Multiuser channel estimation for SC-FDMA system with CAZAC sounding reference sequence and Instruments-in-MATLAB verification 基于CAZAC测深参考序列的SC-FDMA系统多用户信道估计及matlab验证

For the 4G Single-Carrier Frequency-Division-Multiple-Access (SC-FDMA) uplink system, the CAZAC (constant amplitude zero autocorrelation) property of Zadoff-Chu sounding reference sequence (SRS) is exploited to accomplish multiuser (MU) channel estimation in this paper. First, letting each user use an appropriate circular shift of the base SRS, the MU-SC-FDMA signal model is given. Then we derive an efficient MU channel estimation (MUCE) algorithm, which needs only a pair of FFT/IFFT operation to obtain all the users' channel impulse responses. Moreover, the computer simulation results show that only a small degradation in bit error performance is incurred by MUCE. Finally, we set up a Instruments-in-MATLAB Software-Defined Radio (IM-SDR) platform to verify the feasibility of the MUCE algorithm. Real-world measurement results of a two-user experiment show that the MUCE can simultaneously and accurately estimate the two-user channel responses specified by the RF channel emulator.

Consumer network system for evacuation guidance after natural disasters 自然灾害后疏散引导消费网络系统

Map data for evacuation guidance can't be used when a disaster occurred. In this study, research purposes are making alternative map data using GPS of disaster victims' cellular phone and finding evacuation route. The researches are how to make the alternative map data and evaluate route. In this work, the routes obtained by GPS are divided onto evacuation areas, temporary shelters, intersection, fork, meeting place. Evacuation routes are decided by evacuation time, evacuation distance, evacuation speed and traffic record.

A depth adaptation system based on perceptual horopter effect 基于感知反射效应的深度自适应系统

This paper presented a depth adaptation system. At first, the proposed method uses saliency detection algorithm to determine visual attention, and then it applies depth shifting to reduce convergence and accommodation conflict. We also took human perceptual effect into consideration, and proposed an iso-perceptual disparity curve for horopter remapping. By using subjective tests, subjects are asked to score overall preference and comfortable feelings on the stereo images.

CU depth-based ALF decision for fast HEVC encoding 基于CU深度的ALF决策用于快速HEVC编码

In this paper, we propose a coding unit (CU) depth-based adaptive loop filter (ALF) decision method to reduce the encoder complexity. In high efficiency video coding (HEVC), ALF is designed based on Wiener filter to minimize the distortion between the original frame and the coded frame. In order to design the optimal filter for each CU, the filter design process is repeated 12 times per CU. The repetition of the filter design process occupies about 77 percent in the total ALF computation time, which substantially increases the encoder complexity. The proposed method simplifies the filter design with the CU depth-based ALF decision, which is based on the observation by exploiting ineffective computations. Experimental results show that the proposed method reduces the encoding time for the repetition of the filter design process by about 13 percent of that of the HEVC test model (i.e., HM 5.0) with 0.1 percent BD-rate increase.

An iterative two-dimensional equalizer for bit patterned media based on contraction mapping 基于收缩映射的位图形介质的迭代二维均衡器

Patterned media storage (PMS) is one of the promising technologies to overcome the limitations of the conventional magnetic recording. For a high areal density PMS, both inter-track interference (ITI) and inter-symbol interference (ISI), and noise severely degrade the bit error rate (BER) performance of the system. In this paper, we present a simple iterative two-dimensional equalizer, which is based on the contraction mapping theorem, to mitigate these adverse effects. The performance of the proposed equalizer is evaluated using computer simulations for various conditions. Simulation results suggest that the proposed equalizer is a good candidate for ultra-high capacity PMS with a moderate complexity.

A miniaturized Watson-Watt radio frequency direction finder is presented in this paper for use in automotive communication. The device is used to send a signal from a braking car to other cars in its immediate proximity. The goal is to alert other drivers of a sudden change in the driving pattern which could prove dangerous if not monitored correctly. The hardware was developed as a series of stacked printed circuit boards (PCBs). The angle of arrival for the received signal is determined by analyzing the incoming signal from each dipole array and using a power detector to determine the magnitude and phase of each.

Implementation and evaluation of Raptor code on GPU 猛禽代码在GPU上的实现与评价

Raptor code, a member of the fountain code family, is a significant theoretical improvement over the Luby transform code (LT code) for forward error correction (FEC) transmission. Graphics processing units (GPUs) have become a common place in the consumer market and are finding their way beyond graphics processing into general purpose computing. This paper investigates the suitability of GPU for Raptor code to process large block and symbol sizes in FEC transmission. The serial and parallel implementations of Raptor code are explored on CPU and GPU, respectively. Our work show that the efficient parallelization on the GPU can improve the performance of the decoder significantly by a factor of up to 46. Furthermore, to understand the performance bottlenecks of Raptor code on both the GPU and CPU platforms, the decoding speed is evaluated in different block and symbol sizes.

In this paper we use the accelerometer of a smart phone to design and implement a fall monitor with mobility detection function for the user. We not only analyze the change of acceleration but also analyze the four typical actions of humans. These are going upstairs, going downstairs, standing up, sitting down, running and jumping. Then we compare the four actions with the characteristics of a fall. These are weightlessness, impact, immobility and overturning of the body. Because the waist is the center of gravity in the human body, our system is used more effectively when we place the smart phone at the waist. Our system is based on an open source system platform and the accelerometer in the smart phone.

This paper presents an innovative hearing system. The hearing system generates audible sound in the ears without any receivers, and no one can hear the generated sound except the user. The theory for generating audible sound is based on a self-demodulation effect which arises from the nonlinearity of the transmission medium. The nonlinear acoustics of the human body allow ultrasonic waves to interact in the transmission medium. When two ultrasonic waves with different frequencies are transmitted through the human body, an audio signal at the difference frequency of two waves is produced in the ears due to the self-demodulation effect.

Noncoherent UWB with block coded modulation in cooperative communications systems 协作通信系统中具有分组编码调制的非相干超宽带

Recently, the concept of the cooperative communications has been applied extensively for the ultra-wideband (UWB) system. In this paper, the cooperative scheme of the noncoherent UWB impulse radio system with block-coded modulation (BCM) having a codeword matching and signal aggregation (CMSA) detection is discussed under different fading environments, which has not been studied yet. To enlarge the operation range of the USB system, the amplify-and-forward scheme is used as a relay protocol to re-transmit signals from source to destination. Simulation results illustrate that the proposed method performs better than that without a cooperative scheme over the Nakagami-μ fading channel.
