Acute fatty liver of pregnancy (AFLP) is a rare and potentially fatal disease that occurs in the 3rd trimester of pregnancy. This article presents two clinical cases of AFLP and provides a review of the literature on this pathology. Diagnosis of AFLP is based on clinical, laboratory and radiological criteria, and treatment involves early recognition of the condition with delivery and full supportive maternal care are extremely important for the outcomes of both mother and child. However, AFLP can lead to serious complications. A better understanding of this pathology is needed to improve the prognosis and survival of AFLP patients.

Background: Risky behaviors often place young people young people in problematic situations. The aim of this study is to examine the factors that influence risky decision making in a group of young people studied.
Methods: Between 1 April and 30 July 2022 and through a remote questionnaire, the cross-sectional study included 204 young people, 26.47% of whom were likely to make high-risk decisions. Data were analyzed using SPSS statistics for Windows, version 16.0. Statistical significance was set at p<0.05.
Results: Increased risk decisions in young adults were significantly associated with age (92.6%), violent environment (83.3%), education (53.7%), bulimia (48.1%), anorexia (11.1%), insomnia (72.2%), irritability (53.7%), depression (24.1%), suicidal thoughts (40.7%), fear of abandonment (48.1%), and trauma (63.3%) as well as toxic habits such as tobacco (55.6%), alcohol (64.8%), and drugs (50.0%).
Conclusions: Risky decision-making behaviors involve areas of the brain that undergo changes in early adulthood. Socio-economic, nutritional, and psychosocial factors are involved. It is therefore necessary to understand the associated psychological and biological reasons in order to adjust prevention.

Background: Diabetes is a hyperglycemic disease caused by a lack of action of insulin, but serum lipids are also strongly affected by insulin. Serum lipid abnormalities (dyslipidemia) are frequently observed in diabetic populations regardless of insulin deficiency or insulin resistance. Hypertriglyceridemia is the greatest common serum lipid abnormality in diabetic populations. To study the effect of mango seeds on dyslipidemia in diabetes-induced rats. There was a noticeable difference in the body weight (BW) of male and female diabetic rats.Materials and methods: To investigate effect on BW and the antihyperlipidemic actions of ethanolic extract of mango seed (EEMS) on alloxan-mediated diabetic Sprague-Dawley rats. Antihyperlipidemic in addition antidiabetic properties of an EEMS was planned at 100 and 200 mg/kg BW. The antidiabetic effect of EEMS been matched with tolbutamide 500 mg/kg BW. The lipid levels and BW of male and female rats were examined at consistent periods throughout the research. Results: The outcomes displayed that the dyslipidemia was considerably decreased in the different treatment groups, while matched with control, the animals cured with tolbutamide and EEMS control. Conclusion: EEMS exhibited a noteworthy antihyperlipidemic actions in addition with marked difference on BW of both male and female in alloxan-induced diabetic rats.

Background: In Bangladesh, fighting with the delta sub variety of SARS-CoV-2 was most difficult than its previous and following waves. The aim of this study is to shed light upon different risk factors of COVID-19 and their influences across age-groups inpatients in North-Eastern Districts. Methods: In this case control study, we included 75 positive and 24 negative patients admitted to Jalalabad Ragib Rabeya Medical College and Hospital, Sylhet, Bangladesh from 1st August to 30th September 2021. Different demographic, clinical and radiographic data were collected, analyzed, and compared between/among patients to assess diseases severity. Results: On average patients with COVID-19 were more likely to display remarkably 4, 1.3, and 1.5 times higher serum D-dimer, C-reactive protein, and ferritin level compared to non-COVID-19 people. Higher number of elderly inpatients from the age of 40; specially 60 years and older accounted for the abnormal rise of the aforesaid biochemical risk factors. This age range was also concerning for intensive care unit admission and multiple biomarker elevation. Nevertheless, the percentage of hospitalized COVID-19 patients with hypertension and diabetes is calculated 45% and 30.3%. Alarmingly, 96% of our patients showed COVID-19 assisted lung abnormalities diagnosed by computerized tomography scan and hither the order for degree of damage was bilateral consolidation>ground-glass opacity>pulmonary lesion>chronic obstructive pulmonary disease>cardiomegaly. Conclusions: Age is the principle demographic risk factor of COVID-19, and it has positive correlation with different hospital outcomes, biochemical risk factors, abnormal radiographic manifestations and comorbidities.

Introduction: Self-measurement of blood pressure (SMBP) is a recent technique, already studied and validated, but it is still underused in the management of hypertension. The objective of the study was to evaluate the practice of SMBP in patients in management of hypertensive patients in Pakistan.Materials and methods: We conducted a descriptive prospective study during six months at the Institute of Cardiology of Pakistan Islamabad. Our study included patients aged at least 18 years old who were diagnosed with hypertension for at least six months and followed up in outpatient clinics. The analysis and processing of data were performed by SPSS software version 22.Results: Our study population was consisted of 300 patients with a male predominance (sex ratio of 1.46). The mean age of the patients was 41-60 years of age group. Our study showed that 39.6% of patients said they knew about blood pressure self-measurement before the therapeutic education; however, only 23.4% had already performed it. Medical staff talked to the patient about self-monitoring in 60% and encouraged the patient to perform SMBP.Conclusions: The practice of SMBP was low. However, when properly practiced, it reduced the occurrence of cardiovascular complications. The practice medical staff talked to the patient about self-monitoring have positive effects on patients’ SMBP.
