Due to the wide spread of COVID-19, the educational institutes were closed on 20th March, 2020 and the individuals were advised to isolate themselves at home. This lockdown not only adversely affected the economy but all the educational activities were shut down which created a huge gap in students’ learning and knowledge all over the globe. This quantitative study was designed to explore the impact of COVID-19 on the education of higher level students in the context of Pakistan. The five point Likert Scale questionnaire was provided to the learners enrolled in intermediate, undergraduate, graduate and postgraduate level. 74 respondents respond to the questionnaire. The data were analyzed through SPSS 23. The results of the findings revealed that students have been facing a lot of difficulty to grasp certain concepts during e-classes. The students lacked internet access along with not been given any prior guidance related to the usage of online platform. The challenges regarding online classes at the same time are being faced by the teachers as well along with the students. It was also analyzed that although teachers are providing all the necessary resources and feedback to the students but still students have been going through difficulties in grasping the concept, gaining knowledge and communicating with their teachers online. Due to immense number of online classes teachers have a huge workload on their part.

Recommender systems solve the current information overload problem in the online world. By predicting and presenting relevant information, web users do not need to waste time searching and browsing for contents that they are interested in. However, in addition to the accurate contents, slogans associated catching the customers’ eyes are worthy of exploration. This study aims to discover the effects of various recommender slogans. Two categories of slogans were designed in the study: slogans associated with customer inputs and slogans associated with price promotion. Actual customers’ webpage clickstreams and purchase decisions were collected from a Taiwanese retail shopping Website. The effects of recommender slogans on product categories are different. Customers generally were drawn by the slogans associated with price promotion. This study brought to light the effects of different slogans on online shoppers. With the empirical findings, this study provides online retailers important guidelines regarding online customers’ behaviors towards the employment of recommender slogans.

On account of its contagious nature, COVID-19 has resulted in various containment measures and mandatory isolation, affecting the personal interaction between students and instructors tremendously. In the absence of face-to-face interaction and traditional classroom teaching, computer-based learning has come out as the closest substitute for offline teaching. In addition, adult and youth students’ perceptions of courses’ effectiveness towards online learning as compared to traditional face-to-face learning have largely been overlooked and thus should be designed based on the needs of adult learners. This paper aims to fill this void in the literature, presenting results indicating all students’ positive perceptions towards e-learning and thus acceptance of this new learning system. It also empirically demonstrates the significance of e-learning in the time of this COVID-19 crisis. The results also point out surprising differences in students’ perceptions of the importance of communications and collaboration, effectiveness, and self-efficacy, and surprisingly differences exist between the performances of youth and adult learner groups. Under the current debates on the cost and teaching quality of higher education, the findings herein should help educational institutions in their improvement of higher education and student enrollment and retention.

The aim of the Paper is to inform about necessity of evaluating usability of websites and the tools that are appropriate to be used for it. Paper defines electronic services from different authors and differences that it creates. Paper states useful methodologies, that could be used for such evaluation and subsequently to parse it by using methodology of 360°. Lastly recommended methodology of 360° is then described in subsequential steps necessary for complex analysis. Conclusion states creation of possible information gap created by using this method, that needs further research.

Rapid development in modern industrial technology require pragmatic approach in the learning environments. Practical skills need to be imparted early among learners so that they are ready for industry practice. Because of research orientation of tertiary and higher learning institutions, they are at a vantage point to be aware of modern technologies earlier than industry. Taking a strategic initiative further to be technology transfer centers, learning institutions can adopt learning factories (LFs). Modern day economies are backed by emerging small and medium enterprises (SMEs). These SMEs are mainly founded by young graduates who have superior advantages in terms of trending technologies learnt in institutions that are practical and technology orientated. Africa industrialization agenda is better promoted through a strategic initiative of learning factories. The article seeks to promote learning factories among Africa's learning institutions as a strategic initiative to spearhead industrial development, innovation, and rapid growth of SMEs.
