The traumatic spondylolisthesis C2/3 presents a potential disco-ligamentous unstable cervical spine injury. In the past several times conservative treatment of unstable types of these fractures lead to failure or change of the attempted treatment. With experience of more than 20 years in the operative treatment of these unstable injuries we present our long-term results of 34 cases. In most cases anterior fusion C2/3 was performed. With a view of our entirely good to verygood results we presentour recommendations for diagnostic, classification and therapy in a comprehensive discussion

Infektionsschutzgeset-Abstract Despite the crucial importance of infection control measures for general and specialist practitioners, implementation of these measures is inadequate in daily work routine. There are a number of reasons for this: There are no feasible guidelines and regulations which cover the broad spectrum of treatment in practice; documentation of infection control measures or of infections occurring in the course of treatment in practice is unsatisfactory; physicians and technical staff in a practice do not have sufficient knowledge of infection control measures; as a consequence of economic restrictions the necessary measures are not carried out; there is no Infection Prevention Act for practices as the one existing for hospitals (in Germany). Although the prevalence of treatment-related severe infections might be less frequent in practices as compared to the hospital, the number of cases brought to trial by injured patients against practitioners is on the rise. This may be taken as an indication that infection control measures in practices should be granted a priority status. Therefore, it is crucial to establish basic rules for preventive measures taking into account feasibility as well as the economic situation in practices. In this context it is of utmost importance to draw up standard operating procedures as an infection control policy and to be in continuous contact with an experienced expert for infection control or for public health.

The luxation of the hip joint is rare. Since ancient time and from the bible this injury is known. The first exact descriptions from the Middle Ages could not distinguish luxations from fractures of the hip. Publications from the 19th century described the early classifications of those luxations. Since X-ray were discovered there were no more doubt about fractures and hip luxations. The luxation of hip has to be removed in general anaesthetic. With correct knowledge of the direction of hip luxation the reset of the joint is easy. The follow-up treatment contains the protection of the hip to prevent necrosis of the femoral head and early arthritis. We recommend a follow-up for years.
