Investigation of process variation on register files in 65nm technology 65nm工艺中寄存器文件工艺变化的研究

Modern on-chip memories demand a increasing need for higher performance, lower power consumption and improved robustness with shrinking feature size. The process variations are expected to be more pronounced in advanced process technology commonly used in memories such as SRAM. Variations in the critical process parameters such as threshold voltage or effective channel length can result in large number of faulty cells in a memory. These variations can result in reduced maximum attainable operating frequency, yield and circuit performance. In this paper, the impact of mismatch and process-variation on standard 6T cell is investigated. Then a register file is designed in 65nm Technology with six-transistor SRAM and investigated for the leakage power and performance under process variation. Each entry of the register file is analyzed for the performance degradation and clear, partially affected and fully affected registers are identified under process variation due to delay and leakage. Random variation alone is modeled as they are the dominant cause of process variation. It is found that the access time increases with the size of the register file and the leakage power under process variation is 22 times larger than the normal leakage power with unaffected system.

Parameter extraction of single electron transistor based on Master Equation approach 基于主方程法的单电子晶体管参数提取

In this paper, single electron transistor is modeled using Master Equation (ME) approach. In our scheme the steady state Master Equation was expressed, in which the resultant value is necessary for the current calculation. A ME for the probability distribution of electrons in the SET dot is obtained from the stoachastic process, allowing the calculation of device characteristics. Helmholtz's free energy is considered to determine the transport of electrons through a SET device. Work done by voltage source and free energy change is calculated to get improved IV characteristics of SET.

Modified PID controller for avoiding overshoot in temperature of barrel heating system 改进PID控制器,防止桶式加热系统温度超调

The control of temperature in the different zones of barrel heating system in plastic molding machine is a challenging task, as it requires quick rise time without overshoot. The conventional PID controller does not produce the desired performance for this application. This paper ends in presenting the idea of using PI-PD controller-a modified structure of PID controller for controlling the temperature of the melt in the barrel. Fuzzy logic technique is used for obtaining the optimum values of the controller parameters. The controller is modeled in SIMULINK. From the simulation results, it is observed that the fuzzy tuned PI-PD controller outperforms the other controllers namely Ziegler-Nichols tuned PID controller, Fuzzy Logic controller and Fuzzy tuned PID controller.

Assessing the wave heights of the ocean using neural networks and fuzzy logic 利用神经网络和模糊逻辑来评估海洋的浪高

Soft computing techniques like neural networks are popular in the field of oceanography. To obtain the spectrum of oceanic parameters particularly the ocean wave heights are selected for the coastal regions of Tamil Nadu. The paper maintains keenness in applying the computer knowledge to ocean's welfare. The data sets are trained, based on the actual wave periods and heights. Such effort of measuring is achieved with the calibration of the tonal variation and the predicted wave table with the actual measurements and assess the error corrections to the predicted wave table with the actual measurements of the sea coast. This data is required to the planners of offshore structures, boat authorities, navigators, fisherman and the engineers producing oil from the offshore platforms. Once the training set is obtained, it is verified with actual height and necessary pruning has been introduced after that. The predicted and actual values of wave height reached, the inferred profile and the different stages applied are kept as reference block, by applying the root mean square corrections the data has been validated. A tolerance level of 7 to 10 percent error is envisaged in the measurements. The model is found successful.

Communication is one of the important areas of electronics and always been a focus for exchange of information among parties at locations physically apart. There may be different mode of communication. The communication may be wired or wireless between two links. Initially the mobile communication was limited to between one pair of users on single channel pair. Mobile communication has undergone many generations. With the rapid development of communication networks, it is expected that fourth generation mobile systems will be launched within decades. Fourth generation (4G) mobile systems focus on seamlessly integrating the existing wireless technologies including GSM, wireless LAN, and Bluetooth. This contrasts with third generation (3G), which merely focuses on developing new standards and hardware. 4G systems will support comprehensive and personalized services providing stable system performance and quality service. The future of mobile communication is FAMOUS-Future Advanced Mobile Universal Systems. The data rates targeted are 20 MBPS. That will be the FOURTH GENERATION (4G) in the mobile communication technology. 4G must be hastened, as some of the video applications cannot be contained within 3G.This paper highlights that current systems must be implemented with a view of facilitate to seamless integration into 4G infrastructure. Finally, it narrates how 4G mobile communication will bring a new level of connectivity and convenience in communication.

