A bibliometric analysis was conducted to evaluate the global scientific output of KSHV/HHV8 research in the Science Citation Index Expanded from 1991 to 2016. The publications were analysed in terms of document type, language of publication, trends in publication, journals, Web of Science categories, and publications of countries, institutions, and authors. The results showed that Journal of Virology led 610 journals. The researchers focused on the category of virology. The USA took the lead position among 92 countries with 58% of all the KSHV/HHV8 articles. Top ten productive institutions were all from the USA. National Cancer Institute, University of California, San Francisco, and Harvard University from the USA led top three the institutions. A comprehensive analysis of keywords revealed that HIV, lymphoma, and EBV were recent foci. The proportion of number of single institution articles : number of nationally collaborative articles : number of internationally collaborative articles (S : N : I) was used to compare performance of institutions. Y-index was also applied to evaluate authors’ publication performance. Chang’s group published the first in KSHV/HHV8 research field.

Getting cited is important for scholars in the burgeoning field of written feedback on English as a second language (ESL) writing. While much depends on the quality of the paper and the reputation of the author, there are a range of subjective factors that are known to impact on citation counts generally. The present study investigated the effects of 11 journal- and paper-based variables on the age-weighted citation rates (measured using data from Google Scholar) of a comprehensive body of 376 research articles on the topic of written feedback on ESL writing (spanning 1980-2018). It was found that the following factors positively predicted the citation rates of papers; a) the journal of publication, b) its publishing company, c) the journal's impact factor, d) inclusion on the Social Sciences or Emerging Sources Citation Indices and SCOPUS, e) subscription access to the journal, f) appearance in a specialist publication, g) paper length, and h) age of the article. The presence of keywords and title lengths were found to negatively correlate. The implications of the findings are discussed, and recommendations for future authors seeking to improve article citability are provided.

This paper presents a scientometric study of the research publications from the discipline of economics in India. The high-quality publications indexed in Web of Science over the last three decades are considered for the analysis. The main motive behind this study is to reveal the progress made in the discipline by the researchers affiliated with Indian institutions, their research outreach and their top research interests. The publications and citation structures are analyzed first giving the publication distribution over time followed by the general citation structure, top cited journals and the top twenty-five cited publications. Further, author and institutions are analyzed along with a detailed cocitation analysis. The results indicate that the Indian Statistical Institute (ISI) and University of Delhi have brought more significant publications with ISI being the most collaborative institution. The results also show that competition, economic growth, developing country and unemployment are the most significant research topics in the country. Though currently the contribution of India to the global economics research is very less but the trends show that it will substantially increase over the years.

The present study is to identify and analyse the characteristics of the highly cited articles in Web of Science category of health policy and services, within the publication year from 1923 to 2017 based on Social Science Citation Index. Highly cited articles that have been cited 100 times or more from Web of Science Core Collection since their publication year to the end of 2017 were analyzed. Publication year, authors, institutions, countries, journals, and citation life cycles were used to evaluate the publication performance of the highly cited articles. Four citation indicators were applied to evaluate highly cited articles. Six publication indicators were also used to compare performance of countries and institutions. A publication performance indicator, the Y-index, was applied to assess publication potential and the characteristics of authors. A relationship between number of articles in each year and their citations per publication by years was proposed for distribution of highly cited articles. Results showed that highly cited articles published in journals with not only higher journal impact factor but also lower one. The US and Harvard University ranked top in six publication indicators respectively. Y-index results showed that J.H. Hibbard had highly cited articles publication potential. In addition, each of the high impact classic articles in 2017 were summarized.

This study aimed to gauge the quality of behavioral science journals on account of selected bibliometric indicators, namely Journal Impact Factor, Eigenfactor Score, CiteScore, SCImago Journal Rank; Source normalised impact per paper and H5-index. Also, to ascertain whether these indicators use as an alternative to each other for the assessment of the journals. 53 Journals from the behavioral science discipline have retrieved from Journals citation Report (JCR) of the Web of science. The JIF and ES metrics extracted from JCR, the metrics of CS, SJR and SNIP derived from Scopus and the metrics of H-Index managed from Google Scholar. The analysis has done by using IBM SPSS (21.0). Bivariate correlation coefficient has considered, a high Pearson's (r) found between JIF and SNIP (r = 0.928), while the lowest correlation recorded between JIF and H5 Value (r = 0.411). Spearman's (ρ) statistical correlation between JIF with CS shows maximum correlation, i.e. (ρ = 0.822), the minimum correlation recorded between JIF and H5-index ranks, i.e. (ρ= 0.664). The top five journals repeated in each indicator are "Trends in Cognitive Sciences", "Neuroscience and Biobehavioral Reviews", "Behavioral and Brain Sciences", "Cortex" and "Appetite". The linear correlation observed in term of values and ranks of metrics of the indicators with the help of scatter plot hence concluded that the selected indicators could use as an alternative to each other.
使用IBM SPSS(21.0)进行分析。

In this short communication, a new indicator - The Relative Rank Index - the RRI - is introduced for comparing the rankings in specific subject discipline of different countries with their rankings overall. To show how this works in practice, publication data from various disciplines for the top ten countries in the world have been collected from the SCOPUS database and their relative rankings are presented in this study. Similarly, one might use the RRI with data from institutions to show their relative rankings.
