With the rapid development of high-tech industries, the research perspective of industrial innovation has gradually evolved from the innovation system to innovation ecosystem. Whether the innovation ecosystem of China’s high-tech industry can achieve the benign evolution and development of the system under the new global pattern has become a real issue. Based on the perspective of the four-helix innovation model, in this study we construct an index system of the industrial innovation ecosystem development and designs a framework system of the industrial innovation ecosystem development capability, including the coordinated development capability, evolutionary development capability, and sustainable development capability at three levels. We construct measurement models of different capability dimensions and multi-dimensionally analyses of the regional development differences and change trends of each capability dimension of the system. The results show that the coordinated development capability of China’s high-tech industrial innovation ecosystem is poor, which inhibits the comprehensive capability of the system’s development to a certain extent. Although the evolutionary and sustainable development capabilities fluctuate greatly and have significant regional differences, they are measured at a better level and thereby contribute to the development of the system.

Countries of the EU are trying to create a single digital market. Therefore, this article aims to evaluate the current situation in the field of readiness of economic entities in Slovakia for challenges in the field of human capital management (HCM) when implementing digital technologies in their processes and to propose recommendations regarding the implementation of digital technologies. We used basic scientific methods and calculated Cronbach’s alpha, descriptive statistics, and the chi-square test to detect dependencies between variables. This article processes data from a questionnaire survey completed by managers or owners of economic entities in Slovakia. In 2020, we received answers from 905 respondents, and in 2021, our sample consisted of 561 respondents. The assumptions that the size of the entity and the prevailing ownership influence the use of digital technologies were also confirmed. Nowadays, many businesses recognize the importance of digitization as a strategic advantage to maintain competitiveness. As a result, current research aims to investigate three significant factors that influence digital transformation: digital innovation (DI), digital orientation (DO), and the accounting information system (AIS). These factors are supposed to impact the financial success and performance of firms. The objective of this study is to examine the positive association between digital orientation and financial performance (FP) and to explore how the AIS mediates this relationship. Additionally, this paper investigates the moderating role of digital innovation in the relationship between digital orientation and financial performance. To collect data, a quantitative method was employed using a random sampling technique. Data were collected via a questionnaire survey from small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in China, with a sample size of 550. Structural equation modeling (SEM) and a bootstrapping technique with 5000 iterations were used to test the study hypotheses. The findings of this study indicate a positive link between digital orientation and the financial performance of organizations. Furthermore, the results confirm that the AIS acts as a mediator between digital orientation and financial performance. The outcomes also demonstrate that digital innovation plays a moderating role in the relationship between DO and financial performance. This paper contributes to the existing literature on digital transformation by providing a deeper understanding of the aforementioned antecedents of the digital revolution (DO, AIS, and financial performance) and how they should be integrated within digitalization settings to achieve financial performance.

Smart manufacturing systems enable simultaneous addressing of productivity, sustainability, and social improvements. The implementation of such systems in industries such as the automotive industry represents a promising way to meet stakeholders’ requirements concerning the decarbonization of their productive activities. In fact, this task is truly challenging for the automotive industry considering their complex organizational issues, generating knowledge sharing problems, and the diversity of plants’ context and characteristics. These facts make any decarbonization solution local, instead of being spread to a maximum of production units to potentially enhance decarbonization time efficiency. This article tackles these issues by providing a new organizational concept dealing with the relationships between decarbonization actors (energy managers and consultants) supported by the technical design of an IT knowledge management tool. These contributions will be based on the concept of decarbonization measure (DM) and illustrated by the case of Stellantis, one of the world leaders in terms of vehicle production, which develops a new organizational structure from local energy managers to corporate energy consultants.

Tourism ecological security (TES) has gradually become a frontier topic because it is related to the virtuous circle of ecosystems and sustainable development, especially in river basins with fragile ecosystems. Based on the Driver–Pressure–State–Impact–Response (DPSIR) model and open systems theory, we constructed a TES evaluation system in the Yellow River Basin (YRB), China. Then, the TES index was measured from 2004 to 2019 and its spatio-temporal characteristics and driving mechanism were analyzed. The results show that: (1) In terms of temporal evolution, the comprehensive TES index shows a steady upward trend, but the difference between cities increases over time. Moreover, the proportion of cities with low status levels of TES declined rapidly, while the proportion of cities with high status levels of TES has grown slowly. (2) Spatially, low-TES value cities have always been in the majority, and the high-value cities show a scattered spatial distribution, most of which are along the river. Moreover, TES is randomly distributed in space before 2013, but it shows a significant positive spatial clustering feature thereafter. Specifically, the range of hot spots extends from the intersection of the middle and upper reaches to downstream, while the cold spots are always scattered. Furthermore, the trend surface in the east–west direction is always smooth, while it gradually manifests an inverted U-shape in the north–south direction. (3) In the dynamic transfer, TES lacks the vitality of transfer, but the probability of shifting upward becomes more significant when adjacent to higher-level cities; the opposite is true when adjacent to lower-ranked cities. (4) In terms of the driving mechanism, the factors related to tourism and the economy are the most important driving forces, and the effect of tourism-related factors on TES is becoming increasingly significant. Moreover, the driving mechanism is constructed. Finally, this study provides targeted policy implications for improving TES in the YRB, which has reference value for the development of ecological protection and high-quality tourism.

