1. Abstract 1.1. Context: Marginal zone lymphoma, also known as mucosa associated lymphoid tissue (MALT) lymphoma, is a low-grade neoplasm generally with good prognosis and treatable with radiotherapy – rarely has its initial presentation in the CNS. When it does, a dural presentation is more common. However, it represents an even more infrequent condition when it appears as a primary intraparenchymal lesion and tends to be misdiagnosed: a potential problem because, almost always, a less invasive approach is adequate as treatment. 1.2. Goal: This article brings forward a rare case of intraparenchymal primary CNS marginal zone lymphoma (PCNS MZL), aiming to add information to the literature about this atypical case and its diagnostic and therapeutic approach. 1.3. Method: We made a case report and a literature review. 1.4. Results: This article describes a rare condition that was reported only in few other studies, as well as the process of diagnosis and treatment, which led to a partial remission of the lesion and to a reduction of clinical features. 1.5. Conclusion: Intraparenchymal PCNS MZL is a rare and, possibly, underdiagnosed condition and should be remembered when facing an intraparenchymal brain mass. Further studies are required to develop protocols that ensure a more precise diagnostic reasoning considering this condition. 2. Introduction Primary CNS lymphomas are rare. The vast majority of cases in immunocompetent patients comprise the high grade Diffuse large B-cell lymphomas (DLBCLs), that typically are intraparenchymal. Accounting for the minority of lymphoma cases with initial presentation in the CNS, we have low grade lymphomas, that typically do not involve cerebral tissue and have predominant dural location, resembling meningiomas. [1, 2] [5]. This article is about an extremely rare presentation of an intraparenchymal primary CNS lymphoma: Primary CNS Marginal Zone Lymphoma (PCNS MZL) with no dural presentation – an indolent, low-grade lymphoma. [1-3] [5] MZL is also known as Mucosa Associated Lymphoid Tissue (MALT) lymphoma [11]. We provide a case report and a literature review of intraparenchymal PCNS MZL with a search that included all combinations of the following terms in the baselines PUBMED, MEDLINE and LILACS: ((marginal zone lymphoma) OR (mucosa-associated lymphoid tissue lymphoma) OR (MALT-type lymphoma) OR (MALT lymphoma) OR (MALToma) OR (low grade B cell lymphoma)) AND ((CNS) OR (Central Nervous System)) AND ((primary) OR (initial presentation)) AND (case report). After the primary selection, we excluded articles that didn ́t fit the criteria “intraparenchymal marginal zone lymphoma with initial presentation in the CNS” by analyzing titles and abstracts – that resulted in just five case reports. 3. Case Report The patient is a 40-year-old woman HIV negative with a history of seizure and headache. At admission, she presented with right frontoparietal headache and focal seizure with motor activity in the left upper lim

1.1. Introduction: COVID-19 pandemic affected the activities of every department, but most significantly the health department. It is essential to understand and quantify any such effects on the healthcare for better future planning. 1.2. Objective: We used de-identified retrospective data to 1) quantify the prevalence of common surgeries in the thoracic surgery department, 2) investigate the impact of COVID 19 on the patients’ characteristics, and number and proportion of the thoracic surgeries in our department, and 3) search for the possible causes for any such effects. 1.3. Materials and Methods: We used a HIPPA complaint retrospective data of the patients who had surgery in the Thoracic Surgery division of Hayatabad Medical Complex, between December 2018 to July 2021 to work out the effects of the pandemic on the amount and kinds of surgeries in the thoracic department during the pandemic. 1.4. Results: Our data consisted of a total of 242 cases. During the pandemic, the total number of thoracic surgeries increased by 53%. The top five most common thoracic surgeries during the pandemic identified by prevalence were decortication (34.2%), hydatid cystectomy (10.8%), emergency thoracotomy (7%), esophagectomy (5.7%), and feeding jejunostomy (5.7%). During the pandemic, thoracic surgeries were generally more prevalent among males, and among relatively younger patients (age ≤10 years). We saw a significant drop in the proportion of surgeries for oncologic indications. However, no significant change was seen in the baseline characteristics, complications and mortality of the cases. 1.5. Conclusion: Although the pandemic had no significant effect on the baseline characteristics and the safety and efficacy of our procedures, the unplanned diversion of patients from other hospitals resulted in a sudden increased burden on our unit. We recommend a close communication between the different healthcare facilities, under a strict monitoring body, to prevent over burdening of the departments and smooth delivery of care to patients.

