Objective (s): The purpose of patient education is creating positive behaviors. However, one of the biggest barriers of effective patient education and communication is differences of language between patients and health care providers. This study aimed to review the impact of language barriers on patient education worldwide. Methods: In this scoping review, papers both in Persian and English related to patient education language barriers were searched using the following databases: PubMed, Embase, Scopus, and Web of Science, ProQuest, Science Direct, Springer, Cochrane library, Google Scholar, MagIran, SID, Iran Doc, IranMedex and Elmnet during 2010 to 2020. The keywords included communication barriers, language barriers, communication, patient education, Bi language, language obstacle in both Persian and English. Results: In all 8900 citations were retrieved. Of these 16 studies were relevant included in this study. The results of the studies showed a clear association between limited language skills and difficulty in communicating with patients and providing effective patient education, regardless of the research settings. Conclusion: There is a close relationship between language skills and the provision of educational services to the patient. Lack of sufficient language skills prevents effective communication with patients. However, the limitations of studies that have only examined the effect of language barriers on effective patient education are evident, and there is a need for further studies on the

Objective: Cognitive emotion regulation represents an essential role in managing stressful events in people's lives. Some strategies are adaptive, while others are maladaptive and associated with various forms of psychopathology. This study aimed to investigate the factor structure and psychometric properties of the Persian version of the short form of the Cognitive Emotion Regulation Questionnaire (CERQ-18) among Staff of a Military University. Methods: This was a psychometric research. The statistical population of this study was one of the military units in Tehran. Based on the inclusion and exclusion criteria, 310 people were selected by convenience sampling method. The instruments used included the Cognitive Emotion Regulation Questionnaire (CERQ-18), the Depression, Anxiety and Stress Scale (DASS-42) and the General Job Satisfaction Scale (GJSS). Structural validity was examined by performing confirmatory factor analysis. Cronbach's alpha coefficients and test-retest were used to evaluate the reliability. The data were analyzed using SPSS-25 and AMOS-22. Results: Confirmatory factor analysis results indicated a two-factor model of this questionnaire (RMSEA=0.03; SRMR=0.02; CFI=0.98; GFI=0.94). The correlation scores of adaptive coping strategies with depression (-0.48), anxiety (-0.44), stress (0.46) and job satisfaction (0.36) were significant (p <0.01) Also, the correlation of the scores of maladaptive coping strategies with depression (0.55), anxiety (0.42), stress (0.40) and job satisfaction (-0.30) was significant (p <0.01). The reliability coefficients of Cronbach's alpha and test-retest at 4-weeks intervals for adaptive coping strategies were 0.95, 0.88 and for maladaptive coping strategies was 0.88 and 0.77, respectively, indicating satisfactory results. Conclusion: According to the findings of the present study, the short form of the Iranian version of Cognitive Emotion Regulation Questionnaire (CERQ-18) is a suitable tool with good psychometric properties to measure cognitive coping

Objective (s): Secondary lymphedema is known as a common complication after breast cancer treatment. Exercise is considered as a valuable intervention in these patients. The aim of this study was to investigate the effect of exercise on reducing edema volume and improving shoulder range of motion in breast cancer patients with lymphedema. Methods: Thirty patients with lymphedema were included in this randomized double-blind study. Fifteen patients were randomly assigned to the exercise plus complete decongestive therapy (exercise + CDT) group and the rest was allocated to the control group (CDT only). In exercise group, patients received a Pilates exercise program with a routine CDT. Variables of edema volume and shoulder range of motion were measured in five different times including before treatment, on 7, 14 ,21, and 42-day of the treatment. Repeated measures analysis of variance was used. Results: The mean age (SD) of patients in the study was 56.3 (6.1) years. Before treatment, there was no significant difference between the two groups in terms of clinical and demographic variables. Although there was no statistically significant difference between the two groups, an improvement in shoulder range of motion and edema volume were observed in two groups over time. Based on the results, the effect of complete decongestive therapy alone and in combination with exercise (Pilates) on edema volume and shoulder range of motion were statistically significant as indicated by within group comparison during the study period (p<0.05). Conclusion: The exercise can improve the shoulder range of motion and also can lead to less pain and volume in patients suffering from breast cancer related lymphedema. Although there was no significant difference between the two groups in terms of improvement in shoulder range of motion or edema volume, no adverse effect of Pilates was noticed.

Methods: Non-congruent multiple baseline experimental single-case studies were used as the method in the current study. Three anxious children and their mothers were selected through purposeful sampling in Ahvaz, Iran. The effectiveness of acceptance-and-commitment-based parenting education protocol was carried out in three phases (baseline assessment, 12 session treatment, and 1-month follow-up) by using the Spence Children's Anxiety Scale-Parent Form and the Parenting Stress Index– Short Form). The data were analyzed by visual mapping, reliable change index and recovery percentage formula. The direction changes, PND, and POD were the most important variables of visual analysis of trend changes. Results: The mothers and children's reliable change indices were significant in all the instances except for the second mother and child.
