Energy efficiency is one of the most researchable topics of the energy constrained Wireless Sensor Networks (WSN). Due to the widespread usage of WSN in real-time applications, network lifetime is the serious concern and numerous research solutions are presented in the literature for handling this issue. Several techniques are employed to handle energy consumption and the most promising techniques are clustering and routing other than data compression. Hence, this paper presents a clustering and routing-based solution for energy efficient WSN with trust notion as its base. The nodes are clustered with the help of Dempster-Shafer Theory (DST), while the best route is selected by employing Lion Optimization Algorithm (LOA). The work efficiency of the proposed work is proven with reasonable outcomes with respect to different performance measures. This work proves an average packet delivery rate of 94.24%, average latency of 13.43 s and 191 alive nodes at the end of 500th second better network lifetime when compared to the existing works.

Biodiesel is touted to be an alternative to the fossil fuels as it is conducive to the environment. This investigation proposes a control framework to produce biodiesel in a reactive distillation column via a transesterification process. To extract quality product, the temperature profile must be maintained along the column as per the requirements. However, constant interactions among the products inside the column disturb the temperature profile and consequently the product quality. Therefore, this investigation treats the process as a single input and single output system, where in the process interactions are modelled as disturbances. A model predictive controller (MPC) is designed for the proposed system to ensure product quality. The MPC parameters must be selected appropriately to ensure optimal performance. In this regard, to tune the MPC parameters optimally, we use two evolutionary algorithms namely, the real coded genetic algorithm (RGA) and the bio-geography based optimization algorithm (BBO). The results indicate the proposed control strategy provides offset free set point tracking when compared to the multivariable control strategy employed using the MPC algorithm. Among the two evolutionary controllers used for tuning the MPC parameters, the RGA MPC controller provides a satisfactory performance.

Information technology acts an important role in gathering, transmitting with executing data from areas of disaster-prone such as the battlefield and international borders. In addition to the country’s security, the soldier needs protection by defending himself with advanced weapons such as a bomb detector. This paper provides the capability to track the whereabouts and health of soldiers who have been lost or injured on the battlefield. It assists in reducing the time, searching and rescuing operation efforts of the military control room. This paper implements a system for health-condition monitoring that sends soldiers’ health parameters, such as the electrocardiogram (ECG), blood oxygen level, pulse rate, and temperature, to the control room via a Mobile Ad hoc Network (MANET). Body parameters are sensed utilizing various body sensors fixed to the bodies of soldiers. The body parameters are broadcasted to the control room via MANET devices at the path. To preserve the health parameters data of soldiers from enemies while data transmission, this paper also proposes a cryptographic ensemble approach. This approach combines Symmetric Key Encryption, and Identity Based Encryption (IBE) with Identity Based Signature (IBS). The experimental result shows proposed cryptographic ensemble provides high security compared with existing MANET security algorithms.

Coronary artery disease has been the utmost mutual heart disease in the past decades. Various research is going on to prevent this disease. Obstructive CAD occurs when one or more of the coronary arteries which supply blood to myocardium are narrowed owing to plaque build-up on the arteries’ inner walls, causing stenosis. The fundamental task required for the interpretation of coronary angiography is identification and quantification of severity of stenosis within the coronary circulation. Medical experts use X-ray coronary angiography to identify blood vessel/artery stenosis. Due to the artefact, the image has less clarity and it will be challenging for the medical expert to find the stenosis in the coronary artery. The solution to the problem a computational framework is proposed to segment the artery and spot the location of stenosis in the artery. Here the author presented an automatic method to detect stenosis from the X-ray angiogram image. A unified Computational method of Jerman, Level-set, fine-tuning the artery structure, is developed to extract the segmented artery features and detect the artery’s stenosis. The current experimental outcomes illustrate that this computational method achieves average specificity, sensitivity, Accuracy, precision and F-scores of 95%, 97.5%, 98%, 97.5% and 97.5%, respectively.

The existing neutral clamped active inverter has common mode voltage with the high frequency which can reduce the severity with less voltage gain. The traditional active neutral point clamped (APC) DC–AC converter maintains great common mode voltage with high-frequency (CMV-HF) reduction capability so, it has limited voltage gain. The paper presents a new 5-level active neutral point clamped DC–AC converter that can change voltage step-up in a single-stage inversion. In the suggested design, a common ground not only reduces the CMV-HF but also improves DC link voltage use. Compared with the traditional two-stage 5-level APC DC–AC converter, the proposed design has lower voltage stresses and greater uniformity. While improving the overall efficiency, the suggested clamped DC–AC converter saves three power switches and a capacitor. Modelling and actual tests have proven the suggested active neutral point clamped inverter’s overall operation, efficacy and achievability. The proposed circuit is finally tested with fault clearance capability.