This study mainly focuses on the development of the Arctic region and the difficulties it faces in the new situation. Finding a suitable development path for low-carbon environmental protection and sustainable development has gradually become the focus of attention in all countries. The secret contest of strength is also becoming increasingly fierce. The escalation of the arms race has virtually made the ambitious Russian Arctic plan more radical. This article will use the “ANP-SWOT” strategic analysis method to reveal the possible damage to the environment of the Arctic region and its unsustainable side behind Russia’s grand development plan in the Arctic region. To factor in the retailer’s overconfidence when dealing with the inventory problem with supply uncertainty, this paper develops a distributionally robust optimization model by only considering the mean and variance of the yield rate distribution. We first show that overconfidence would prompt the retailer to order more under low-profit conditions, whereas it reduces the order quantity under high-profit conditions. The analysis results imply that the pull-to-center effect still exists when only supply uncertainty applies, and the asymmetry that the deviation is higher under low-profit conditions is proved. The performance of overconfidence is also characterized in the expected profits of both retailer and supplier. Numerical studies show that even though the retailer may suffer losses, the supplier can benefit from the retailer’s overconfidence in the low-profit case, which would positively increase the joint expected profit of the supply chain. Two extensions to the base model are also considered, including the scenario with both demand and supply uncertainties and an overconfident multi-product problem with budget constraints. This research provides tractable results to predict how the decision-maker is biased, and such insights would help the applications of de-biasing techniques in practice.

Using manually constructed enterprise digital data from 2012 to 2020, this paper innovatively constructs an enterprise digitalization index to explore its impact on enterprise performance and discusses the potential channels of digitalization on enterprise performance. The findings show that (1) digitalization has a significant positive effect on firm performance, and this finding holds after a series of robustness tests. (2) Digitalization improves firm performance by reducing external management costs and strengthening internal controls. The mediating effects model tests the potential impact mechanism of digitalization on firm performance. (3) The effect of digitalization on the performance of state-owned enterprises is greater than for non-state-owned enterprises. There is wide agreement on the need for systems thinking to address complexity in chronic disease prevention but there is insufficient understanding of how such approaches are operationalised in prevention research. Ison and Straw propose that to address complexity, the right balance must be struck between ‘systemic’ and ‘systematic’ paradigms. We examined the nature and characteristics of this relationship in a series of six qualitative case studies of prevention research. Data comprised 29 semi-structured interviews with 16 participants, and online documents. The analysis combined inductive methods from grounded theory with a theoretically informed framework analysis. Systemic and systematic ways of working varied across each case as a whole, and within the dimensions of each case. Further, the interplay of systemic and systematic approaches was described along a dynamic continuum of variable proportions, with greater emphasis on systemic aspects balanced by less focus on the systematic, and vice versa. By expanding the boundaries for exploring prevention research, we gained empirical understanding of the potential and scope of systemic and systematic paradigms for addressing complexity in prevention research. There is inherent value in being more explicitly conscious and bilingual in both systemic and systematic paradigms so that their respective value and strengths may be utilised. Our findings propose a coherent theoretical frame to better understand existing approaches for addressing complexity in prevention research.

In the digital economy era, cloud–edge collaboration technology provides the necessary technical support for the digital transformation of enterprises, which can improve the quality of services (QoS), and it attracts extensive attention from scholars and entrepreneurs from all fields. Under the bounded-rationality hypothesis, this paper investigates the service mechanism for the cloud–edge collaboration system considering the quality of experience (QoE) and presents a dynamic evolutionary game model between cloud service providers and edge operators by applying the evolutionary game theory. Then, this paper analyzes the equilibrium and stability conditions for the decision-making of both parties involved to guarantee the QoE reaches the ideal state. In addition, we investigate the factors that influence the stable cooperation between the two evolutionary stable strategies and validate the theoretical analytical results with numerical simulations. The research results show that the final evolution of the cloud–edge collaboration system depends on the benefits and costs of the game matrix between the two parties and the initial state values of the system. Under a specific condition, the cloud–edge collaboration system can eventually be driven to be an ideal state by reducing the collaboration cost and improving the collaboration benefit. The more both parties focus on the QoE, the more conducive it will be for the formation of a cloud–edge collaboration, thus effectively promoting long-term stability and better serving enterprises’ digital transformation.
