Hemoglobin E (HbE) disease is an inherited autosomal recessive disorder presented as mild anaemia and occasionally a slightly enlarged spleen but usually do not have disease symptoms and do not require treatment. Crohn’s disease is an uncommon inflammatory bowel disease having relapsing and remitting course usually extending over years involving any part of the gastrointestinal tract presenting as abdominal pain, diarrhea and weight loss, a rare disease in Bangladesh. Here we are presenting a case of 23-year- old female of HbE disease with melaena and severe anaemia who later diagnosed as Crohn’s disease concurrent with HbE disease.

Introduction: Intrauterine device (IUD) migration is a rare situation which can cause some serious complication such as colon perforation and high risk of infection. Its treated surgically by laparoscopy or laparotomy depending of the difficulties and complications. Presentation of Case: We show the case of a 45 year old woman, G2 P2 carrying an IUD for 15 years, who consulted for abdominal pain and fever. Abdominal imaging revealed the presence of intraperitoneal effusion of medium abundance and pneumoperitoneum. Diagnostic laparoscopy was done and the IUD was found to be embedded in the wall of the sigmoid colon which was removed after laparotomy conversion by excision of the involved segment followed by the suturing and drainage. Conclusion: In rare cases IUD can migrate, still asymptomatic for years or cause sometimes serious complications like intestinal perforation or abscess and peritonitis, this risk must be avoided by treating all migrating IUD even asymptomatic ones.

Sigmoid volvulus is a rare complication of pregnancy and the puerperium. We report a case of sigmoid volvulus complicating the the postpartum periodin a 35-year-old patient who presented on day 5 postoperative of a cesarean section performed in the EL HAROUCHI maternity at the IBN ROCHD CHU in CASABLANCA, in a table of occlusive syndrome. The diagnosis was made on abdominopelvic CT. An exploratory laparotomy revealed a necrotic volvulus of the severely distended sigmoid colon. In our case, the sigmoid volvulus is likely to have been precipitated by the rapid change in the size of the uterus after childbirth. Prompt surgical evaluation of an acute abdomen during the postpartum period is essential; delayed diagnosis and treatment can lead to significant maternal morbidity and mortality.

Background: The demand for breast implant removal increased globally. This study assessed an infrared diode laser's intraoperative and immediate postoperative features for fat harvesting when autologous breast lipograft is performed following breast explantation surgery. Methods: A prospective analytical nested case-control study was conducted comparing patients submitted to laser-assisted liposuction (cases, n=5) and conventional liposuction (controls, n=10). The analytical variables collected included the duration of surgery, the total volume of aspirated fat, the total volume of fat injected into the breasts, the time elapsed between the end of the surgery and the request for the first dose of analgesia, the total number of analgesics requested in the recovery room, and visual analogue scale for pain administered 6 hours after surgery. Results: In the transoperative period, cases have significantly increased rates of surgery time, total volume of aspirated fat, and total volume of fat injected into their breasts. Regarding pain, controls showed significantly higher consumption of analgesics, requested pain medication earlier, and obtained higher rates on the visual analogue scale. Conclusion: Patients submitted to laser-assisted liposuction had lower pain scores and used fewer analgesics than patients who did not use intraoperative lasers.

1.1. Introduction: Elastofibroma dorsi (ED) is a benign, uncommon tumor, which appears in the subscapular and infrascapular region. Etiology is still under discussion. Total surgical excision is the optional treatment for symptomatic EFD. 1.2. Presentation of Case: A 48-year-old male patient presented with 2 years’ complaint of shoulder pain and paresthesia, mostly aggravated with shoulder movements and infrascapular swelling bilaterally. Both masses were totally excised with bilateral posterolateral subscapular incision. Symptoms and significant discomfort from the surgical procedure was completely resolved within a few weeks’ interval from the operation. 1.3. Discussion: it is a rare tumor, and its etiology suspected to be due to repetitive trauma and still under question, image is the best method to diagnose it. 1.4. Conclusion: EFD is a benign soft tissue tumor, placed at infrascapular region, treated with total simple excision, biopsy is not needed

1.1. Background: Football is the most famous and most watched sport in the world. Most of the football players are in high risk of getting injured during their professional careers. To play football demands one to be fit. Football players are constantly training to perform at the highest levels and to have enough strength to overcome the demands from the various coaches, staff and fans. During this process, players are exposed to all sorts of trauma and various types of injuries. During the previous few years, the incidence for football related injuries has increased. 1.2. Purpose: Due to lack of previous studies in Sudan, this study is aimed to determine the injury patterns among adult football players in the Premier League in Sudan. 1.3. Objective: To study the injury pattern(s) among adult football players in Khartoum. Injuries resulting from this sport in the Sudan Premier League in Khartoum is the 4th aim of this study. 1.4. Study design: A cross-sectional study design was conducted. 1.5. Methods: This is a cross-sectional study and was conducted in Khartoum State in 2017 involving Premier League football clubs. The target teams included five clubs: Al-Hilal, Meriakh, Al-Ahli, Triat Elbiga and Khartoum Watani. The total number of study participants (i.e. sample size) included 100 adult male football players, with the exception of one team and their players (due to their refusal to participation in this study). The response rate was 80% in the resulting four teams. Data was collected using a questionnaire. 1.6. Results: The prevalence of previous injuries among the players was 23 (23%) and recent injuries rose to 31 players (31%). 1.7. Conclusion: The most common sites for injuries included: the knee, shoulder, hamstring, foot, leg, and back injuries. Among the recent injuries (n=31), the most common type was ruptured muscles reported in 14 (45.5%); ankle injuries 7 (22.6%) and thigh injuries 6 (19.4%) were among the most sites affected. The IV majority of the injuries 23 (74.2%) were on the right side of the body; most of the injuries 23 (82.1%) were caused by trauma and 8 (25.3%) by overuse. Positions played by the injured players includes: midfielder 10 (32.3%); defender 9 (29%); striker 7 (22.6%) and goalkeeper 5 (16.1%). Regarding mechanism of injury: 24 (77.4%) of injuries occurred during matches, 7 (22.6%) during trainings; 17 (54.8%) in pitches with grass; 14 (45.2%) in artificial turf pitches; most of the players 16 (51.6%) changed their footwear every 6 months; 15 (48.4%) of the injuries occurred during sunny weather; 21 (70%) of the injuries happened after player-to-player collisions; collisions while on the pitch accounted for 9 (29%) of injuries. The overall injury prevalence was found to be high, but with lower severities. The most common type of injury found was ruptured muscles.
