Organic Leadership Style and Employee Engagement: The Mediating Effect of Social Relevance of Work in Context of Faculty Members in Higher Education 有机领导风格与员工敬业度:高等教育教师工作社会关联的中介作用

Leadership Style has been since long acknowledged by management scholars as being an important subjectin relation to organizational executions and outcome. An effective leadership would not only be able toprevent job stress and burnout among group members, but would also be successful in enhancing themotivation and engagement of the employees. It has been widely accepted that operational excellence in anorganization can only be maintained through engaged employees. In this study the researchers have strivedto enhance the understanding of the complex relationship between the organic leadership style and theengagement level of the employees and to further comprehend the mediating role of social relevance of workin association of the two constructs i.e. leadership style and employee engagement, in context of facultymembers in higher education sector.

Ancient Philosophy, Quantum Reality and Management 古代哲学,量子现实和管理

The romanticism of management for numbers, metrics and deterministic models driven by mathematics, is not new. It still exists. This is exactly the problem which classical physicists had in the late 19th century until Werner Heisenberg brought the uncertainty principle and opened the doors of quantum physics that challenged the deterministic view of the physical world mostly driven by the Newtonian view. In this paper, we propose an uncertainty principle of management and then list a set of factors which capture this uncertainty quite well and arrive at a new view of scientific management thought. The new view which we call as the Quantum view of Management (QVM) will be based on the major tenets from the ancient philosophical traditions viz., Jainism, Taoism, Advaita Vedanta, Buddhism, Greek philosophers (like Hereclitus) etc.

Spirituality and Productivity - A Relationship Perspective 灵性和生产力——一个关系的视角

Spirituality and its practices are the real gems of value additions in the human life, they helps in building astrong foundation and getting a greater clarity. Spirituality is not a limited concept but expansive like a vastblue ocean. Spirituality, being currently becoming an attracting trend when considered with organizations,many of the organizations prefer in deploying spiritual functions and practices aiming for a good level ofperspicacity and growth in their future forecasts and operations for the enablement of delivering a goodlevel of productivity. This study aims at examining the connectivity existence or non-existence between someorganizational productivity factors that directly or indirectly contributes to productivity levels and thefactors of spiritual intelligence. For the study a controlled experiment was conducted, the 4 factors ofspiritual intelligence such as Critical Existential Thinking, Personal Meaning Production, Transcendentalawareness, Conscious State of Expansion was considered and measured by taking an organization after that4 factors that contributes directly or indirectly to productivity function such as Ability to address day to dayVariations ,Adherence in task accomplishment at extreme workload scenarios with equanimity, Consistencylevel in Benchmark achievement or meeting the provided/ defined target levels, ability in performancebeyond the expected level in logical Operations were consulted and measured. After this a pairing was madewith a deep look of these factors and each pair consisted of different predictors and a response variables, 4regression models were developed in Minitab with these in order to check whether there was anyconnectivity/relationship existence between any one of the factors between the grouped four pairs each (i.e.to check at least 1 predictor - response relationship existence was there or not in all 4 regression modelsdeveloped). The result signalled the existence of relationship between at least 3 factors to at most 5 factors inall the model, marking a green signal of relationship existences.

Kumbh Mela is held once in twelve years in India and is being hailed as largest congregation on earth.Kumbh Mela held in Allahabad in 2013 provided unprecedented learning opportunity and seminalscholarship for multi-disciplines spanning public health, business, religious expression, temporaryinfrastructure, and the makeshift economy among other subjects. Harvard university book 'Kumbh Mela -Mapping the Ephemeral Megacity', claims that Maha Kumbh Mela held in 2013 was better organized thanFIFA world cup held in Brazil in 2014. This bears a testimony to the 'Globalizing Indian managementthought'. The sheer size is indicated by the fact that as an estimate 120 million people visited the KumbhMela at Allahabad in 2013. These events made multinational and Indian companies to mull over sacredcalendars and promote their wares and services. There were innovate sales promotions such as 'Lifebuoy sehaath dhoye kya' to 'Kya apne dant snan kiya' by Dabur among others. Kumbh Melas as an event representsharmonious existence of religious beliefs and business. This also provides unique opportunity for theMarketers to contribute to the society for social responsibility, while demanding business leadership andcultural sensitivity from managers.The research article makes modest attempt to elucidate various salespromotions of select brands in the context of Kumbh Mela as religious events, and develops conceptualframeworks for understanding of sales promotions at religious events in India for the marketers.

