Directional broadband planar slot antenna fed by dual-offset tri-plate lines on double-layer substrate in 20GHz band 20GHz频段双偏置三板线双向馈电的定向宽带平面缝隙天线

UWB technologies are being applied to automotive radar systems in the quasi-millimeter wave band (24.25~29GHz). A broadband directional slot antenna is developed for array element of the antenna. The antenna is composed of a slot on the top of the double layer substrate which is fed electromagnetically from the dual offset tri-plate lines. Broad bandwidth is achieved by double resonances of the whole slot and the quasi slot between the dual offset feeding lines. The antenna was optimized by using electromagnetic simulator HFSS of the finite element method in 20 GHz band. The performance of the developed antenna was evaluated by simulation. The bandwidth of |S11| less than -10 dB was 16 GHz (70%).

Increasing the gain of a semicircular slot UWB antenna using an FSS reflector 利用FSS反射器增加半圆槽超宽带天线的增益

In this paper we demonstrate the gain enhancement of a semicircular slot antenna using a multilayer frequency-selective surface (FSS). A theoretical analysis of the FSS with a UWB semicircular slot antenna is presented. The multilayer FSS provides an appropriate reflection phase to act as a reflector and is able to enhance the gain of the slot antenna. Simulations show a linear phase response from 3.5 GHz to 12 GHz that is sufficient for ultra wideband operation. A significant improvement of 3 to 4 dB gain over the whole frequency range is demonstrated. The composite antenna has a theoretical gain of 8 dBi and a very small maximum gain variation of ±1.5 dB over the 3.5 to 10 GHz frequency range. Its compact configuration provides flexibility for mounting the reflector close to the slot antenna and makes it more suitable for modern UWB devices.

Towards an ultra-low-power electronically controllable array antenna for WSN 面向无线传感器网络的超低功耗可控阵列天线

This paper discusses steps towards a low-power beam-switching array antenna suitable for wireless sensor network (WSN) applications. Such an antenna will help to improve the signal to noise ratio (SNR), and thus throughput, latency and other important wireless network performance parameters. The power consumption is a factor critical for the long autonomous operation of battery-powered WSN nodes, and has thus been given special attention. A prototype was manufactured and has demonstrated a good match between the simulated and experimentally measured gain and return loss. The power consumption of the RF electronics was also measured and found to be below 1.1 mW.

This paper investigates the concept of creating substrates with heterogeneous dielectric properties. By suitably locating areas of low and high permittivity, the second resonance can be moved closer to the 1st resonance and multiband antennas can be created. By combining, the resonances, the bandwidth of the antenna can be increased.

Erasure resilient channel coding strategy for distributed sensor networks 分布式传感器网络的擦除弹性信道编码策略

Rateless erasure codes have recently attracted much attention in the communications research community. Luby transform codes being the most well known, were the first practical realisation of record-breaking sparse-graph codes, particularly for binary erasure channels. These codes have the advantage of not requiring a priori knowledge of specific channel conditions and lend itself to application in nondeterministic distributed wireless sensor networks. This paper revisits the Luby transform code, and proposes a novel multi-path routing scheme where each part of the code follows any available transmission path. The packet delivery is not guaranteed. However, if ample packets are received from the multifarious paths, decoding the information can be accomplished at high probability. Our results indicate that just a few conditions are sufficient to define an optimal routing path with regard to the proposed encoding and decoding strategy. This work is of much interest to Wireless Sensor Networks (WSN's), due to typical topological characteristics.

The planar dual-polarized cavity backed sinuous antenna - a design summary 平面双极化腔背弯曲天线设计综述

DuHamel's dual-polarized cavity-backed sinuous antenna was a remarkable invention, which is now widely used in RWR, DF and ELINT systems. The physical principles of especially the four-arm planar sinuous are well understood, including its interaction with the absorbing cavity that is used to achieve essentially frequency independent input impedance and unidirectional radiation patterns over multi-octave bandwidths. The absorber loaded cavity reduces the efficiency of the equivalent bi-directional free-space planar sinuous by around 50%, which is usually acceptable for EW receivers but not in low-noise applications like radio-astronomy where absorbing materials cause havoc with noise-temperature.

UWB radar based cardiac motion detection in medical diagnostic 基于超宽带雷达的心脏运动检测在医学诊断中的应用

A contact-less, interference-free approach for the detection of cardiac mechanics and respiration by means of multi-channel ultra-wideband (UWB) radar was developed [2], suitable to deliver trigger signals for cardiac MR imaging. Compared to previous systems we increased the number of antennas to four transmitters and eight receiver antennas. This allows measurements of up to 32 channels and makes UWB motion detection less sensitive to the particular positioning of the antennas relative to the heart.

This paper examines antenna system layout methodologies that support antenna designs and configurations on advanced high capacity spacecraft with the goal of providing multi-frequency, multi-polarization and multi spot beams such that the bandwidth flexibility, high throughput communication links, area coverage and EMC compatibility of the antenna systems are optimized whilst also minimizing cost.

Wideband analysis of a stop band filter and a resonator at THz frequencies 太赫兹频率下阻带滤波器和谐振器的宽带分析

A THz stop band filer (TSBF) and a resonator consisting of metal plates with gratings are analyzed using the finite-difference time-domain method. The accuracy of a wideband response obtained from the pulse excitation technique is verified through comparison with the results from the continuous wave excitation technique. It is shown that the bandgap in the transmittance becomes wide as the air core width between the two metal plates is reduced. A resonator, in which a defect section is introduced to the TSBF, is also analyzed with special attention to the air core width. Numerical results show that tunable properties of resonance frequencies can readily be obtained.

Radiowave propagation and deployments aspects of gigabit capacity radio links operating at 70/80 GHz 在70/80 GHz工作的千兆容量无线电链路的无线电波传播和部署方面

Broadband communication over mobile networks is increasing dramatically putting a lot of pressure on the network infrastructure, such as the mobile backhaul. This paper addresses radiowave propagation and some deployment aspects for backhaul millimetre radio links offering capacitates of Gbit/s. It shows that propagation impairment can be dealt with, but the current ITU-R recommend precipitation attenuation method apparently under predicts.
