A beautiful smile boosts a person's confidence. Gummy smile is a term used for excessive gingival display (EGD), its etiology is multifactorial, can be treated by several surgical and non-surgical techniques due to etiology factors. Factors that contribute to the gummy smile include exaggerated lip length and lip hypermobility. Lip repositioning surgery can be used to treat EGD, mild to moderate degree of gingival display (4-8 mm) caused by hypermobile upper lip. The lip repositioning procedure is a surgical treatment option that involves removing a partial thickness strip from the maxillary buccal vestibular mucosa and suturing the lip mucosa back to the mucogingival line. This technique is less invasive than orthognathic surgery, with minor complications and patient satisfaction.

A Schwannoma (Neurilemmoma) is a benign nerve tumor arising from a myelinated nerve fibers sheath, that can appear in any part of the body. Forty-five percent of the cases occur in the head and neck region. Intraoral Schwannomas are rather uncommon, intranasal and intrasinus Schwannomas are even rarer (less than 1%). The clinical case reports a young, man 14-years-old male with a Neurilemmoma the left maxillary sinus, involving the left third molar. The reports include case information, radiological findings, the surgery treatment, the histological characteristics of this particular tumor, a differential diagnosis, the post-operation process, and a review of the available literature.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, there was a notable increase in cases of oral mucormycosis, with some researchers linking corticosteroid treatment to immune suppression, potentially increasing susceptibility to this fungal infection. Early oral manifestations may serve as indicators for timely diagnosis. This protocol for a systematic review aims to elucidate the pathogenesis and related factors of post-COVID-19 mucormycosis through the analysis of case reports. We will conduct a comprehensive search of relevant articles, excluding review articles and case series. Bias risk will be assessed using the ROBINS-E tool, and certainty of evidence will be evaluated using the GRADE framework. A narrative synthesis of the data will be performed, focusing on sociodemographic profiles, medical and family histories, diagnostic methods, treatment approaches, and dental relevance.

Tooth wear can have several etiological factors. When they occur in combination, the clinical result can be quite devastating, with severe tooth destruction. The purpose of this article is to present the case of a elderly patient with severe tooth wear caused by parafunctional habits (bruxism), with a marked reduction in the vertical dimension of the lower third of the face. Dental and implantoprosthetic rehabilitation was carried out, restoring the vertical dimension.

Background: During the endodontic process, cleaning and shaping are essential steps. The fracture of nickel-titanium (NiTi) tools is a procedural issue that significantly impedes therapy in normal endodontic therapy. Efficient and reliable endodontic therapy requires rotary NiTi files that demonstrate superior cyclic fatigue resistance to prevent file separation within the canal. This study aimed to investigate the in-vitro cyclic fatigue resistance of two commonly used rotary NiTi files: NeoEndo Flex file and ProTaper Gold file. Methods: The cyclic fatigue tests were carried out by determining the lifespan of each file type in a controlled environment mimicking a curved root canal. A total of 30 files (15 NeoEndo Flex and 15 ProTaper Gold) were subjected to continuous rotation until fracture occurred. The numbers of cycles until failure (NCF) were recorded for statistical comparison. Results: The ProTaper Gold files showed significantly higher NCF, indicative of stronger cyclic fatigue resistance when compared to NeoEndo Flex files (p < 0.05). The variance in fatigue resistance is attributable, in part, to differences in alloy composition and proprietary heat treatment processes. Conclusion: ProTaper Gold rotary NiTi files exhibited enhanced cyclic fatigue resistance in comparison to NeoEndo Flex, suggesting that they may be the preferred choice for clinical procedures where greater stresses are anticipated on the file. However, clinicians should balance file strength with other clinical factors when choosing the appropriate file for endodontic treatment.

Objective: This case report aims to present how to fabricate a new restoration to match existing odd-shaded ones. Clinical considerations: A polycarbonate provisional crown was used to produce a cement-retained immediate load provisional restoration over an implant of tooth number #9. Using a color correcting light source, it was noticed that existing restorations had very high value with excess gray hue. XL2 of Premise composite shade tab was the closest match found, and the base shade for the custom-made restoration. Once no shade match was found in commercially available shade guides, there was a demand to produce a custom-made shade to address this case. The facial surface of the provisional crown was prepared as a veneer. Utilizing XL2 Premise composite and adding different amounts of gray color modifier, shade matching was fulfilled by mixing the composite and the color modifier. In this case, five attempts were made to achieve color match. The restoration was polished utilizing Soflex Discs. Provisional crown was in function for 12 weeks. Conclusions: By implementation of the principles of color, restorative materials and characterization kits, the new temporary restoration could match the existing ones using the technique described in this case report.

Aim: To comparatively evaluate postoperative pain levels following root canal instrumentation with hand files versus Pedoflex rotary files in primary mandibular molars. Material and Methods: This randomized clinical trial involved 60 children aged 6-10 years with primary mandibular molars requiring pulpectomy. They were divided into two groups: Group I received hand K file instrumentation, and Group II was treated with Pedoflex rotary files. Pain levels were recorded using the Wong-Baker FACES Pain Rating Scale at 6, 12, 24, 48, and 72 hours postoperatively. Results: The Pedoflex rotary file group experienced significantly lower pain scores at all time intervals compared to the hand K file group (p<0.05). The mean pain score in Group A gradually decreased from 6 to 72 hours, while Group B showed a more rapid decline in the first 24 hours followed by a plateau. Conclusion: The use of Pedoflex rotary files for root canal instrumentation in primary mandibular molars significantly reduces postoperative pain when compared to conventional hand files. These findings suggest that rotary files may provide a more comfortable postoperative experience for pediatric patients undergoing pulpectomy

The complex odontoma is a benign odontogenic tumor of the jaw, consisting of a disorganised mass of dental tissue with unknown aetiology. They are often asymptomatic and usually identified incidentally upon radiographic examination. However, they have the potential to cause displacement and resorption of adjacent teeth as well as affecting tooth eruption, therefore early identification is important. We report a case of a 12 year old male who was referred to our department with an incidental finding of a complex odontoma in the mandible.

Patients receiving oral anticoagulant therapy are at an increased risk of bleeding complications, necessitating effective hemostatic interventions. This study aims to evaluate and compare the efficacy of four hemostatic agent (figure of eight suturing, Absorbable gelatin sponge (ABGEL), Topical application of hemocogulase, and pressure gauze pack) in achieving hemostasis among patients on oral anticoagulant therapy. The study was conducted on 100 patients which were randomly divided in four groups and we found that all methods of achieving hemostasis are equally beneficial.
