xiaohongshu" as an example to explore the relationship between social media use and female appearance anxiety, as well as the role of self-objectification, internalization of ideal beauty and comparison of appearance in the mechanism, using the questionnaire survey method and structural equation modeling to analyze the questionnaire data of 207 female Xiaohongshu users. The empirical results showed that (1) social media use has a positive effect on female appearance anxiety; (2) social media use affects female appearance anxiety through the chain mediation of ideal beauty internalization and appearance comparison; and (3) the mediating role of self-objectification between social media use and female appearance anxiety is not significant. As a result, this study further refines the mechanism of social media use on female appearance anxiety and suggests that correct aesthetic standards should be established to respect appearance diversity and resist trafficking in appearance anxiety.

In recent years, in order to adapt to the economic and social development and constantly adjust the fertility policy, the improvement of residents' fertility willingness has not reached the ideal level. The reason is that housing is necessary for life. The housing price, as the cost of living and the cost of raising children, has a very significant impact on the current residents' willingness to have children. According to the relevant literature, it can be seen that the influence of housing price on fertility intention is mostly analyzed from two aspects: crowding out effect and wealth effect. Therefore, this study relies on the micro-data of families in recent years to study the influence mechanism of housing prices on the fertility willingness of urban and rural residents. The results show that the housing price has a crowding out effect on the fertility willingness of urban and rural residents, that is, the higher the housing price, the lower the residents' fertility willingness, and other variables also have an impact on the fertility intention, such as gender, annual family income, etc. The housing price also has a wealth effect on the fertility willingness, that is, the higher the housing price, the higher the residents' willingness to reproduce.
