Dynamic suprascapular nerve neuropathy is a cause of shoulder pain and weakness that is often overlooked. The difficulty in diagnosing the nerve dynamic damages is conditioned by the fact that the symptoms are provoked by physical exertion(s) or a certain position of the limb due to compression and(or) overstretching as well as violations of the longitudinal and transverse sliding of the nerve. These symptoms subside when the provoking factor ceases to act and return when movements repeat. Neurologic examinations and nerve conduction studies performed at rest usually show no change. The suprascapular nerve dysfunction is closely related to rotator cuff pathology. The nerve damage is often caused by a dynamic microtrauma during repetitive arm movements over the head with maximum deflection and external rotation of the arm. Suprascapular neuropathy can be caused by the nerve compression or traction in the suprascapular notch or spinoglenoid region. The nerve damage in the suprascapular notch causes weakness in both the supraspinatus and infraspinatus muscles, while damage under the spinoglenoid ligament affects only the infraspinatus muscle. Diagnostics should include manual testing of the supraspinatus and infraspinatus muscles with a neutral position of the arm and neck of the patient being examined and during provocative neurodynamic tests of stretching the suprascapular nerve. Therapeutic measures should be directed to all interdependent components of the peripheral nervous system in the following sequence: osteopathic treatment of the nerve trunk interface (tissues surrounding the nerve trunk); osteopathic treatment of the innervated tissue; osteopathic treatment of the connective tissue of the suprascapular nerve.

94 patients with piriformis syndrome were examined. The description of clinical tests of piriformis syndrome used in manual therapy and instrumental research methods is carried out. The possibility of using ultrasound as a diagnostic technique for lesions of the piriformis muscle and sciatic nerve is noted. The combination of classical manual therapy and the use of medical blockades with dynamic ultrasound control is a therapeutic choice in patients with primary and secondary piriformis syndrome.

The number of scoliotic disorders in children of preschool and school age has grown almost sixteen times over the past decades. The article presents the results of the scoliotic disease correction by the method of the body systemic mobilization by foot in children aged 8-13 whose scoliotic disease has been initiated by idiopathic scoliosis. The predisposition to the disease is considered through the prism of the causes which originate in the prenatal (before birth) period and evolve in the postnatal (after birth) period of the body’s development.

The article highlights the study records on the influence of complex rehabilitation measures combined with the osteopathic treatment on the condition of patients who have had a transient ischemic attack. The study involved patients of both sexes aged 50-64 years, over the period from 3 to 10 days of inpatient treatment. It has been determined that, with the inclusion of osteopathic treatment in the complex of rehabilitation measures, the number of complaints in patients decreases, main Doppler indicators are normalized, and life quality improves.

The article discusses the main contradictions in movement training for children with perinatal pathology of the central nervous system by means of conservative methods. The resolution of these contradictions is proposed by creating the conditions under which the achievement of high-speed motor modes is ensured by different methodological measures affecting the biomechanical parameters of movements as well as the body’s energy and functional systems. The specified solution to this task using a biomechanical approach allows achieving high efficiency in the correction of motor development.

The article highlights the study records on the infl uence of comprehensive rehabilitation measures combined with osteopathic treatment on the balance function quality in children suff ering from cerebral palsy. The study involved children aged 7 to 12 with spastic diplegia (level II according to GMFCS), intact intelligence, and the ability to move independently without technical devices. The study showed that, if the osteopathic treatment was included in the set of rehabilitation measures, the quality of life and postural control in the upright position improved in children, the latter manifested itself in an increased indicator of the balance function quality.

The problem of ineff ective drug therapy of epilepsy continues to be relevant during many decades and determines many key research trends in clinical and fundamental epileptology. Despite the emergence of a large number of various antiepileptic drugs the eff ectiveness of drug therapy for epilepsy has remained almost unchanged over the past decades. In this article drug-resistance in epilepsy is considered as a consequence of a concomitant pathological process in the form of craniocerebral disproportion.
