In the last 12 years, the number of child hospitalizations registered in Brazil has exceeded 2.6 million, for this reason, a space where they can have fun and relax in this vulnerable moment becomes essential, in view of this, the law stipulates that all hospitals with pediatric care receive a toy library in their environment. Toy libraries are spaces suitable for children to interact with toys, games, activities or with other children, so it is necessary to have a large number of toys, covering all age groups, to guarantee the fun of any individual.

Making architectonic or urbanistic projects adequate to the climatic conditions is the first step that every designer should take into consideration. Often, architectural patterns are observed in various climatic contexts, disregarding the characteristics of the region, finding the same form, materials, and orientation at different latitudes in Brazil. Therefore, the objective of the present investigation, is to bring to discussion what several authors approach about recommendations for the hot and humid climate and to emphasize, that architecture must play the fundamental role of protection, or filter of the environmental elements that affect the well-being of individuals. The main references mentioned are discussions of authors who are present in the teaching references of the subject Environmental Comfort of the Architecture and Urbanism Course of the Federal University of Amapá (UNIFAP) and the production of sketches and authorial schemes carried out by the Habitar Amazônia Research Group in the development of undergraduate research and publications. With this, it seeks to bring the survey of the main passive strategies to the hot and humid climate, addressing constraints such as ventilation, shade, natural lighting, surroundings, orientation and volumetry, walls and roofs, and materials, so that students can have a database in a didactic way in project design.

The article discusses a Living Space designed and implemented at UFF Engineering's School. Coordinated by the Industrial Design Course of that School. In a participatory manner, students from Engineering, Design and Architecture, Professors and administrative technicians worked to create the Space. In 2019 we were invited by the Management of the School of Engineering to think about a Coworking Living Space for the Academic Community. The School had been approached by the UFF Rector's Team with a proposal to enhance the students' mental health. It was reported that one of the needs was to belong to different living spaces, outside the classroom. In this way, they saw the possibility of creating multifunctional space for complementary to the classes. The space presented is located in the corridor that had been a deposit of furniture discarded by the School. Thus, there was infiltration, little light. In addition to the Visual Identity of the place, the Design team planned furniture from the discarded material, which fit in the place and did not hinder the flow of people, were of low cost, low environmental impact and invited to use.

Several events, fairs and exhibitions take place annually, both national and international. For these events to take place, it is necessary to plan and prepare the infrastructure for the public. Thus, cardboard can represent a possibility of constructive material for use in events and fairs. The objective of this work is to propose the use of cardboard tubes for the construction of the structure and kiosks used to hold a fair in the city of Limeira, São Paulo, aiming at sustainability and environmental awareness of the visiting public. Methodologically, a study was made of some traditional events that take place in the city, and then the structure and kiosks were designed using AutoCAD and SketchUp. As a result, there is a detailed design of the structures and kiosks used in the vegan fair. This study allows concluding that cardboard tubes can compose different constructions in engineering and architecture with satisfactory durability and resistance.

The main objective of this article was to investigate, through the visual perception of consumers, the perceived environmental value of packaging, considering the ability of the type of material used to improve communication. For this, it used methods inherent to the area of Design and Machine Learning, in which Phase 1 consisted of the development of experimental packages designed to support perceptual evaluations on communication about sustainable orientation; Phase 2 adopted methods inherent to the area of Machine Learning and Empirical Aesthetics to collect data with the public; and Phase 3 was equipped with the data collected for the training of predictive and interpretation models that corroborate the understanding of the perception of sustainability through the materials. It was possible to verify, based on the responses provided by the public, the existence of types of materials that contribute to the perception of environmental value, such as paperboard and glass, and materials that undermine this perception, such as metais and polymer, demonstrating the need to disseminate more in-depth information about the subject to the consuming public.

Cultural diversity in culinary practice portrays the polyphony involving a variety of aromas, flavors, people, and places. However, these cultural aspects directly influence food consumption and preparation modes, significantly impacting the habit of sustainable cooking. In this scenario, Design for Sustainable Behavior aims to support solutions oriented to influence behaviors during the use phase of products, to ensure change, lead, and inform the user to a more sustainable decision making. This study aims to present a critical, exploratory, and qualitative literature review on studies of cultural habits for sustainable cooking during the use of household appliances. Through the literature review method, it was possible to identify gaps and emphases on the themes addressed. The results point to a lack of data during the consumption of resources in the domestic environment and the existence of insipient solutions in the area of cooking with a focus on influencing the user to make more sustainable decisions. It is emphasized, thus, the need for the application of Design for Sustainable Behavior strategies in solutions that enable real-time consumption to influence the user to make more sustainable decisions.

Currently, in the organizational context, several practices are adopted without adequate reflection about the paradigms and worldview that anchor them, this can lead to an inadequate understanding and action on the context, causing a deepening of the unsustainability of our ways of being and producing. In this article we present some design implications from the mechanistic perspective and through a bibliographical review and articulation between authors, we seek inspiration in the theme of Regeneration for Organizations for the foundation of regenerative design processes, which may be better means to guide us to an ecological, complex, process-based, and integral worldview.

This informative study consists basically of specific observations in the field of design and sustainability. In a comprehensive context, where the aim is to instill sustainability in all daily actions, the design professional must adapt, evolve and effectively apply the economic, social and environmental dimensions of sustainability in their design practice. This article is the result of conceptual discussions about this theme in the academic environment. Its main objective is to elucidate the challenges that await the new designers in the contemporary world.

The creation of new business models is an emerging topic within several research areas, and part of them has been directed to real contexts, to solve social problems. As an example of the application of this principle, there is Yunus Social Business, an institution that aims to expand the concepts of Social Business. This type of model is based on generating an enterprise that has the purpose of solving a social problem and, many times, of community interest. Therefore, in this article, characterized by a case study methodology, the bases of Social Business and the involvement of this enterprise with Strategic Design are presented. It brings a discussion about how these concepts relate to the Sustainable Development Goals of the United Nations, both applied in the case of Yunus, in which there is the encouragement of social equity and the search for the development of communities.

The study on the applicability of the lean building system also has a brief approach to sustainability in civil engineering and architecture. The development of this study took place through bibliographical research, interviews, application of a questionnaire and collection/analysis of data from companies. The work makes a structured reading of the reality of the southern region of Pará in the face of the lean construction system, which consists of optimizing the productivity of works, from planning to execution.
