Removal of Microbiological Contaminants in a Sewage Treatment System with Constructed Wetlands as Tertiary Treatment 人工湿地三级处理污水处理系统中微生物污染物的去除

Microbiological investigation into the fate of indicator and pathogenic microorganisms in wastewater was carried out in a full-scale sewage treatment system with constructed wetlands as tertiary treatment. In this study, the concentration of indicator and pathogenic microorganisms were determined in the various stages of the system. The investigated systems showed a high removal rate for indicator organisms (a log removal rate of 5.48 for total coliforms and faecal coliforms, 4.80 for E. coli and 4.26 for fecal streptococci was observed). The pathogenic microorganisms removal efficiency was relatively low (a log removal rate of 1.81 for Salmonella spp. and 1.56 for C. perfringens was observed). The performance of secondary treatment in removing indicator and pathogenic microorganisms was superior to that of primary and tertiary treatment. Removal of indicator and pathogenic microorganisms was 0.16-1.18 log units for primary treatment, 1.70-3.33 log units for secondary treatment, and -2.00-1.76 log units for tertiary treatment. The indicator and pathogenic microorganisms studied behaved differently during the treatment process, and Clostridium perfringens and salmonellae were more resistant to wastewater treatment than the indicator microorganisms.

Numerical Simulation of Airflow Distribution in the Junction of Electrostatic Fabric Filter 静电织物除尘器结部气流分布的数值模拟

3-D structure model of Electrostatic Fabric Filter was established, by which the numerical simulation of airflow distribution in the junction was carried on. A 2-equation model was adopted to simulate the flow field, and the computation was based on the SIMPLE algorithm. The flow deflector in the junction of Electrostatic and Fabric Filter was designed to 4 different angles. The simulation results show that: when the velocity in the electric field is 1 m/s and the angle of the flow deflector is 45deg, the air distribution from the ESP into the fabric filter room is more uniform; when the velocity in the electric field is 0.5 m/s and the angle of the flow deflector is 55deg, the air distribution from the ESP into the fabric filter room is more uniform; when the velocity in the electric field is 1.5 m/s and the angle of the flow deflector is 35deg, the air distribution from the ESP into the fabric filter room is more uniform. The numerical simulation results are reasonable and can be used as the reference to optimize the designing of Electrostatic Fabric Filter.

cDNA Microarray Image Processing Using Morphological Operator and Edge-Enhancing Diffusion 基于形态学算子和边缘增强扩散的cDNA微阵列图像处理

Complementary DNA (cDNA) microarray imaging technology is a revolutionary innovation for genomic research that allows monitoring of expression levels for thousands of genes simultaneously. The raw data of cDNA microarray is shown as red and green channel images that are quantitatively analysed to obtain the gene expression measurements. It can affect the subsequent analysis such as identification of genes differentially expressed. cDNA microarray image analysis includes three tasks: image filtering, segmentation and information extraction. This paper presents a novel-filtering framework that is capable of processing cDNA microarray images. The experimental result is compared with those obtained from the widely used Gaussian de-noising techniques, wavelet de-noising techniques and morphological filtering technique. Simulation in this paper indicates that the proposed edge-enhancing diffusion filter and morphological operators are computationally attractive, yield excellent performance and are able to preserve structural information while efficiently suppressing noise in cDNA microarray data. The result of experiment shows that it is robust and precise.

Reduction of Nitrate in Water by Nanoscale Zero-Valent Iron Particles and Zeolite 纳米级零价铁颗粒和沸石还原水中硝酸盐的研究

In this study, nitrate reduction using laboratory synthesized nanoscale zero-valent iron (NZVI) was discussed. On the other side, denitrification of nitrate with Fe 0 nanoparticles combined with zeolite was also investigated. The effects of iron-to-nitrate ratio and the affiliation of zeolite were studied systemically. The results show that nitrate with the concentration of 80 mg/L was mostly removed within 60 minutes, and the endproducts mainly are ammonia with Fe 0 but little ammonia with Fe 0 and zeolite. The role of nanoscale iron in the nitrate reduction should be take part in two major processes: (a) directly participate in the redox reaction; and (b) adsorption of nitrate. And the role of zeolite in nitrate reduction was only the absorption ammonia.

Poly Ferric Silicate Sulphate (PFSiS): Characterization, Coagulation Behavior and Applications in Oily Wastewater Treatment 聚硅酸铁硫酸盐(PFSiS):表征、混凝行为及其在含油废水处理中的应用

A new kind of polymer inorganic coagulant-PFSiS (Poly Ferric Silicate Sulphate) coagulants, at different Fe/Si molar ratios and B values ( B =OH/Fe) were prepared. Then, the turbidity removal efficiency of PFSiS in treating kaolin suspension was investigated. The results showed that turbidity was removed highly by using PFSiS under the certain conditions. Moreover, FTIR analysis indicated that Si participated hydrolytic process of Fe(III). Oil and COD removal efficiency of PFSiS in treating oily wastewater were also evaluated. Under the optimum conditions, oil removal efficiency in the range of 95-97% and more than 60% of COD was removed. Additionally, the PFSiS coagulants exhibited a better coagulation performance than polymer inorganic coagulant, i.e. PFS (Poly Ferric Sulphate).

