This paper presents a new architecture for a pseudo-resistor (PR) implemented with MOS transistors, working in subthreshold region, tunable from Mega $Omega$ to Giga $Omega$ range. The proposed PR is programmed by controlling the $V_{GS}$ of the MOS transistors with a differential pair. An ultra-low frequency bandpass filter which uses the proposed PR with adjustable highpass cut-off frequency for a tuning range of 0.28 Hz to 900 Hz was designed. The simulated total harmonic distortion is $ for an input voltage of $mathbf{224} mV_{pp}$ . Simulations were performed using HSPICE Analog Design Environment and ON-SEMI 0.5 $mu mathbf{m}$ technology parameters which validates the feasibility of the proposed circuit.

Steady state visual evoked potential (SSVEP) is a brain response that allows a practical and high-performance brain-computer interface (BCI) to be designed. SSVEP response is a near sinusoidal waveform at a visual stimulus frequency and is time-locked to stimulus onset. This paper presents a new single channel SSVEP detection method that takes advantage of the behaviour of SSVEP response. The proposed method defines subject-specific sinusoids at the training stage. Detection of a target stimulus frequency is achieved by a correlation value between the electroencephalography (EEG) signal and subject specific sinusoids at the test stage. The performance of the developed method was compared with the well-known power spectral density analysis (PSDA) on a benchmark dataset. Experimental results show that the developed method significantly improves the SSVEP detection accuracy (by about 23%) as well as the information transfer rate (ITR) compared to PSDA methods.

Nowadays older people who remain independently, (by their own) are exposed to being attacked by robberies and physical aggressions; as well as the elderly who suffer from memory loss diseases and in more serious cases, mobility problems to the extent of using a wheelchair. Due to this issue an assistant control has been designed and implemented for the elderly who are at risk, which by means of movements and buttons offers security a comfort alerts for the people in charge of the elderly; promising improvements in future solutions, keeping in mind that a generalized single control would not be functional, a suitable control would be designed.

An aircraft aerodynamic forces and moments depend on the pressure distribution on the airframe, its exact description defies the available computational and experimental means. However, for many purposes a more simple description can be used. Dimensional analysis allows to express the aerodynamic forces and moments as functions of the dynamic pressure, the aircraft dimensions and dimensionless, attitude dependent, aerodynamic coefficients, referred to the wing dimensions. Therefore, the aerodynamic coefficients are a very important part of an aircraft model. They can be estimated from the aircraft dimensions and geometry. But these estimations must be experimentally verified. This paper deals with the estimation of the aerodynamic coefficients related to the longitudinal behaviour of the aircraft. To estimate these, a linear model of the aircraft is used, and from it, the aircraft modes characteristics identified. The linear model can be split in two, almost independent models, the longitudinal and the lateral-directional model. The coupling due to the propeller. This gives linear model gives us a description at equilibrium points of flight. Yet the model used in the experiments is nonlinear. The paper presents the analysis and results of implementing basic manoeuvers with the aircraft’s elevator to excite the longitudinal modes and allow the estimation of the aircraft modes and the stability and control derivatives.

In this workshop we propose a USB based control platform with a high speed USB communication interface using the Linux based free software Scilab/XCos/RTAI. The workshop consists of six hands on presentations on the use of the experimental platform for teaching the main automatic control concepts such as stability, model, transfer function, current loop, parameter tuning, proportional control action, integral control action and derivate control action.