Design of active matrix liquid crystal display with patterned vertical alignment mode for optical response 光学响应模式垂直排列有源矩阵液晶显示器的设计

In this paper a behavioral circuit model for active matrix liquid crystal display with patterned vertical alignment mode is proposed to analyze the optical response of the display. To analyze the accurate response of the circuit model with two LC groups is introduced. In this model delay concept is included to improve the transitions. Using this model the normalized transmittance for each transition can be calculated and analyzed to know about the optical response of AMLCD with patterned vertical alignment mode. The PVA-AMLCD panel is designed using verilog-A language and it is embedded with the behavioral circuit model. When the circuit is simulated we can analyze the optical response for the given pixel.

Comparison of fast radix 2 ACS with adaptive fast radix 2 ACS in Viterbi Decoder Viterbi解码器中快速基数2 ACS与自适应快速基数2 ACS的比较

Adaptive Viterbi decoder is used for decoding codes of long constraint length, where as viterbi decoder is used for decoding short constraint lengths. In order to minimize power consumption and BER, we have implemented FastRadix 2 ACS in Viterbi decoder and Adaptive Viterbi decoder. The area consumption was more in Viterbi compared to Adaptive Viterbi decoder. But the power utilization reduced drastically to 20% where as in Viterbi decoder the power consumed was 80%. In our previous work we have implemented Adaptive fast ACS, Adaptive Radix2 acs in Viterbi decoder. But the experimental result proves power consumption is less in Adaptive FastRadix 2 ACS in Viterbi decoder than FastRadix 2 ACS in Viterbi decoder.

Graphical password, text password are authentication of users on websites because of its simplicity and easy. User's passwords are easy to hack by using different malicious programs and threats. First, Users select easy to remember password because nowadays they using many accounts on different websites. To login to websites they need to remember all passwords. So users would choose easy to remember passwords, but these passwords are not safe. Reusing passwords across different websites may cause users to lose their information which is stored in websites once the password hacked or compromised by attacker. Second, hackers can install malicious software to get the passwords, when user typing their username and password into unknown public computers. In this paper, developing web based security analysis of one Time password authentication schemes using mobile application. A user authentication protocol which involves user's cell phone and short message service to prevent password stealing and reuse attacks. User's only need to remember a long term password for login on different websites.

A speller based mechanized messenger for smart phones using brain mobile interface (BMI) 一种基于脑移动接口(BMI)的智能手机自动信息系统

The proposed system aims to condense the venture of typing a message by making it mechanized via a speller based mechanized messenger using Brain Machine Interface (BMI). Electroencephalography (EEG) tool is employed which images the brain while performing cognitive task. To make the device compactable and ease of use a wireless EEG headset is chosen. The wireless EEG headset is interfaced with the smart phone which consists of inbuilt speller application. The P300 event related potential is used in wireless EEG headset for realistic execution of EEG based mechanized messenger. Whenever the user desires to transmit a text the inbuilt speller in the smart phone comes into play. The acquired text is then transmitted after being processed with the spell checker on the smart phone. The proposed mechanized messenger will allow us to text while performing several operations as well as the time taken for typing will be considerably abridged.

Comparison of automatic blood vessel segmentation methods in retinal images 视网膜图像中血管自动分割方法的比较

Blood vessel segmentation can be used for automatic retinal disease screening system. In this paper, comparison of automatic blood vessel segmentation methods in retinal images is presented and discussed. Morphological operation for the automatic segmentation of blood vessels in retinal images has been proposed and the results are compared with matched filter technique using local entropy thresholding. Blood vessels in retinal images are enhanced by the application of matched filter. The gray levels are spatially distributed by using local entropy based thresholding. Label filtering is performed by connected pixel labeling to eliminate the misclassified and isolated pixels. The blood vessels are segmented by using morphological opening based on structuring element. These methods were evaluated on the publicly available DRIVE database and the database contains retinal images along with the ground truth data that has been precisely marked by the experts. Morphological operation is more suitable for blood vessel segmentation as compared to the local entropy thresholding.
