This paper proposes a model to identify how different economic, social and political variables, influence on the confidence that entrepreneurs have towards the Costa Rican economy. The objective of the model is to determine if Costa Rican entrepreneurs behave as rational agents, from a realistic rationality perspective. It is concluded that the confidence of Costa Rican entrepreneurs towards the country’s economy is related to changes in socioeconomic variables, so that these seem to be able to behave as rational agents.

espanolEn el presente articulo se analiza el texto latino Heautontimorumenos desde una vision pragmatica, en tanto el contexto de enunciacion de la escena dramatica. Algunos postulados de la pragmatica literaria (discursos, actos de habla, contexto de enunciacion,entre otros) y la semiologia sirven de base para un analisis desde el texto de la comedia (prologo retorico, dialogo, accion dramatica, intriga, caracterizacion de personajes) hacia su contexto (educacion en la Roma Republicana). Se pudo constatar que la obra de Terencio conlleva, en el nivel sematico la importancia del dialogo y la caracterizacion de los personajes; mientras que en el nivel pragmatico se parecia el valor de la polemica educativa desde la intriga, en una comedia de sociedad. EnglishIn the present article the Latin text Heautontimorumenos is analyzed from a pragmatic vision, in the context of the enunciation of the dramatic scene. This scientific article is the result of a qualitative research proposed to analyze the relationship manifested between the suicidal gesture and the process of resilience of a group of young gays and lesbians from the Greater Metropolitan Area in Costa Rica. A total of eight young people participated in this research (four women and four men. As the main data collection technique, the in-depth interview is used. Among the main findings it was possible to identify the relationship between the social homo-lesbo phobia and the suicidal gesture underwent by gay and lesbian participants which is permeated by a process of self-acceptance overwhelmed by demands, speeches and concrete experiences involving stigmatization and discrimination. Particularly, situations linked to internalized homo-lesbo phobia, subjective pain, depression, concealment of sexual orientation, social isolation, and self-destructive practices are evident. All of them explained from processes of social oppression featured in the social homolesbo phobic and patriarchal society settled in the Costa Rican social formation. As an emerging element of this research, It was necessary to analyze the processes of resilience and resistance experienced by the population subject to study in order to find expressions of strategies and mechanisms, both personal and from the immediate context, involved when facing experiences of violence. Among this strategies are included: participation in supportive and respectful groups of sexual diversity, de-construction and re-signification of spirituality, and encouragement of latent internal resources. The present research was carried out at the Farmer’s Market of San Ramon de Alajuela Costa Rica, administered by the Cantonal Agricultural Center in the last two months of 2015 and throughout the year 2016, where approximately 5,000 people from differentgeographic origins of Costa Rica and other neighboring countries visit the Farmer´s Market and share cultural, economic and social activities. This agricultural marketing facility was evaluated through a survey of 322 users to know their current status. Among the main results was that the general rating of the Feria del Agricultor de San Ramon by consumers, was good to very good, took into account important points such as schedules, the treatment of the producer towards people, the availability and diversity of agricultural products, the space of the fairground and the sections, as well as the order and cleanliness. With this research, it was intended to make a diagnosis to know the consumers’ perception of the FASR and make some recommendations to improve this commercialization space.

One of the aspects that more importance is taking in the evaluation of the quality of the universities, is the contribution and the work that these do in investigation. However, it is useless to carry out research processes if they are not disseminated through appropriate publication channels, since there is a risk that the contribution is ignored and really has little or no impact on the problems of the reality and the environment. Therefore, this article seeks to present the results of the generation and implementation of a research group within an academic department of a Mexican private university, demonstrating that with a five-step model, it is possible to detonate the academic production of its teachers.

