Data from 47 sources of scientific literature on the prospects for the use of biopesticides based on Metarhizium anisopliae, Beauveria bassiana and others species of entomopathogenic fungi to reduce the number of ixodid ticks Ixodes ricinus, I. scapularis, Dermacentor variabilis, D. reticulatus and Rhipicephalus sanguineus are presented. A review was made of data on the effectiveness of mycoacaricides used abroad against ixodid ticks, leading to a reduction in the number of ticks by 87–96?% after 3 weeks and by 53–74?% after 5 weeks after treatment. The use of the M. anisopliae F52 strain can become another tool for an integrated approach to the control of ticks in the residential landscape. An integrated method for controlling the number of ixodid ticks is presented, including the use of the entomopathogenic fungus M. anisopliae, the treatment of areas with acaricides, and the feeding of systemic insecticidal baits based on fipronil to rodents, which eliminate the larvae and nymphs of the tick when fed on a host. The experience of limited trials of preparative forms of mycoinsecticides that did not show high efficiency against the taiga tick Ixodes persulcatus in our country is described. Keywords: ixodid ticks, entomopathogenic fungi, Metarhizium, Beauveria, biopesticides.

Insecticide food baits based on fipronil are widely represented in Russia. The effectiveness of six food baits containing fipronil and its mixtures with other active ingredients was evaluated against four laboratory strains of the German cockroach – insecticide-susceptible S-NIID and multi-resistant MAG, CR, and DM. A slowdown in the manifestation of symptoms of poisoning in cockroaches of resistant strains was revealed. The resistance indices calculated by LT50 and LT95 values were high: 5–12? for males and 3–13? for females, and 10–>21? for males and >14? for females, respectively. By day 21, 10?% of the DM males and 15–85?% of the females of all three resistant strains survived. Keywords: fipronil, German cockroach, resistance, food baits, phenylpyrazoles.

One of the ways to neutralize immunobiological production waste is their treatment in sterilizers with saturated water vapor under pressure. Currently, medical and pharmaceutical industries and laboratories use sterilizers with sterilization and disinfection programs preset by manufacturers. Decontamination modes are defined in Federal sanitary rules, norms and hygienic standards, SanPiN 3.3686-21, while the parameters of preliminary phases of the cycle must be tested experimentally and validated for specific conditions. Within the frames of this study, we have tested the modes of disinfection of an automatic steam sterilizer by the example of waste products from the production of cholera vaccine and anti-rabies immunoglobulin manufactured by the FSSI Russian Anti-Plague Institute «Microbe» of the Rospotrebnadzor. The wastes are used nutrient media, carcasses of laboratory animals (rabbits) and consumables. The chamber was loaded with «clean» objects in quantity and configuration, repeating the loading of material with pathogenic biological agents (PBA). The mode of inactivation inside the chamber and the objects was controlled by physical, chemical and biological methods. Based on the results of the experiments, corrective actions were taken to change the program and design of containers for autoclaving. It was concluded that the default disinfection programs set by manufacturers do not fully take into account specific conditions and need to be adjusted with further validation. It is necessary to develop standard operating procedures for personnel involved in the decontamination of pathogenic materials, in which should be stated the order of placement of objects and the means of control in the containers with PBA and the sterilizer chamber. Keywords: steam sterilizers, pathogenic biological agents, disinfection with saturated water vapor, phases of the steam disinfection cycle, validation.

The search for new substances capable of inhibiting the growth of microorganisms is relevant. Therefore, an assessment was made of the effect of carbon nanoparticles on the growth and biofilm formation of microbial isolates from the surfaces of anthropogenic environmental objects. It has been established that carbon nanoparticles on the C60 + PVP + AC960 diamond platform are able to suppress the growth, reproduction and ability to biofilm formation of gram-positive and gram-negative prokaryotes, as well as fungi of the genus Candida and Aspergillus. Under the influence of C60+AC960 fullerenes, the biofilm-generation ability of Staphylococcus epidermidis, Bacillus cereus, Escherichia coli, and Candida albicans was significantly inhibited. These data provide a basis for further study of these compounds as a promising antimicrobial agent. Keywords: Antimicrobial action, carbon nanoparticles, biofilm formation, fullerenes, nanodiamonds.