Language of the Heart: Profit-Oriented Management vs Spiritual Values for Quality Treatment and Cost Containment in Health Care 心灵的语言:以利润为导向的管理vs精神价值的质量治疗和成本控制的医疗保健

Organizational unrestrained greed is spreading throughout the world causing harm to millions of peopleand the environment, leading to a loss of trust in business, and can create particular havoc in the health caresystem. Stemming from a domineering, exclusive paradigm of profit-maximization, it serves a few at theexpense of many. Replacing this outdated model with mediating higher spiritual principles that representdharma, discrimination, and compassion, is necessary to heal the wounds inflicted upon the world by greed,to resurrect quality and affordable health care, and to reshape and redirect firm objectives. Drawing fromthe Bhagavad Gita we explore the nature of greed and destructiveness and then offer three propositions: 1)conditions influencing organizational greed are fueled by unrestrained desires; 2) profit-oriented healthcare increases risks of patient exploitation and decreases quality of care, and 3) spiritual-value drivenleadership in health care is more inclusive, enhancing patient care, providing cost containment, andhospital prosperity. Evidence supports the perspective that spiritual leadership in health care is greatlyadvantageous in advancing far-reaching optimal care and in promoting dynamic, creative success. Finally,a noteworthy unanticipated theme emerged that the absence or presence of awareness of theinterconnectedness of all beings appeared to influence managerial behaviors. Those with no awarenessengaged in destructive, greed-induced behaviors, and those with awareness inspired wholesome, upliftingbehaviors that served many.

Dark Leadership and its Impact on Work Place Spirituality: An Empirical Study 黑暗领导及其对工作场所灵性的影响:一项实证研究

Leadership has an imperative mastery on employee and organisational outcomes. In particular, leaders shapes the culture of the organisation, role model behaviour for employees and develop inter and intra personal relationships between themselves and their followers. states that employees with low spiritual intelligence has a strongly relationship between abusive supervision and workplace deviance compared to individuals with high spiritual intelligence. This paper examines the leader's destructive behaviour and its impact on work place spirituality. The structured questionnaire was adopted to collect the data from 217 BPO employees in Coimbatore. The results of the study shows there is a significant positive and negative relationship between the variables of destructive leadership on workplace spirituality. The study highlights the findings of previous research, and suggestions for future studies, and provides a practically useful measure of destructive leader behaviour in organizations. Background of the study: Leadership has an imperative mastery on employee and organisational outcomes. In particular, leaders shape the culture of the organisation, role model behaviour for employees and develop personal relationships between themselves and their followers. Research objective: The objectives of the study is to explore a the destructive behaviour and its impact on workplace spirituality Method: Questionnaire method was used with the sample of 217 respondents working in BPO companies in Coimbatore by using snow ball sampling. The researcher had adopted ex-post facto research design. Results: The results of the study shows there is a significant positive and negative relationship between the variables of destructive leadership and workplace spirituality. Conclusion: The study offers a range of applicable suggestions for the policy makers and the organizations of this sector.

