This study examined the perceptions of mental health professionals through their experiences of adapting counseling treatments to meet the cultural needs of their refugee clients. For this interpretative phenomenological study, eleven licensed clinicians participated in in-depth, semi-structured interviews that utilized multicultural counseling and vicarious trauma theories. Results were presented in superordinate and subordinate themes. The results give context to the developmental process participants experienced and insight into the changes in clinical conceptualization and transformative professional identity which emerged from the challenges and areas of support they experienced during each stage of their professional progression. Suggestions for counseling psychologists, supervisors, mental health professionals, and academic trainers to use in their work included reflective examination of the influences and impact of clinicians’ cultural identities on clients, as well the cultural influences on the mental health paradigms in academic training.

When solving structural human rights issues such as the abduction and rescue of patients with mental disorders, it is especially prone to problems such as the simplification of governance initiatives and the neglect of the real demands of subjects. The online field investigation of the Xuzhou chained woman incident shows that public opinion and governance actions of the state were focused on the governance of trafficking crimes, while the core issue of rights protection for women with mental disorders has been ignored, reflecting the dependence of social governance and human rights protection on the path of criminal law in China. Terrorists need money to fund their actions. Financing terrorism in the last two decades has become more complicated worldwide due to the involvement of individuals and networks, partly by misusing religious charity. This study seeks to raise their modus, government countermeasures and challenges in Indonesia. It used terrorist financing theories and a qualitative approach with multi-data collection methods. It found that in the last two decades, terrorist groups in Indonesia, including Jemaah Islamiyah (JI), Jemaah Ansharu Daulah (JAD), and Jemaah Ansharu Khilafah have misused Islamic charities for terrorism actions, including training, falsifying data, purchasing weapons and explosive material, and travelling to conflicting zones. They capitalized on Islamic narratives to cover their terror mission. The Indonesian government has taken strategies and measures to address terrorism financing, such as ratifying international regulations, making follow-up regulations, establishing taskforce and enforcing the laws, covering investigating leaders, arresting the suspecting leaders and freezing the organizations. However, government efforts still pose several challenges in terms of the sensitivity of the issue, the problems in finding proof, inadequate regulation, poor prevention measures and poor law enforcement in the social media.
