An investigation to observation the potential of stingless bee on building their nest at the high temperature material had been done to Tetragonula (Tetragona) sp. nest at Indralaya area, South Sumatra. Here we describe the Tetragonula sp nest that uses streetlight pole made by carbon steel as the nest media. Purposive sampling is used to select the target nest. Two streetlight poles found be used by Tetragonula sp as their home. The coordinate of location, height from ground surface, diameter of streetlight pole, air temperature and humidity, and floral species around nest, were noted. The spot coordinate of the area is between S 30 14’ 19.2498’’ and E 1040 39’ 15,3288’’ at 1,5 m above the ground surface with 12 cm diameter of pole and the highest air temperature was 350C at daylight during the months of sampling with about 80 – 90 % humidity. Some floral ; which Switenia macrophyla, Hevea brasiliensis, Zea mays, and Citrullus lanatus floral species are planted around. Air temperature in the pole is very high, around 400 C during daylight.

Design and Evaluation of Livestock Feed Chopper Machine 畜禽饲料切碎机的设计与评价

Nowadays in Malaysia, the livestock industry has become the increasing demand over the past few years. Like agriculture, livestock is also a growing business that can help local farmers to generate their income. Thus, an economic and practical chopper machine for livestock feed is necessary to fulfil this demand. The machine is driven by an AC powered motor (1400 rpm, 1 Hp). It is divided into five major components, which are the fodder inlet, fodder outlet, power unit, cutting unit and frame stand. For safety reason, a cover made by clear acrylic Perspex were built in front of the blade to prevent any injuries. The machine structure is reasonable and practical as it is supported by four lockable wheels and handle for easy movement. Time taken to finish the chopping process will be analyzed for both methods. Three different weights of fodder will be used. For 500g, 1000g and 1500g of weight, average production time taken by machine is 15s, 33s and 42s respectively. While conventional method is 240s, 400s and 640s respectively. The percentage decrease of production time was calculated to evaluate the performance. Based on the result obtained, it shows that by using the chopper machine, it can help to reduce the production time to produce the chopped fodder compared to the conventional method. For weight 500g, it reduces the production time to 93.75%, for weight 1000g to 91.75% and lastly for weight 1500g to 93.44%. Hence, the chopper machine is practical, flexible and cost effective to use for chopping fodder.

Modified Thermoelectric Coolers (TEC) Peltier Plate for Outdoor Activities with Rechargeable Battery using Solar Panel 改良热电冷却器(TEC) Peltier板户外活动与可充电电池使用太阳能电池板

Thermoelectric cooler box was designed with the purpose of cooling with thermoelectric cooler (TEC) Peltier plate as a cooling medium. The objective of this project was to invent a cooler box that is suitable for outdoor activities. The thermal conductivity which is to measure the ability of the material to conduct heat in each layer inside the thermoelectric cooler box was identified for heat transfer analysis. Thermoelectric cooler box can be operated with a 12V battery or 12V DC power supply. The battery power can be charged using a 20W solar panel (if the battery power is drained out), with the condition that there should be heat radiation to generate electricity. Thus, no additional cost is needed on ice cubes whereby previously it requires more ice cubes to maintain the cold temperature inside the cooler box. By using a Peltier plate, the cooling hours inside can reach up to 100,000 hours with a maximum of 12 can of beverages stored inside the cooling box. Based on literature reviews, conduction and convection resistance between each layer of materials inside the cooler box play an important role to ensure heat is transferred inside the box. The heat sink also helps to ensure heat dissipation before flowing into the cooler box. In this design, a total of 56 kW of heat can be transferred from the box to keep the cooler box cool with the minimum temperature 15.6°C within a period of 35 minutes.

Effects of a Longitudinal Crack in Overhung Rotor 悬挑转子纵向裂纹的影响

In this study, a longitudinal crack simulation will be carried out on the shaft using the MSC Nastran/Patran to identify the effect of variations in the depth and length of the crack on the shaft on the stress distribution along the shaft and to determine the dynamic behavior of the rotor shaft overhung system due to cracks. The simulation was carried out with two models, with and without a crack. The first crack position locates between the disk and the bearing, and the second is between the two supports. Based on the simulation test results, the natural frequencies tend to decrease with increasing variations in the depth and length of the crack, especially at first and second natural frequencies. The cracks between the disc and the bearing significantly reduce stiffness than the cracks between the two supports. Furthermore, in the stress analysis, the cracks increase the rotor's maximum stress, which occurs in the area of the ultimate bending moment.

Technology Improvement of Physical Properties of KUB Chicken Meat Include Papaya Leaves (Carica papaya L) in Feed 含木瓜叶KUB鸡肉饲料物理性能的技术改进

This study aims to determine the Technology improvement of physical properties of KUB chicken meat including Papaya Leaves (Carica papaya L) in feed. This study used 100 KUB chickens placed in 20 boxes of cages, each box containing 5 KUB chickens, using papaya leaf flour at the age of 3 weeks. The method used in this experimental study was a completely randomized design (CRD) with 5 treatments and 4 replications consisting of treatment A (feed with 0% papaya leaf flour), treatment B (feed with 2.5% papaya leaf flour), treatment with C (feed with 5% papaya leaf powder), treatment D (feed with 7.5% papaya leaf powder) and treatment E (feed with 10% papaya leaf powder). The parameters observed were meat pH, cooking loss, meat tenderness and water holding capacity. The results showed that giving papaya leaf flour up to 10% had no significant effect (P>0.05) on meat pH and cooking loss, but had a very significant effect on (P<0.01) KUB chicken meat tenderness. The conclusion of this study is that giving 2.5% papaya leaf flour has an effect on the tenderness of KUB meat.