The study highlights the findings of previous research, and suggestions for future studies, and provides a practically useful measure of destructive leader behaviour in organizations. This paper focuses on studying and analyzing different aspects of yoga and meditation in one's life. For gaining the competitive advantage, these days yoga and meditation are being used as one of the key element in one's personal growth as well as professional life. In this cutthroat competition, everyone is so busy in their lives that it is tough and tight for an individual to spare time for yoga and meditation. This paper highlights some myths and parameters regarding yoga and meditation, which are essential to be safe from dreadful diseases and necessary from the point of view of healthcare. Most of the studies performed in the developed and developing countries reflecting that an individual is becoming more and more health conscious and therefore prefers to have different asana and exercises of yoga and meditation that are manageable and healthy for the individuals. Human being has examined the fact in order to meet the normal workouts it is necessary to concentrate on physical and mental functioning of the body. Studies and research have proved the fact that by following the principles of yoga and meditation-peaceful mind, alertness and concentration can improve. This paper goes on to highlight how one can benefit immensely by practicing the various concepts of yoga and meditation to come out of the changing paradigms in a way not known before also would acquaint to about the myths, whys, difference, benefits and mechanism of yoga and meditation.

Is NPA and Stock Return Related: An Empirical Study of Back Testing Model NPA与股票收益是否相关:一个回溯检验模型的实证研究

This paper examines the relationship between NPA announcements by banks and the impulsive movement instock price brought out by these announcements. Primary focus of this study is to determine whether we cancreate a swing trading model based on back testing the data for the banking stocks listed on the Indianbourses.To achieve this objective we created a databasespanning ten years (2006 to 2016) and collected thedaily share prices of eight banks listed on Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE). The relationship between shareprice and changes in NPA is studied on the basis of correlation studies and panel-data analysis. Althoughcorrelation studies does not establish any significant relationship, but the result of panel-data analysisclearly shows a negative relationship between the two. The result is further utilized to develop swing tradingmodel and get benefit out of it. The novelty of the present study is that it clearly guides the swing traders as tohow to earn benefit because of fluctuations in share price due to announce of NPA result.

Consumer Online Buying Decisions: A Critical Appraisal of Literature 消费者在线购买决策:对文献的批判性评价

Since last two decades buying of goods and services from online stores using Internet started off. But players of this industry could reach to the general public residing in second and third category Indian cities in recent past only. Now companies are eagerly interested in understanding the factors affecting Indian consumers so that their needs and wants can be understood and served profitably. This research paper is an attempt to critically evaluate those factors which affect consumer buying behavior in Indian Internet based business environment. For the purpose of coverage of topic researcher has classified the literature under three categories which are Literature related to vendor related factors, Literature related to consumer related factors and Literature related to other factors. Vendor related factors include those factors which are primarily controlled by the companies that are engaged in selling their goods and services on internet along with their intermediaries through which such sales take place. Consumer related factors have been bifurcated under two heading that are consumer demographic factors and consumer psychographic factors. Besides this there are several other factors which may affect consumer’s buying decisions and they are classified as other factors. This research paper also tries to identify the gaps (if any) in the available literature of the factors affecting consumer online buying decisions.

Construction of Personality Measurement Scale Based on the 'Guna-Traya' Concepts of the Bhagavad-Gita 基于《博伽梵歌》“Guna-Traya”概念的人格测量量表构建

Human behavior is the outcome of his/her associated Personality. Behavior plays an important role insuccess be it individual or organizational. Organization strives for individual with right kind of personalityfor success and sustainability. Researchers tried to define personality from various perspectives with hardlyany consensus. They also attempted to construct suitable mechanism/instruments to measure it. Thoughthere are wide disagreements among researchers regarding the success/ applicability of these instruments,it is without any doubt that there are requirements for such attempts. This research in an attempt in thisregard to construct an instrument to measure personality based on the most respected religious epic of theHindus': The Bhagavad-Gita. The idea of personality modes (Guna): Swattva, Rajas and Tamas, theirpresence and dominance in a human being as described in the Bhagavad-Gita are converted intopersonality measuring statements and a scale is finalized by applying appropriate research methodology.The instrument for measuring personality emerged as a 9 dimensional instrument with 56 statements.