Subcapsular hematoma of the liver Subcapsular hematoma of the liver (SCLH) is defined as an anatomical-clinical entity corresponding to the appearance of a hematic collection located between the intact GLISSON capsule and the hepatic parenchyma. It is a rare complication of pregnancy with a high maternal-fetal mortality, occurring most often in the context of pre-eclampsia or HELLP syndrome (Hemolysis, Elevated Liver Enzymes, and Low Platelets Syndrome). We report the case of a 25-year-old parturient, primiparous woman, with no previous history, admitted to the emergency room for shock in a 29-week amenorrhea pregnancy. Ultrasound examination revealed a ruptured sub capsular hematoma of the liver. An urgent surgical exploration was required, during which a rupture of the subcapsular hematoma of the liver was revealed, accompanied by a state of hemorrhagic shock. The management consisted in a polytransfusion with suture of the hepatic lesion without paking. The evolution was favorable with clinico-biological normalization and the patient was declared discharged at D10 of her hospitalization.

Objective: By carrying out research-based quality control circle activities, a continuous nursing model for hospitalized veteran cadres was built, which improved quality of life and compliance. Methods: A “Ji Dong Circle” quality control circle group was established to analyze the current situation, survey data, mine key points, and formulate strategies from three levels (hospital-cadre’s sanatorium-family), according to the operation steps of the subject research quality control circle. The quality control circle group was implemented from three aspects: the establishment of a three-level linkage management mode of “hospital-cadre’s sanatorium-family;” the establishment of “three more” nursing training modes; and the operation of a continuous nursing service system. Results: After implementation of the quality control circle, the level of relevant nursing professional knowledge among the nursing staff, the level of first aid skills among medical staff in cadre’s sanatorium, the coverage rate of telephone follow-up, nursing satisfaction, medication compliance of veteran cadres, and the living nursing operation level of caregivers were significantly improved compared to those before implementation (P<0.05). Conclusion: The research-based quality control circle activity constructed a new three-level linkage “hospital-cadre’s sanatorium-family” continuous nursing model for hospitalized veteran cadres that is guided by the needs of patients. At the same time, it has implemented the national medical security policy for the elderly, effectively improved the compliance and nursing satisfaction of the elderly cadres, and established the brand benefit of hospital elderly care services.

Gastroenteropancreatic neuroendocrine tumors are characterized by specific tissue characteristics targeted by molecular imaging. Functional imaging is an important diagnostic tool because most NETs have high cell surface somatostatin receptor expression levels, which has a great impact on patient management, including better localization of occult tumors in the small intestine and pancreas as well as improved staging and restaging. We report the case of a male diagnosed with pancreatic neuroendocrine tumor, that during the follow-up a 68Ga-DOTATOC PET/CT scan revealed distant disease (bone and bowel), findings that conventional imaging did not reveal.

The current study was completed to analyze the effect of natural components on various improvement affecting traits of Kajli sheep in Pakistan. For this reason, we apply two huge contemporary datasets in sheep to explore factors that influence the traits. Therefore, the generation information record of 13715 Kajli sheep lambing accumulated from 1994 to 2010 at Livestock Experimental Stations Khushab and Khizarabad, Punjab. Information records were genuinely analyzed through utilizing PC modified Mixed Model Harvey’s Least Squares and Maximum Likelihood. The two farms information data was analyzed by utilizing an animal model program. The factual model was incorporated to evaluate the Birth Weight (BW), 120 days at Weaning Weight (WW), Pre-Weaning Average Daily Gain (PRADG), Yearling Weight (YW) and Greasy Fleece Weight (GFW). Year of Birth (YOB), Birth Season (BS), Birth Types (BT) and sex was the fix effect in the model. Results indicated that, the overall general values for birth weight, weaning weight, yearling weight, pre-weaning weight and fleece weight were noted. Year of birth, type of birth, sex, and herd was influenced altogether significantly while, birth weight and greasy fleece weight, the period of birth showed no essential difference. In weaning weight and pre-weaning increment normally, year of birth, sort of birth and herd showed a critical contact except for sex. Male sheep were heavier than female sheep and single conceived sheep were also basically heavier than twins were during offspring birth. Results emulate that the Kajli sheep breed can be improved on through selection and further developed management. The cascade type of influence of the current investigation has levelheaded ramification not just for sheep farming by and by just as for intensified associate of boundaries which definitely convince deviation of weight, weight has become itself essential forecaster of in a matter of seconds wellness results. These outcomes displayed there are complex associations among hereditary qualities and ecological elements of parental, placental and fetal beginning.
