Patient health monitoring system 患者健康监测系统

This is an experimental study for acquisition, measurement, processing and display of human health parameters like ECG, Body temperature as well as Saline status. Primarily ECG signal is detected using surface electrodes. As the signal is very feeble in amplitude so an instrumentation amplifier is designed to amplify the acquired ECG signal. Second order Butterworth filter is used to remove the noise present in it. Then, it is detected in MATLAB environment whether the patient is suffering from diseases like bradycardia and tachycardia using AGILENT 34972A LXI Data Acquisition Card (DAQ/DAS) with Bench Link Data Logger3 software. Next, human body temperature is measured using LM35DZ IC. After amplification, the temperature value is displayed on PC in both imperial and metric units using Graphical user interface (GUI) developed in Windows Visual Basic platform. Moreover, automatic and continuous monitoring of a patient's saline status is designed using IR trans-receiver block.

A new approach in color image steganography with high level of perceptibility and security 一种新的彩色图像隐写方法,具有较高的可感知性和安全性

The paper introduces a very efficient and a new steganography technique, while keeping the quality of the cover image with strong security. Though the use of steganography is to hide secret messages in a cover object but the major drawbacks of existing methods are very less embedded payload and low security. To overcome this problem, perceptible degradation of stego-image is occurred. The proposed research work is based on the 24 bit color image steganography with secure hash function in spatial domain. In the present work the cover image has been decomposed into 2 by 2 non-overlapping blocks. Afterwards the first pixel component of each sub-block of RGB channel is used as the indicator. The two least significant bits of the first component specifies the order of secret bit(s) embedding into the rest three pixel components of the given sub-block. The hash values as obtained from six most significant bits decide the number of bits to be embedded in second, third and fourth components. Using this method the perceptible quality degradation has been minimized and hence data capacity has increased and security has also been enhanced.

SVD based tea quality prediction using electronic tongue signal 基于SVD的电子舌信号茶叶品质预测

The electronic tongue (ET) system is basically a multi-electrode system where the response of each electrode in presence of tea samples are multi dimensional combinations of different chemical compounds and represented by large number of measured points. It is expected that an ET system will examine and identify these signals precisely. Relevant feature extraction with appropriate signal processing of the responses generated by the electrode array may help to achieve this task of ET. In this work, a feature extraction method using singular value decomposition (SVD) method has been used to represent the ET signal before sending them to appropriate pattern classifier. The efficiency of the proposed method is verified on three types of ET data sets using support vector machine (SVM) classifiers. More than 98% of accuracy is obtained in all the three data sets which prove the efficacy of the proposed method.

Classification of tea samples using SVM as machine learning component of E-tongue 使用SVM作为E-tongue机器学习组件的茶叶样本分类

This article introduces a new approach for identification of tea sample using pulse voltammetry method in an electronic tongue based instrumentation. The classifier system consists of a principle component (PCA) based feature extraction module followed by support vector machine based discrimination. The PCA score of unknown tea sample is undergone through different pair-wise (binary) classification using SVM for repeated times. For six different categories of tea samples in the present case, unknown sample is examined for fifteen times. The result of classification is six membership grades. Finally these membership grades are analyzed by decision directed acrylic graph method (DDAG) for decision making task about the exact authentication of unknown tea sample belonging to six categories. The proposed method could be equally followed for more than six categories.

Wireless transfer of power: Status and challenges 无线电力传输:现状与挑战

Wireless power transmission systems has revolutionized the transmission of power in various application. The concept has gained momentum recently. This work presents an exhaustive insight and detailed discussion on the components of a systems having Wireless Power Transfer (WPT) and the various techniques used for its implementation. The use of WPT in various fields such as medical, defense etc. have been looked into. The aim of the present work is to provide a broad based perspective on the present state of art of the WPT to the researchers and application engineers dealing with wireless transfer of power. The references are presented in a classified manner which will serve the researchers as a quick and useful bibliography. Experiments are also conducted in laboratory to determine the extent of inductive coupling between two coils. This paper presents a comparison of experimental data obtained with both axial and parallel coupling under changing conditions.

Design and realization of a multi-objective controller for a MIMO coupled tank system MIMO耦合油箱系统多目标控制器的设计与实现

This paper presents a design of multi-objective controller for a two input two output interacting Coupled Tank System (CTS) and its real time implementation. The multi-objective control has been achieved by satisfying time domain objective like pole placement and frequency domain objective like H-infinity condition. This multi-objective control has been formulated using Linear Matrix Inequality (LMI) criteria and solved as a convex optimization problem. The multi-objective controller gain thus computed has been implemented in real time dSPACE hardware platform with a laboratory scale process. The resulting controller yields improved performance of the closed loop system for reference tracking with robustness in presence of parameter variation and various uncertainties.

Characterization of stator turn to turn faults of induction motor using cross-correlation analysis based features 基于特征互关分析的异步电动机定子匝间故障表征

Induction Motor current analysis or IMCA-based condition monitoring attained so much importance in recent years for its technical and economic advantages over other techniques. Accurate identification of stator inter-turn faults for induction motors at the initial stage, i.e., minor turns-to-turn fault is of great importance. The objective of this work is to characterize stator turn to turn fault during a few-turn-short-circuit fault condition. Cross-correlograms of stator currents of healthy and different fault conditions have been judiciously used to extract a few significant features. An exclusive experimental test rig has been setup to emulate the fault and to obtain the stator current signatures. The whole analysis is based on these signatures only.

Discrimination of turmeric brands by means of near infrared (NIR) spectroscopy combined with chemometrics 近红外光谱与化学计量学相结合的姜黄品牌鉴别方法

Near Infrared (NIR) spectroscopy combined with chemometrics technique has become a strongest tool for qualitative as well as quantitative assessment in food industry. In this paper, NIR spectroscopy technique is used to discriminate different turmeric brands available at the local market along with a homemade turmeric powder sample. NIR spectroscopic data of turmeric were subjected to different data analysis techniques viz. box plot, principal component analysis (PCA) and linear discriminant analysis (LDA). The separation index value after LDA had reflected an acceptable value to confirm the proper discrimination.

Optic disc segmentation of both online and local dataset using artificial neural network 利用人工神经网络对在线和局部数据集进行视盘分割

There is a requirement for optic disc dataset with manual segmentation delimited by ophthalmologist and ground truth to compare segmented image obtained by pixel classification method with its ground truth. We tried to address this requirement by collecting some retinal images from local eye clinic and made optic disc marked by ophthalmologist. A widely used online dataset images are also marked by ophthalmologist for optic disc. The ground truths for those images are prepared. This paper presents optic disc localization and segmentation of retinal images obtained from local as well as online public dataset by Artificial Neural network, the results of which are quite satisfactory.

Time delay compensation by estimating speed error of a PMDC motor using backward arc length approach 用反弧长法估计PMDC电机速度误差的时滞补偿

In high precision control of DC drives, real-time error calculation is the most vital controlling parameter. Due to the time delay of the control circuit, mostly controlling action has been initiated based on the past error that may hamper the precision of the controller. In this regards, future error has to be estimated to initiate the controlling action based on real-time error. But due to the presence of uncertainty in load and also the presence of mechanical inertia in the system, it is difficult to estimate the future speed error based on the Permanent Magnet Direct Current (PMDC) motor system equation. In this paper, the speed error estimation of PMDC motor has been incorporated based on backward arc length of error graph itself. The proposed error estimation approach applied to PMDC motor speed error tracking will overcome the effect of processing time delay of the controller. This proposed speed error tracking method pointing towards the time delay control of PMDC motor. This technique will help to compensate the effect of processing delay time of used controller.
