: In this article, I set out to refl ect on the University and its current political conditions. To carry out this task, I will delve into its modern and contemporary contexts, into the principles that, from the Humanities, defend its autonomy vis-à-vis the market, as well as into the sexism of knowledge and its language. Within the Latin American context, I consider some paradigmatic moments in the itinerary of Universi-ties based on laws, reforms, counter reforms and prescriptions, from the positivist confi guration to neoliberalism. Likewise, to counteract the colonial and sexist condition of knowledge, I take into consideration some of the proposals of the new humanities that aim to expand the democratization of knowledge.

Con el objetivo de conocer las facetas cognitiva, simbolica y emocional que conlleva todo proceso comunicativo, en 2017 un equipo del Centro de Formacion Profesional Anxel Casal (Coruna, Espana) realizo un proyecto de arte de accion, que tuvo como resultado relatos de ciudadanos que se mantuvieron a la escucha en tanto interlocutores productivos. Este articulo da cuenta de esa experiencia y del analisis de los relatos resultantes.

This paper analyses the representation of perpetrators of human rights violations in the site of memory Parque por la Paz Villa Grimaldi. It focuses on three dimensions: historical and pedagogical narrative, museography, and visitors’ opinions. Originally, references to perpetrators were scarce because the site’s mission concentrated on reparations to survivors and victims’ relatives. Nevertheless, as this study argues, the representation of perpetrators has gradually increased due to the use of audioguides and other museographic devices, which have diversified the perpetrators’ image by marking some distinctions between torturers and guards. Finally, this study also shows that visitors are increasingly demanding more information about perpetrators.

: In 1932 Lacan highlighted a positive value in the delusions associated with paranoid psychoses. In his thesis On the Paranoid Psychosis as it Relates to the Personal-ity , Lacan used the tools of psychiatry, psychoanalysis and anthropology, among others, in an attempt to explain the ways of thinking observed in the Case of Aimée. Lévy-Bruhl’s studies on “prelogical” thought and the “laws of participation” thus became fundamental sources used to highlight the value of artistic production related to psychosis, against the grain of a degenerative conception of the condition. By drawing on parallels with Aby Warburg’s inquiry into the survival of images, we offer a conclusion on how to read these anthropological categories used to describe ostensibly “primitive” conditions.

Resumen: El presente trabajo tiene como objetivo dar cuenta de uno de los aspectos académicos más trascendentes de lo que ha sido la historia de la Universidad de Concepción en sus más de cien años de vida. Nos estamos refi riendo al impulso y apoyo otorgado a sus docentes para que estos iniciaran estudios de perfeccionamiento en el extranjero, así como la contratación de destacados académicos e investigadores nacionales e internacionales, con el objetivo de reforzar la docencia en la casa de estudios. Dicho proceso trajo como consecuencia la inquietud intelectual y el interés profesional por parte de algunos académicos de impulsar cursos de posgrado y de perfeccionamiento la proceso que se a de cuando bajo la de se la de una Escuela de destinada a Abstract: Th e purpose of this paper is to highlight one of the most transcendental ac-ademic moments in the history of the Universidad de Concepcion in its more than 100 years of existence. We are referring to the encouragement and support granted to their faculty to pursue further studies abroad, and the process of hiring outstanding foreign and local academics and researchers with the purpose of strengthening the teaching processes of this university. Such events ignited the intellectual restlessness and professional interest of some academics to promote and create post-graduate courses and also professional continuing education programs. Th is process was institutionalized in the early 1960’s under the administration of rector Edgardo Enriquez, when the Graduate and Professional Continuing Education School was created. Its aim is to strengthen the scientific work of its faculty as well as improving teaching and research at the highest level.

The present work is part of the debate on the development of the Chilean higher education quality assurance system, focusing on its critical points and the horizon of possibilities the system presents more than a decade after its inception. From a bibliographical discussion of the subject, a minimal conceptual formalization of the paradoxes that the quality assurance system involves is attempted. These, in its own terms, can be formulated as follows: "strengthening" the organizational dimension of the educational institution has "weakened" its instituting dimension to a functional degradation.