Based on the Time-Frequency Analysis to Distinguish Different Epileptiform EEG Signals 基于时频分析的不同癫痫样脑电图信号识别

Time-frequency analysis is a robust signal processing tool for the estimation of time-frequency relation and is widely used to analyze electroencephalographic (EEG). EEG recordings provide valuable information about electrical activity of the neurons in the brain, so it is an important tool in studying and recognizing several neurological disorders like epilepsy. The main goal of this paper was to distinguish different characteristics EEG between pilocarpine-induced and penicillin- induced epileptiform discharges using time-frequency analysis. The results showed that in the course of epilepsy, changes of the frequency and the energy were characteristic. High frequency and high energy distribution period was unsynchronized in pilocarpine-induced epileptiform discharges, especially before onset, EEG appeared the highest frequency, but energy was the lowest. However, frequency was lower in the whole process and energy increased significantly after the attack in penicillin- induced epileptiform discharges. These differences between pilocarpine-induced and penicillin-induced epileptiform discharges may relate to respective excitatory mechanism which needs studying further.

Extended Normalized Mutual Information for Lung SPECT - CT Registration 肺SPECT - CT配准的扩展归一化互信息

In this paper an extension of the normalized mutual information is proposed to register standalone obtained low dose CT with already superimposed lung inhalation SPECT and perfusion SPECT images. In order to validate our method, superimposed inhalation SPECT, perfusion SPECT and low dose CT image triples were collected obtained by a hybrid SPECT/CT camera at the same time. A known transformation was applied to the low dose CT to simulate a misalignment, followed by an optimal transformation search performing our extended normalized mutual information-based (eNMI) method. For comparison and evaluation, the low dose CT was also registered to both inhalation and perfusion images one-by-one applying a dual-normalized mutual information-based (dNMI) method. Comparative results have shown that our eNMI method worked with minimal registration error and number of iterations, hence it can be successfully applied to stand alone performed low dose CT - SPECT registrations. Alleviate the Effect of Illumination Variation in ICA Subspace 缓解ICA子空间中光照变化的影响

Illumination variation brings in significant difficulties to pattern recognition and consequent robot operations. In this paper an illumination factor for real-world images taken under a wide variety of lighting conditions in ICA subspace was extracted. After normalizing with the combination coefficient of the illumination factors, all the images that originated from the same object but with different illumination intensities were easily classified.

CO2 Emission Reduction and Energy Recovery from Straw Cogeneration Project 秸秆热电联产项目CO2减排与能源回收

Waste management systems are a non-negligible source of greenhouse gases. In particular, methane and carbon dioxide emissions occur due to the biomass residues dumped or left to decay under mainly aerobic conditions or burnt in an uncontrolled manner. A case study of straw cogeneration project in Laixi city, Shandong province of China is discussed in this paper. The project will collect straw and combust it to produce electricity and heat to the users. The analyses are conducted based on methodology ACM0006 of Clean Development Mechanism for the estimation of greenhouse effect reduction for the project's baseline. It is found that the project capacity by combustion and flaring combined will reduce emissions of about 4.418 million tones of CO 2 e over the next 21-year lifetime, and at the same time, 126,720 MWh electricity and 908,000 GJ heat will be produced per year. The necessity of the project and collection of straw are also discussed in this paper.

Effect of Chitosan Coating on the Antioxidant Enzymes and Quality of 'Dashi Early Ripening' Plums 壳聚糖包衣对大石早熟梅抗氧化酶及品质的影响

In order to evaluate the effect of chitosan coating on the antioxidant enzymes and quality of 'Dashi Early Ripening' plums (Prunus domestica L.) during storage at ambient temperature. The fruit were coated with chitosan solutions after harvest and stored at 25degC. The result showed that the decrease of firmness, soluble solids content and titratable acidity was slowed down by chitosan coating during the storage. The activity of SOD, CAT, PPO in the chitosan coating plum were higher than that in the control, but POD activity in the chitosan coating plum was lower than that in the control. Chitosan coating has the potential to maintain postharvest quality during storage at ambient temperature. The chitosan coating has more effective application in our study, which could not only be due to reducing the respiration rate and inhibiting the softing process, but also to increasing the activity of SOD, CAT, PPO in the fruit.
