New Urbanism and the Hazard Transect Overlay District: Improving the Integration of Disaster Resilience and Design in Coastal Areas 新城市主义与灾害跨区域叠加:提高沿海地区抗灾能力与设计的一体化

Growing attention has been paid to disaster resilience in the United States by government officials, academics, and design professionals. At the same time, disaster losses continue to rise at a rapid rate, due to the combined effects of long-standing settlement patterns and growth in areas prone to natural hazards and an increase in the frequency and magnitude of disastrous weather events. This article explores how New Urbanism, an increasingly ubiquitous approach to urban design, and its associated transect can be modified for better disaster resilience through the proposed creation of Hazard Transect Overlay Districts (H-Transect) that remain true to New Urbanism and disaster resilience. Two types of HTransect Overlay Districts—protect/accommodate and managed retreat/avoidance—are created and visually superimposed on the New Urbanist transect in the coastal zone, spanning riverine, tidal, and shoreline environments. Our results suggest that the proposed H-Transect Overlay District can be used in New Urbanist communities to advance resilience by actively involving land use planners, recognizing the need to further test and calibrate the concept over time.

Seit dem Jahr 1985 werden am Versuchszentrum Laimburg alljahrlich im Herbst, in den Wochen vor der Reife, bei den wichtigsten Sudtiroler Rebsorten Tests durchgefuhrt, um die Reifesituation zu ermitteln und den Weinbaubetrieben die Planung der Ernte zu erleichtern. Diese Daten stellen zugleich eine interessante Dokumentation der Veranderungen in diesem Zeitraum dar. Neben der Klimaanderung mit einer Zunahme der durchschnittlichen Temperaturen, waren die letzten dreieinhalb Jahrzehnte in Sudtirol auch von grosen Veranderungen im Weinbau und insbesondere durch das Streben nach hoherwertiger Trauben- und Weinqualitat gepragt. Derselbe Reifegrad der Trauben wird heute um 19 bis 50 Tage fruher erreicht als zu Beginn der Reifetests im Jahre 1985. In den allermeisten Fallen ist eine Reifeverfruhung von etwa 3 Wochen zu erkennen. Aus den vorliegenden Daten kann nicht ermittelt werden wieweit diese Veranderungen auf die veranderten Klimabedingungen oder auf Veranderungen im Anbau zuruckzufuhren sind. Letztere durften jedoch auch eine Rolle spielen, insbesondere in den Fallen mit uberdurchschnittlicher Reifeverfruhung. Die Gesamtsaurewerte der Moste sind bei gleichem Zuckergehalt nicht abgefallen bzw. sind auch die pH-Werte bei gleichem Zuckergehalt nicht angestiegen. Dies ware eigentlich, aufgrund der inzwischen warmeren Bedingungen wahrend der Traubenreife, zu erwarten gewesen. Vielmehr ist es so, dass bei gleichem Zuckergehalt die Gesamtsaurewerte entweder ahnlich geblieben sind oder heute hoher liegen als fruher. Teilweise sind bei gleichen Gesamtsaurewerten auch die pH-Werte heute niedriger als fruher.

The collection includes several photos from Dorothea Lange’s Farm Security Administration travels in the region and her notes on housing conditions and length of the workday. The representation of hopscapes in this book illustrates the dilemmas that arise at the intersection of food and landscape systems. As the revival of craft breweries focuses attention on the complexities of hops varieties as registered on the palette—citrus or piney aromatics or just plain hoppiness—it can also reveal the social justice and environmental problems of the food system as registered in the landscape. The historical record in this book provides a backdrop for assessing the current revival of hop production driven by the emergence craft breweries pioneered in Oregon in the 1980s and now finding niches in other places. The scholarship emerging in the crossdisciplinary synthesis of food studies or the work of geographers such as Don Mitchell (2003) help analyze the power relationships embedded in and often concealed in everyday practices that shape food and landscapes. Meanwhile, scholars (Reang, 2017) are working to uncover the more specific stories of the groups of people who appear in the archival photos who helped make Oregon at one point the “hop capital of the world.” Agriculture has radically transformed ecological habitats to the point that half of what is considered the world’s habitable land is now under agricultural production. The hopscapes found in a relatively narrow range of climate suitability between latitudes of 44 and 51 degrees represent an extremely small portion of this cultural ecology, and the Willamette Valley locates an even smaller fraction of these landscape metrics. However, as this book vividly illustrates, this valley and the relationships documented in these photos and archival text are microcosms of systems that will continue to have significant global implications.

Apple is a widely consumed fruit and its popularity is due to the complex aroma and flavour composition. The aim of this paper is to highlight the role of volatile organic compounds (VOCs) in apple, summarizing their biosynthetic processes and exploring which analytical methods are commonly used for their analysis. This approach could lead to a deeper understanding of the different outputs derived from each technique.

В данной статье освещаются проблемы института комбинированной реорганизации, а именно ее правовой природы, приводятся точки зрения различных авторов по этому вопросу. Автором частично затрагиваются законодательные формулировки норм статьи 57 Гражданского кодекса Российской Федерации и подвергаются оценке.
本文阐述了混合重组制度的问题,即其法律性质,并给出了不同作者对这一问题的看法。提交人部分提到了《俄罗斯联邦民法典》第57条规范的立法措辞,并对其进行了评估。
