This survey was developed in two stages; firstly, consisted on a characterization of both communities, and their respective tourist attractions. Secondly, was the implementation of an in-depth interview discussed extensively with 22 people in a universe of 35 people, which were selected based on the elapsed time living in the community, the fact that the interviews were performed to people with some degree of social and cultural representativity, as well as belonging to the two associations that operate the two tourist centers. The outcome showed that there is not sign of significant evidence of social or cultural effects arising from the presence of national and foreign tourists who visit both tourist attractions, there is a decline in the practice of topics such as: religious festivities, and some attitudes that are being taken by the residents in both communities especially the young male. The participation of women in tourist activities is minimal. From these results, it is suggested to work on the design of a comprehensive program aimed at strengthening the values, customs and traditions, especially those of a religious nature, and gastronomy, as well as behaviors that allow rescue the customs and rituals of the residents of past generations in both communities, this as a form of preservation and strengthening of local indigenous roots that strengthen the cultural aspects particularly in young people, but also to strengthen the concept of community.

Work life-balance is a need in modern societies where either women or men participate in the labor market. Companies have associated this need with Internal Marketing to promote job satisfaction and motivation. Using a qualitative methodology (in-depth interviews) we analyze the main Work-life balance strategies, considering gender approach, in Travel Agencies in Tijuana. Our findings suggest a feminization in the use of this kind of actions, as well as the emergence of informal strategies not fully considered as relevant Internal Marketing practices.

The paper analyzes the practices of exclusion and labor insertion of the youth of two rural communities with tourist activity. The field work was carried out in 2018 in the cross-border region included in the Cristobal Colon county, in Chiapas, Mexico, and the Chacaj community, in Nenton, Huehuetenango, Guatemala. From a constructionist approach and a qualitative methodology, 19 semi-structured interviews were conducted by people working in productive activities related to rural tourism. Through the multilevel analysis of Geels and Schot (2007), the narratives produced are analyzed to understand how from the rural tourism the practices of exclusion are updated from the social, relational and labor insertion perspectives. The classic markers of gender, age, and origin are documented, to which the digital divide is added, which opens or closes, new job opportunities for some less privileged sectors of the population. It concludes how rural communities have placed the responsibility for the care, administration and management of new ecotourism projects in youth, and in some cases marginalizing them from land tenure and better living conditions. The research offers a current and necessary contribution to the debate of studies about the competitiveness and sustainability of rural tourism, the generational change at work, the efficiency in tourism activity and the use of the Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs).

The objective of the research was to analyze the visit to the Museum of the Mummies of Guanajuato (MUMOG) to determine patterns of behavior and inquire if the dark heritage of the mummies encourages visiting the tourist destination. The State of Guanajuato and the museum occupy the fifth and third position respectively at the national level of visits, so it is important to analyze and study these phenomena. A quantitative and descriptive method was used by applying 392 surveys conducted to visitors in order to identify the sociodemographic profile, behavior patterns to the site and the city. From the visit to the museum: factors such as knowledge of the museum, reasons, companions, repetition, facilities, satisfaction and recommendation; regarding, the visit to the tourist: destination, reasons, activities, accommodation, expense, recommendation and repetition were analyzed. The study allowed to detect the behavior pattern of the visits to the museum and to the city of Guanajuato. The data show that visitors already know about the museum since before arriving at it. In fact, they come to the city with the purpose of visiting it and few people visit others attractions of the city. Of those interviewed, almost half go to the museum to meet the mummies exclusively, half are satisfied with the visit, 70% would recommend visiting it and more of the half would return to Guanajuato. The cultural and dark heritage of the mummy collection is an enhancer of Guanajuato’s tourist destination. It is recommended to look for a strategy of positioning the place and brand for Guanajuato based on the MUMOG. This work recommends the tactic of corporate museum. As future lines of research, the museum and its results should be studied economically, as well as specific aspects such as quality and experience in the museum.

To a decade of the creation of the National Institute of Tourism Promotion (INPROTUR) (with Law 25.997/05), the article discusses its results in the contribution to the demand that originates it: consolidate international arrivals and position Argentina as international destination. Focusing on policy analysis, this study identifies the different stages of the policy (design, implementation and evaluation) and their outputs and outcomes. The findings suggest that INPROTUR develops an effective policy, which positions Argentina in the main international tourist markets, and even receives industry recognition; but not effective enough, to contribute to the its main demand.
