This research is driven by the phenomenon of the poor quality of learning activities of new students in universities. This study tries to investigate the strength through the work of Model-Based Group Approach to enhance the quality of student learning activities. This research is a quasi-experimental research involved 206 students of Universitas Negeri Padang. The instrument used is IAKB (Activation Instrument Learning Activity) and analysis of research data using T-Test. The result from this research shows that there is an improvement of learning activity quality before and after application of the model that is 13.68 to 57.10. This shows a gain of 43.42%. Based on the results of research that has been done can be concluded that the development of this model is useful to improve the quality of student learning activities.

This study surveyed counsellor’s opinion on the efficacy of religious integrated counselling in fostering hospitality and religious harmony in Nigeria. The sample for the study was 120, Counselling for Hospitality and Religious Harmony Questionnaire (CHRHQ) was used for data collection Content Validity Index of CHRHQ was 0.85 and 0.87 reliability. Majority agreed that integrated religious counselling could foster hospitality and encourage religious harmony through competent and appropriate use of different skills and techniques. Also, majority had integrated religion into counselling. No sex difference was found on counsellors’ perception of ways to foster hospitality and religious harmony through counselling, but sex difference exists in the integration of religion into counselling. It was therefore recommended that learning about different religions should become part of counsellors’ training; every mainstream counsellor must take a course in the two major religions – Christianity and Islam, and massive enlightenment programmes through the media are required.

This study intends to determine the occurrence of insomnia and the habit of taking multivitamins against learning stress among students during the early stages of the Covid-19 pandemic. Data were obtained in two times from 308 students in East Jakarta, Indonesia, applying a descriptive quantitative approach through the Rasch Model and inferential statistics via the Bayesian Anova. The result showed that the use of multivitamins and the existence of insomnia have been proved to be linked to the incident of stress among students during the early periods of the pandemic. Although the use of multivitamins is helpful to minimize stress, students consuming this commodity are likely to experience by stress up to 40 times higher than those that experience in insomnia. This condition becomes higher assuming the students, in addition to having insomnia, are also not accustomed to receiving multivitamins. The implications of this study, including considerations for better investigation of this issue, have been discussed and concluded.

The purpose of the study was the use of an adapted valid Childhood Autistic Rating Scale (CARS) to identify Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD) in school children for the purpose of placement and intervention in a special school that comprised categories of children with intellectual disabilities. Samples of 52 subjects randomly selected from the population of 138 were used to rate their behaviours using the CARS. Using nonexperimental research design of cross-categorical survey (descriptive research) was considered most suitable for the study. This is a survey that studies a group of sample in order to identify traits of such group. With the use of statistical data of chi-square, scores collected from the participants revealed that there was no significant difference in the scores or ratings. Also, the result obtained from the use of t-test indicated that the instrument significantly differentiate ASDs traits from Non-ASDs. The findings in this study prompted a suggestion that special schools, centres, homes etc should get this valid instrument handy for the purpose of identifying autistic traits in school children for correct placement and intervention.

One of the development tasks of adolescence is preparing career choices. Various methods have been carried out by authors in order to create an appropriate method to help adolescents. In this article, the authors will examine the psychoeducational groups with self-instruction techniques in improving career decision-making skills, self-esteem, and self-efficacy. The authors conducted a quasi-experimental of the pretest-posttest with group control to determine the impact of the intervention on these variables. The instrument used to obtain data is the psychological scale of career decision making, self-esteem, and self-efficacy, all of which have been tested for validity and reliability. The data collected was then analyzed with MANOVA and t-test. The results show that career decision making (F = 52.28, p <0.05), self-esteem (F = 28.10, p <0.05), and self-efficacy (F = 34.70, p <0.05) can be improved using psychoeducational groups with self-instruction techniques. The implications for the practice of guidance and counseling will be discussed.

The Covid-19 outbreak that hit the whole world had an impact on changes in life patterns and had an impact on education in particular. Making the teaching and learning process carried out at home, Covid-19 raises psychiatric problems due to information that is not necessarily correct coupled with the discovery of the Covid-19 vaccine and cannot be predicted when it will end. It is feared that students will experience stress, depression, and worry about current conditions coupled with learning patterns that burden new learning tasks. So the role of the BK teacher is needed to provide services that help students to overcome the problems currently faced, with counseling services, information services, and media BK. As well as providing assistance to students conducted by BK teachers certainly use media liaison / online such as Zoom, Google Meet, Goole Classroom, and Edmodo. This research aimed to determine the effectiveness of games in group guidance in improving students' interpersonal relationships. Games that were used were adapted to certain aspects of interpersonal relationships. An experimental method was used in this research, specifically the pre-experimental design: one group pre-test post-test. The effectiveness test was done by comparing the results of pre-test and post-test. The treatments were given to one group only without a comparison group. The hypothesis testing was done using non-parametric statistics, namely the Wilcoxon Statistical Test. The results showed an increase in students' interpersonal relationships through the provision of games in group guidance. The increased interpersonal relationships was by 17.2% and seen in all aspects of interpersonal relationships. Thus, it can be concluded that games in group guidance have proven to be effective in improving students' interpersonal relationships. Keywords: Games, Group Guidance, Interpersonal Relationships

Teachers’ beliefs are a personal construct that can provide understandings, perceptions, and evaluation of teachers' practices. The purpose of this research was to find out the students' perceptions toward teachers' beliefs and their effect on students' achievement in English as a general subject at Universitas Negeri Padang. This research was ex-post facto research. The students of English as a general subject in 2018/2019 academic year were the population of this study. The sample was chosen by using a random sampling technique in which there were 150 students chosen as the subjects of this research. The data were taken by using a Likert-scale questionnaire and analyzed by using SPSS Statistics 18 Software. The result showed that there were no significant effects of teachers' beliefs on students' achievement. H0 was accepted because the t-value was lower than the t-table. The value of the t-value was 1.008, while the t-table was 6.313.

This study aims to analyze exam anxiety among vocational school students in professional placement based on gender. This is a quantitative research that uses descriptive and comparative methods and a sample of 115 individuals selected through proportional random sampling technique. Data is obtained using an instrument of exam anxiety and were analyzed descriptively by determining mean, standard deviation, and percentage. To determine the difference in anxiety among vocational school students, the t-test technique with analyzed Independent Samples Test was used. The results showed that exam anxiety was generally in the low and high categories in male and female students, respectively. Also, there was a significant difference between students in the professional placement of male and female students.

Changes in physical, psychological, hormonal and the social conditions occurred in the process of ageing. These changes are expected to bringing impact to the quality of life of the elderly people. The aim of the study is to assess the quality of life and its related factors among the elderly population in Sarawak. A quantitative research has been conducted in the form of survey research by distributing WHOQOL-BREF questionnaire. The study was conducted among the elderly people aged 60 years and above who are living in Sarawak. The sample size of the study was 130 participants that were obtained through snowballing sampling. The data were analysed using Pearson Correlation which was to find out the relationship between each domain and the quality of life of the elderly people in Sarawak. The results obtained shows that the mean score of WHOQOL-BREF was 90.17 whereby the mean scores of the domain environment score the highest among the four domains. In conclusion, the overall score of the quality of life of the elderly people in Sarawak was average.
