3WD omni-wheeled mobile robot using ARM processor for line following application 采用ARM处理器的3WD全轮式移动机器人线路跟随应用

Performance efficient processors have become increasingly important for mobile robots with numerous actuators and sensors. Therefore, this project is to implement a 32-bit low-power ARM processor into the development of a 3WD omni-directional mobile robot equipped with IR sensor capabilities. The scope of the project is narrowed down to the usage of Embedded Artists' LPC2148 USB QuickStart Board, digital fiber sensor, DC brushless motor, and omni-wheel. Most of the tools and necessary equipment for the project development can be obtained within the UTHM. At the end of this project, the ARM processor has successfully generate the desired PWM for motor control and respond to the digital input from the interface of IR sensor to the microcontroller.

Navigation and surveillance using night vision and image fusion 导航和监视使用夜视和图像融合

In this paper, an efficient algorithm for integrating infrared information into images with natural appearance is proposed. The obtained result can be used for different navigation and surveillance applications. The proposed algorithm uses the characteristics of human visual system in framelet domain. The main idea is to decompose the natural and IR images to be fused into low and high frequency bands using framelet transform. The fusion is performed by two different strategies while exploiting the characteristics of low and high frequency bands. The first strategy is adaptive weighted average based on local energy and is applied to fuse the low-frequency bands. In order to fuse high frequency bands, a new strategy is developed based on texture while exploiting the human visual system characteristics, which can preserve more details from source images and further improve the quality of scene in the fused image. Experimental results demonstrate the efficiency and robustness of the proposed algorithm in visual inspection and objective evaluation criteria.

Outsource bond pad reliability methodology setup for foundry process changes 针对铸造工艺变化的外包焊盘可靠性方法建立

Wire Bond Shear (WBS) test is a method for evaluating the strength of a ball bond, to complement wire pull test. In foundry, wafer-level (WLR) WBS provides a quick way to demonstrate the integrity of metal bond pad, backend scheme as well as bond or via design. This is a big challenge for WLR WBS outsourcing as many of the factors affecting shear strength lying on the wire bonding parameters and shear test setup. This paper presents the outsourcing experiences of WBS tests and good shear strength was achieved from the outsource laboratory.

Fuzzy Logic Controller for MPPT SEPIC converter and PV single-phase inverter MPPT SEPIC变流器和PV单相逆变器的模糊控制器

This paper introduces an implementation of Fuzzy Logic Controller (FLC) for the single-ended primary-inductor converter (SEPIC) that control the maximum power point tracking (MPPT) signal together with the cascaded single-phase inverter. The extracting of the maximum power through using the SEPIC fuzzy controller is considered the main improvement here. Fuzzy-controlling in duty cycle increases/decreases the voltage level for the SEPIC according to the maximum power. SEPIC MPPT ensures optimal utilization for the PV array. The controller further proves its accuracy in variable-load conditions. TMS320F28335 DSP has been used to implement the controlled pulse width modulation (PWM). The controlled system has been verified by simulation and implemented in a prototype. Then, experimental results have been compared with those for conventional single-phase inverter.

Implementation of a internet-based power quality monitoring system by dual microprocessors 基于互联网的双微处理器电能质量监测系统的实现

In this paper two low-cost microprocessors are employed to build up a internet-based instrument system for remote monitoring of power quality, the instrument system can collect various types of power quality disturbances in interactive or automatic mode. Besides, an SD data storage device is used to save raw data which can be also uploaded to a database server via internet, users can access the server by an ordinary browser to effectively realize the information of power quality conditions at a certain location. The built-up prototype of the system is tested in different ways, and the test results validate the performance and feasibility of the instrument system.

Intelligent control has contributed great benefits to industry in terms of increasing efficiency and productivity of industrial processes. Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) - based controller is one of the control device used in industrial automation drive applications, the important aspect is to control speed of an induction motor in the presence of variable load. The plant model in this project is developed using MATLAB/Simulink and the aim is to simulate and analyse the appropriate control technique suitable for implementation onto the PLC to perform real-time implementation of the VSD (variable speed drive) control. This paper presents the work conducted in analyzing, evaluating and improving a PLC-based intelligent controller for a Pulse Width Modulation, (PWM)-Driven VSD of an induction motor by using state space control method, focusing on the low speed response. The results show that it is possible to archive a good control at low speed.