The face image analysis field is a well-established research area in computer vision and image processing. An important requirement for accurate face image analysis is a high-quality input face image. In different real-life scenarios, however, the face is often not properly illuminated, which makes the face analysis very difficult or impossible to accomplish. Although a better performance is obtained by changing the spectrum from visible to near-infrared, it is still not enough for extreme illumination conditions. To obtain a high-quality near-infrared face image, a fast automatic brightness control method using approximate face region detection is proposed, which properly adjusts the brightness of the face part of the image. A novel algorithm for approximate face region detection based on spatio-temporal sampled skin detection is proposed together with the split-range feedback controller and the face absence handle. The proposed method is much faster than state-of-the-art solutions and accurate in approximate face region detection. The complete execution time is lower than 10 milliseconds which makes it suitable for hard real-time embedded system implementation and usage, while the reference brightness value is achieved within 10–15 frames, making it robust to extreme illumination conditions in a scene.

In the case of hybrid sustainable energy power systems made up of Solar Photovoltaic, wind, and an integrated energy storing system connected to a grid network, this research suggests a better control technique for optimal Power Quality improvement. The Unified Power Quality Conditioner with Real and Reactive Power are built-in with the proposed Hybrid Sustainable Energy Systems, and they include Type-1 and Interval Type-2 Fuzzy-based controllers. The main objective is to simultaneously control voltages while minimizing power losses and Total Harmonic Distortion. The Unified Power Quality Conditioner is utilized to reduce Power Quality concerns such as sag, swell, real power, reactive power, and harmonic distortion related to voltage/current by utilizing a proposed controller. The innovative method is displayed in various ways, such as simultaneous PQ replenishment and RES power injections, RESP > 0, and RESP = 0. In addition, the recommended methodology outperforms earlier literature approaches, such as PID controllers. The system is built on the MATLAB Simulink platform, where various performance studies are conducted.

In a survey conducted in the year 2020, we came to know that India’s around 50% of population includes young people of the age group of 25 and students. Guiding this young mass in the right way and strengthening their future is a huge responsibility put over the head of the elder citizens of India such as their parents teachers and professors. This paper aims to build a model that can predict the students’ competency level and the risk factors or the fields where he needs to put their effort to improve themselves, and this model also helps the parents, professors and Educational institutes to know about their children’s and students in which zone they stand, are they ready to compete with others. This analysis is done by using different ML bifurcation algorithms. Also we aim to find the best classifier which can emerge with the highest predicting accuracy among all other classifiers to the above-said problem. The accuracy of 88.5% is achieved through the proposed machine learning algorithm for particular education datasets which have been taken into consideration.

This research work emphasizes on the development of a unique high-gain BOCUK DC-DC converter for Switched Mode Power Supply (SMPS) applications. The high-gain BOOST-CUK (BOCUK) DC-DC converter combines the benefits of both Boost and Cuk converters for attaining instantaneous line current shaping and load regulation. The proposed BOCUK converter provides a non-inverted output and improves the voltage gain and efficiency. The modes of operation of the high-gain BOCUK DC-DC Converter in a Continuous Conduction Mode (CCM) with parasitic elements in the circuit are examined and a state-space model is constructed. The second-order model is derived using the Modified Hankel Matrix Method (HMM) to make the controller design easier. Dual-loop Control employing an inner Linear Quadratic Regulator (LQR) current Controller and an outer Atom Search Optimization (ASO)-tuned Proportional Integral (PI) controller is used to analyze the performance indices of the high-gain converter and fluctuations in line, load and setpoint are investigated. Simulation results prove that the LQR controller is robust in tracking the load voltage and provides excellent line current shaping with low % Total Harmonic Distortion (THD) and nearly Unity Power Factor (UPF). The hardware model for 200W is built and implemented using the TMS320F28027F microcontroller to verify the simulation results.

Information technology (IT) providers should use cloud-based services due to their flexibility, reliability, and scalability to handle the rising requirement for processing capacity. The maintenance of dependable services between cloud providers and their customers in a cloud environment, on the other hand, depends on Quality of Service (QoS) assurance. Virtual machine (VM) consolidation is nondeterministic polynomial time (NP) hard issue, and numerous heuristic techniques have been suggested to solve it. In this work, the suggested VM consolidation technique takes into account both current and future uniform distribution elephant herding optimization (UDEHO) based VM consolidation approaches for resource utilization via host overload detection (utilization prediction based potential overload detection (UP-POD)) and host underload detection (UP-PUD). A UDEHO method efficiently predicts resource use in the future. Depending on the power utilization and the number of migrations, a power-saving value is advised for identifying under-loaded hosts. Furthermore, the CloudSim toolkit is used to construct and test these techniques using the same experimental parameters. Lastly, the findings demonstrate that the suggested methodologies considerably decrease the number of VM migrations by about 0.073%, the energy usage of about 11%, and SLA violations by 6.15% while retaining QoS guarantees when compared to conventional techniques.