Se evaluaron 10 variables cuantitativas.Se presentaron diferencias estadisticamente significativas entre la planta original, y al menos una de sus dos progenies, para las siguientes variables del fruto: peso, longitud, ancho, numero de suturas longitudinales incompletas, numero de espinas, relacionlongitud/ancho, y relacion ancho/grosor. No se encontraron diferencias significativas para las variables grosor del fruto, numero de suturas longitudinales completas del fruto, y relacion longitud/grosor del fruto. En la presente investigacion se informa porprimera vez sobre la variabilidad morfologica en frutos entre progenies de tacaco. Los resultados evidencian la magnitud del flujo de genes en esta especie. The study was developed in Costa Rica. Ten quantitative variables were evaluated. There were statistically significant differences between fruits of the original plant and those of at least one of its two progenies for the following fruit variables: weight, length, width, number of incomplete longitudinal sutures, number of spines, length/width ratio, and width/thickness ratio. Conversely, there were no significant differences for fruit thickness, number of complete longitudinal fruit sutures, and fruit length/thickness ratio. This investigation provides the first known report in the literature regarding morphological variability in fruits of progenies of tacaco. These results yield evidence of the gene flowmagnitude in this species.

El uso del plaguicida Paraquat ha sido ampliamente difundido alrededor del mundo y Costa Rica no ha sido la excepcion debido a su exito para tratar malas hierbas y su facil disponibilidad en el mercado; con el inconveniente de ser toxico para el ambiente y los humanos. El objetivo de esta revision bibliografica es unificar el conocimiento existente del Paraquat, enfocado en Costa Rica con el fin de exponer algunas de las consecuencias causadas por el plaguicida. Se empleo como metodologia la recopilacion de informacion mediante herramientas como bases de datos, Internet y el correo electronico. Con la investigacion se concluyo que es necesario reforzar la informacion utilizada por las personas que manipulan el Paraquat para evitar las intoxicaciones, ademas de quedar en evidencia la necesidad de mejorar las regulaciones y el cumplimiento de los decretos establecidos pais en materia de plaguicidas.

El presente articulo relata una practica de ensenanza-aprendizaje de lectura en lengua inglesa desarrollada en una escuela publica y describe su proceso como medio de acceso al conocimiento y la interaccion humana. Como una perspectiva sociocultural de la lectura, el objetivo de este estudio fue brindar a estos estudiantes el aprendizaje de la comprension lectora en lengua inglesa como instrumento de insercion en el contexto mundial, de interaccion y autonomia. El desarrollo de este estudio se dio, primero por medio de la revision bibliografica y, posteriormente, por la planificacion y ejecucion de las practicas pedagogicas. Es posible afirmar que esta practica ha desarrollado el aprendizaje de la lectura en lengua inglesa y el reconocimiento de su importancia como posibilidad de acceso al saber. El estudio apunta al entendimiento de que el aprendizaje de lectura en una lengua extranjera es un proceso que involucra al estudiante y sus experiencias de aprendizaje y que para que esto ocurra el profesor deberia promover practicas para hacer de esa lengua un instrumento de interaccion humana y de acceso al conocimiento. Es posible afirmar que esta practica ha desarrollado el aprendizaje de la lectura en lengua inglesa y el reconocimiento de su importancia como posibilidad de acceso al saber. El estudio apunta al entendimiento de que el aprendizaje de lectura en una lengua extranjera es un proceso que involucra al estudiante y sus experiencias de aprendizaje y que para que esto ocurra el profesor deberia promover practicas para hacer de esa lengua un instrumento de interaccion humana y de acceso al conocimiento. The investigative work consisted in the analytical investigation of a photometric proposal for the determination of calcium in five different parenteral solutions, in a laboratory (A) in the field of health in Costa Rica. First, the concentration of calcium present in the five parenteral solutions was determined by a volumetric method with EDTA in Laboratory A, the results of which were taken as reference since the method was validated by a body accredited for this purpose. Subsequently, the photometric method recommended by the photometer supplier was tested in the same Laboratory A, presenting problems of precision and accuracy; So we went to the tests in a laboratory B with an identical instrument, which did not give precision problems. The results from both laboratories were statistically compared with a t-Student test and it was stated that there is enough statistical evidence to say that the difference between the results of both laboratories is significant. However, irreversible interferences were maintained photometrically in the study matrices, determining that sodium causes an interference that generates greater intensity in the emission, producing a positive error in the expected calcium concentration. Finally, the suitability of the methodology to quantify calcium by flame photometry in another free sodium matrix was confirmed, obtaining satisfactory results for the calcium content.