Optimization Pressure of Water Distribution Network System of the Banjarsari Water Treatment Plant, PDAM Bojonegoro Banjarsari水处理厂配水网络系统压力优化

The distribution network of the Banjarsari water treatment plant uses a gravity system. The system serves the drinking water in Banjarsari Villages. This study aims to optimize the pressure of the water distribution network in the Banjarsari Villages. This system supplies water from the Banjarsari water treatment plant. The water distribution network uses the gravity method to deliver water to customers. The drinking water distribution network was obtained from PDAM Bojonegoro. Meanwhile, the elevation and node of pipe were obtained by using Google Earth. Before optimization, the water distribution network has negative pressure at 07.00 AM and 05.00 PM. The negative pressure zone is at the end of the distribution network. The negative pressure values obtained using EPANET is range from -0,67 meters to -6,34 meters. The water distribution network is optimized by replacing diameter pipe in some areas, the water pressure increases significantly and makes the water distribution has positive pressure values. The pressure values are range from 2,70 meters to 13,65 meters. Replacing diameters of pipe is a solution to remove negative pressure, so that water from the reservoir can deliver to the end of a pipe. The distribution network pipe diameter is chosen which is close to the calculated pipe diameter.

Each region has its own cropping pattern due to its particular characteristics. Crop production may be increased by adjusting the timing of planting. Remote sensing technologies can be used to monitor regions where planting occurs simultaneously. The purpose of this study is to assess the degree of uniformity at the beginning of the paddy cultivation season in West Sumatra. In each growing season, there are two early cultivation seasons in the West Sumatra province. 19% of the region started cultivation in the first period of the first cultivation season (CS1), and 81% in the second period. 4.2% of the region started cultivation in the first period of the second cultivation season (CS2), while 95.8% started planting in the second period. 35% of the region started planting in the first period of the third cultivation season (CS3), while 65% started planting in the second period. The level of uniformity at the beginning of the second cultivation season was higher than at the beginning of the first cultivation season

Analysis of The Effect of Bank Capacitor Placement as Voltage Drop Increase in Distribution Network 配电网电压降增大时排电容器放置的影响分析

The quality of electricity distribution in the distribution network is an important thing that must be considered. To maintain the quality of electrical energy, there are several parameters that must be considered in the distribution network, including voltage drop, power losses, power factor and other factors. One of the solutions used to improve the voltage drop and power factor is to install a capacitor bank in the distribution network. This paper will discuss the placement of capacitor banks using the fuzzy logic method with inputs in the form of voltage profiles, power losses and power flow calculations using ETAP 12.6.0 software. In the Rao feeder, the final voltage is 16.806 kV or has passed the standard set by PLN (-10% and +5%). The Rao feeder has a power loss of 0.242 MW and a power factor of 0.7815. Fuzzy logic method is used to determine the optimal location of capacitor placement. After the installation of the capacitor bank, the terminal voltage increases and the total power loss decreases, while the power factor increases. From the results obtained, PLN as a supplier of electrical energy can reduce power losses by placing and installing capacitor banks in the distribution network.

Biomedical Material for Stent Application: Current Status and Future Challenges 用于支架应用的生物医学材料:现状和未来挑战

Cardiovascular disease is the leading cause of death worldwide. Arterial stenting as a transluminal angioplasty procedure allows re-opening of narrowed vessels and restoring normal blood flow with stent placement. The development of stents ed at the end of 19 century with bare-metal stents (BMS). Now, it has been based on the application of biodegradable or natural decomposed and coated stents. The coated stent has been found to improve BMS properties in terms of biocompatibility, cytotoxicity, and better mechanical and biophysical properties. Also, a biodegradable stent may support the blood micro-vessel during the estimated period of time before downgraded constituents. The biodegradable stent also allows a reinsertion for several months to improve the vessel wall's quality. This paper describes the possible materials for stents and their properties such as design criteria, degradation behavior, disadvantages, and advantages with clinical and preclinical trials to date. Stent degradation allows reinsertion of the stent after several months and improves the vessel wall quality. This paper focuses on developing materials for stents, which describe the possible materials for stents and their properties. Furthermore, the current clinical trial of the new proposed stent will also be highlighted.

Design of Modified Chicken Feather Retractor Machine 改进型鸡毛牵引机的设计

The demand for poultry products is seen increasing from year to year. This is a good thing for local chicken entrepreneurs. But the task of plucking chicken feathers is time-consuming and tiring. The production of machines to help simplify the process of removing chicken feathers is seen as a necessity for these small and medium industrial entrepreneurs. This is why we focus on producing chicken feather retractor machines (CFRM) that are capable of processing up to five chickens at once. This machine is portable and easy to move around and supported by four wheels that can be locked to ensure stability. This machine can perform effectively to remove feathers using friction concept between the chicken and the plucker fingers rubber which attached around the drum. The machine also environmentally friendly by filtering the feather from scattered everywhere and only allow water to come out. The result shows that this machine operates under the motor powered with 115.13 rpm with the rotating plate area is 0.166 m2 and drum volume of 0.158 m3. This machine managed to remove the feathers of up to five chickens within 30 seconds to 60 seconds