Multi-output ZCS-SR inverter fed voltage multiplier based high voltage DC-DC converter 基于多输出ZCS-SR逆变器馈压乘法器的高压DC-DC变换器

This paper proposes a multi-output ZCS-SR inverter fed voltage multiplier based high voltage dc-dc converter to achieve wide range of controllability. The SR-inverter in the proposed system has four outputs that are connected to a single transformer linked load via four resonant capacitors each of which have distinct capacitance. Due to distinct values of resonant capacitors, the impedance of tank circuit and hence the power transfer rate is different for four outputs. Thus all the four inverter outputs are fed to load in parallel when maximum load power is desired and a single output that has highest tank circuit impedance is fed to load when lowest load power is required and vice versa. For the four inverter outputs there are sixteen possible combinations to feed them to load in parallel, thus the load power increase from its lowest value to highest in sixteen steps. Switching frequency is adjusted within in its narrow limits to adjust the voltage between two nearest steps. Proposed high voltage converter have several features such as wide range of control, less voltage ripple and low current stress on power switches. The proposed converter is simulated using PSPICE software and results confirm its better performance.

Effects of traffic speed level on frustration index in cellular automata traffic simulation 元胞自动机交通仿真中交通速度水平对挫折指数的影响

Traffic system shows a very complex and stochastic features, but it seems to be simulated successfully by cellular automata (CA) models. Various models have been developed in order to study and understand traffic behavior and network traffic situations. In this study, the relationship for speed and frustration index is simulated by CA under multi-class user traffic conditions. Acceleration rule, slow down probability, traffic density, maximal and minimal speeds are main effects, which determine driving behavior. According to the results, it is found that either the mixture of the average speed-frustration index or density-frustration index of multi-class traffic is the linear combination of users involving in traffic flow. Therefore, to gain a better understanding on multi-class user traffic is better to simulate it directly instead of estimating it by using the combination of each user.

Various models have been developed in order to study and understand traffic behavior and network traffic situations. In this study, the relationship for speed and frustration index is simulated by CA under multi-class user traffic conditions. Acceleration rule, slow down probability, traffic density, maximal and minimal speeds are main effects, which determine driving behavior. According to the results, it is found that either the mixture of the average speed-frustration index or density-frustration index of multi-class traffic is the linear combination of users involving in traffic flow. Scalable host controller for modular hardware accelerator 可扩展的主机控制器模块化硬件加速器

This paper presents a scalable host controller for modular hardware accelerator. Designing a hardware method of scalable host controller can handle multiple processing units at the same time. Currently in System on Chip (SoC) design, multiple processing units accessing the memory to request a task lead to inefficient communications due to bus congestion. In addition, designing a scalable host controller helps the transactions schedule consistently between different processing units in the modular hardware accelerator. In this paper, the hardware approach of scalable host controller design is expected to support up to seven different processing units.

Damage severity evaluation on reinforced concrete beam by means of acoustic emission signal and intensity analysis 基于声发射信号和强度分析的钢筋混凝土梁损伤程度评价

Concretes structures have been facing several types of damage mechanisms during their lifetime. The types of common defects in concretes structures are crack formations, corrosion, scalling, and etc. Therefore, an evaluation method such as acoustic emission (AE) is required for assessing the deterioration on concretes structures. This paper provides a brief discussion on the evaluations of the acoustic emission signal strength to the health monitoring of reinforced concrete structures beams. Small scale size beam has been used for this investigation and the AE signal processing is the main principal data in this work for assessing by using the statistical quantitative technique, which is known as intensity analysis (IA).This type of technique is able to quantify and evaluate the damage severity on concretes structures. Eventually, the results presented in this research using AE signal strength are greater parameter in determining the micro and macro cracking and also the damage mechanism level on concretes structures.
