Titrimetric methods for determining the concentration of quaternary ammonium salts and polyhexamethylenebiguanide hydrochloride in the presence of a disinfectant are described. In addition, as auxiliary components, the agent contains a nonionic surfactant and an alkyl polyglucoside and a disodium salt of ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid as a complexing agent. The main differences between the methods proposed by us for the determination of quaternary ammonium salts and polyhexamethylenebiguanide hydrochloride is the use of not sodium dodecyl sulfate as a titrant, but a solution of the disinfectant itself, which greatly facilitated the visual fixation of the equivalence point. In addition, the volume of the indicator (methylene blue and bromophenol blue) was selected in such a way that the exposure between the portions of the added titrant was not prolonged, because this would increase the overall duration of the analysis. When titrating with polyhexamethylenebiguanide hydrochloride, the volume of the indicator is selected in such a way as to minimize the interfering effect of HR, which are also part of disinfectants. The reproducibility of the developed methods has been confirmed in accredited laboratories of the relevant state institutions of the Republic of Belarus. Metrological characteristics of the developed methods: accuracy index±3.7 %, reproducibility index 4.0 %, n = 17, P = 0.95 – to determine the QAS; accuracy index±4.2 %, reproducibility index 5.5 %, n = 17, P = 0.95 – for the determination of PHMBG.

Knockdown resistance to pyrethroids and pyrethrins is the first sign of insecticide resistance, suggesting a decrease in insect nervous system sensitivity. On the Russian market of insecticides, there are many products in the aerosol package intended for the destruction of flying insects, which include pyrethroids, which provide a quick knockdown effect in insecticide susceptible insect strains. In resistant populations, in many cases, the reversibility of paralysis is observed, which indicates insufficient effectiveness of insecticidal products. The insecticidal activity of four products in aerosol package containing pyrethroids or pyrethrins in various concentrations on houseflies in natural populations was studied in comparison with the insecticide susceptible against laboratory on strain S-NIID. The most effective formulation was on the basis of natural pyrethrins. The reversibility of paralysis of resistant populations was detected using all aerosols and amounted to 0–37 % for the Kaluga strain, 10–93 % for the Krasnogorsk, KSK-1 0–87 %, KSK-2 20–99 %, S-NIID 0 %.

Comparative efficacy of neonicotinoid-based baits (thiamethoxam, imidacloprid, acetamiprid) intended for control of the Pharaoh ant was studied. The death of workers, queens and brood occurs within 2–4 weeks. The minimum effective concentrations of thiamethoxam and imidacloprid in granulated sugar, which ensure the death of ant colonies in the presence and absence of an alternative food, were revealed. Under laboratory conditions, when the colonies of the Pharaoh ant were fed with such baits, after 4 weeks of the experiment the depletion of the colony was noted (death of queens was 75–100 %, and critical decrease in the number of live workers and brood was occured). Dry sugar baits based on 0.1–1.0 % acetamiprid have no significant effect on the viability of the ant colony.

Literature on distribution of invasive mosquito species that are vectors of especially dangerous infections (dengue, Chikungunya, Zika, yellow fever, and Japanese encephalitis) in the Europe and Russia was briefly reviewed. Global warming of the climate as well as an increase in the volume of world trade and the biological characteristics of mosquitoes contribute to the widespread of these species on territories of many countries and continents