In modern medicine, the issue of combating biofilms, including various surfaces in medical facilities, is acute. Ozonation is an environmentally friendly and effective technology in the fight against microbial pollution, including biofilms. The article presents studies of the disinfecting properties of ozone and its combination with various disinfectants on planktonic and adhered (in the biofilm form) Pseudomonas aeruginosa cells. As a result, it was found that ozone is highly effective against various forms of bacterial life, and also requires longer exposure in the presence of organic pollution. When combined with hydrogen peroxide, it shows the greatest bactericidal effect not only on the destruction of the biofilm, but also on the viability of the cells themselves. Keywords: biofilm, ozone disinfection, destruction of biofilm.

The interaction of diethanolamine with formaldehyde at a ratio of initial reagents of 2?:?3, respectively, obtained a preparation that is an equimolar mixture of 3-(?-hydroxyethyl)-1,3-oxazolidine and its methylol derivative – 3-(?-hydroxyoxymethyl-ethyl)-1,3-oxazolidine. The paper presents the results of a study of the antimicrobial activity of the preparation against microorganisms – S. aureus, E. coli, as the most resistant species of bacteria that cause nosocomial infection. The tests were carried out by three methods: the test object method, as well as suspension and adsorption methods. The minimum effective concentration and exposure time of the preparation, which ensure the complete destruction of these microorganisms, have been established. The effect of organic substances and neutralizers on the antimicrobial activity of the preparation was studied. «Sulfonol» (a mixture of stereoisomers of the sodium salt of alkylbenzenesulfonic acid) at a concentration of 0,2?% and ten percent milk were used as neutralizers, and 10?% horse serum was used as protein. The concentration of the preparation and the exposure time required for the complete disinfection of dishes, glass and metlakh tiles infected with S. aureus and E. coli were determined. Disinfection of surfaces is achieved by treatment with a 3?% solution of the preparation during an exposure of 60 minutes, and dishes – with 3–5?% solutions for 45 minutes. It has been established by the thermoanalytical method of analysis that the preparation is stable at normal temperature and does not change its physicochemical properties during storage for 18 months or more. The preparation is recommended as a disinfectant for medical purposes. The paper presents the results of the antibacterial efficacy of disinfecting compositions based on copper nanoparticles and its oxides in antiseptic solutions of cetylpyridinium chloride and benzalkonium chloride against the causative agent of pseudotuberculosis Y. pseudotuberculosis of in vitro and in vivo experiments. Using the bacteriological method and the results of electron microscopy, high bactericidal activity of disinfecting compositions has been proven. Anti-yersiniosis activity and safety of both compositions were revealed in experimental pseudotuberculosis of conventional white mice. Simultaneous oral administration of the compositions under study to experimental animals limits the initiation and development of the infectious process and prevents the death of laboratory animals. Possible mechanisms of enhancing the biocidal activity of the tested disinfecting compositions are considered. Keywords: pseudotuberculosis, microorganisms, biocidal activity, antiseptic, nanoparticles, zeta potential.

Under laboratory conditions, resistance to insecticides from various chemical classes was assessed on several strains of the German cockroach Blattella germanica obtained from populations collected at sites in Moscow, Kaluga, Sverdlovsk and Moscow regions. It has been established that when applied topically, German cockroaches of all strains are highly resistant to cypermethrin (RR = 133–>4000?), fipronil (RR = 14–61?), chlorpyrifos (RR = 15–40?), weakly tolerant to thiamethoxam and clothianidin (RR = 2–5?). After breeding in an insectarium without insecticide press for several generations, the resistance of M1 strain to cypermethrin decreased by 1.2 times, in U1, M9 and OBN strains resistance remained at the same high level, in U8 strain decreased by 20 times; the resistance to fipronil in M1, U1 and OBN strains decreased by 1.4, 1.7 and 5.0 times, respectively. The level of susceptibility to chlorpyrifos decreased by 1.2–2.2 times, depending on the strain. Tolerance of cockroaches to thiamethoxam and clothianidin remained at the same level. The mechanisms of resistance of the German cockroach to insecticides are discussed. Keywords: pyrethroids, neonicotinoids, organophosphorus compounds, phenylpyrazoles.

The parameters of toxicometry of disinfectants based on sodium hypochlorite obtained by chlorination of an aqueous solution of caustic soda (31 agents) and by electrochemical method – 10 anoliths were established. Based on the determination of the chlorine content in the air, recommendations are given for the safe use of these disinfectants: for surface treatment by wiping and disinfection of air and surfaces by aerosol spraying using a special device – an aerosol generator that provides dispersion of aerosol particles of 5–50 microns. A working solution of sodium hypochlorite with an active chlorine content of 0.015?% is recommended for use by wiping in the presence of people. Keywords: disinfectants, sodium hypochlorite, anolytes, toxicity, irritant effect, inhalation hazard, aerosol, laboratory animals.
