Objective: slightly elevated have been independently reported to favorably impact blood glucose. To our knowledge, no study has combined these two ingredients through oral supplementation in an attempt to modify the glycemic response to a glucose load. We determined the impact of acute ingestion of a novel glycine-cinnamon extract mixture on blood glucose, insulin, and related variables following an oral glucose challenge. Methods: Ten men and women (25.4 ± 8.3 yrs) with elevated fasting blood glucose (101.2 ± 6.6 mg•dL-1) ingested a 25 gram glucose beverage with and without SugarClear™, a proprietary blend of glycine+cinnamon extract (as Cinnulin PF®), separated by approximately one week. Blood was collected before and at 20, 60, and 120 minutes post ingestion and analyzed for glucose, insulin, glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1), glucagon, ATP, and brainderived neurotrophic factor (BDNF).Results: Significant reductions in the area under the curve (AUC) were noted for both glucose (15% for total AUC and 52% for net incremental AUC) and insulin (7% for total AUC and 57% for net incremental AUC). The total AUC for GLP-1 was increased by 36%, while the AUC for ATP was increased by 20%. Glucagon was lower by 10% and BDNF higher by 5% with treatment but not in a statistically significant manner (p>0.05).Conclusion: Acute ingestion of SugarClear™, a proprietary blend of glycine and cinnamon extract, promotes a positive impact on blood glucose and insulin following an oral glucose load. The mixture also leads to an increase in both the plasma GLP-1 and ATP. These alterations may have favourable metabolic implications in those with elevated blood glucose. Future work is needed to determine the effect of chronic ingestion of SugarClear™ on glucose regulation and related variables.

Sirtuins are NAD+ dependent enzymes having an ability to modify the structures of proteins and alter their functions by deacetylation activity. This property of sirtuins gave them much attention since past few years and their importance is growing in research rapidly among various multidisciplinary areas. Sirtuins regulate various diseases including diabetes, aging, heart failure and other metabolic disorders which results in growing interest of researchers in understanding the biology of these wonder molecules around the globe. In general, these are the protein deacetylases and weak mono ADP ribosyltransferases which action various histones and transcription factors [1]. Sirtuins are considered as a switch that controls protein acetylation/deacetylation states and ultimately regulates various factors involved in different disease conditions associated with energy metabolism, aging and oxidative stress. Initially, most of the sirtuin research revolved around cancer biology but with time their importance is also unveiled in other disease conditions including diabetes.

Objective: Evaluate the real-world efficacy and safety of canagliflozin in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM), associated to a weight-loss intensive lifestyle intervention program (WLIP), to achieve weight loss greater than 5% at 12 months. Methods: Retrospective review of patients with T2DM included in a WLIP, who were prescribed canagliflozin from June 2015 to December 2016 at four endocrinology clinics in the south of Spain within routine clinical practice context. Changes during 12 months in anthropometric variables, HbA1c, uric acid and adverse events were assessed. Results: 201 patients with T2DM (45.8% women, 60.3 ± 9.4 years old and BMI: 34.9 ± 8.7 kg/m2) were studied. Patients treated with canagliflozin lost an average weight and reduced an average of waist circumference of -4.0 ± 4.2 kg and -3.2 ± 8.4 cm, -5.4 ± 5.7 kg and -4.9 ± 9.9 cm and -5.3 ± 8.0 kg and -7.0 ± 14.6 cm, achieving weight loss greater than 5%: 29.0%, 47.9% and 42.7% of patients at 3, 6 and 12 months, respectively. HbA1c levels were average reduced by -1.2%, -1.3% and -1.3% and 68.8% reached an HbA1c level ≤ 7% at 12 months. 17.9% (36 patients) experienced mild adverse events and canagliflozin treatment was suspended in 23 patients (11.4%).Conclusion: The addition of canagliflozin to the treatment of overweight or obese patients with T2DM, as a complement of a weight-loss intensive lifestyle intervention, was associated with improvement in body weight and glycemic control with relative mild adverse events.

Along with all the commonly known rationale; oxidative stress, reactive oxygen species (ROS), growing number of AGEs, accumulation and outbreak of Tridoshas. Throughout year plays decisive role in the development of Diabetes as well as its complications. In the present study, I have discussed about their effective and economical management based on the principles of Ayurveda in the form of distinctive line of treatment which includes Tab.Dibet-all (a poly herbomineral formulation), Tab. Dtox-OD and Tab Glybra. This trio is indistinguishable from allopathy drugs in terms of pharmacology. With so many benefits concealed inside; this line of treatment is having remarkable potential regarding antidibetic, antiglycating, antihyperlipidimic, rejuvinative and preventive/protective activities by the means of breaking cross-links of proteins induced by AGEs, inhibition of AGE formation, blockade of the AGE–RAGE interaction, suppression of RAGE expression and prevention from glycer-AGEs-induced ROS formation ensuring good control over intricate pathology of diabetes and thus protecting diabetics to a higher extent from the complications of diabetes slowly footing towards them. This is the most imperative thing regarding intricate and vague pathology like Diabetes mellitus. Only the integrated approach towards this gruesome situation will going to help mankind. May this study of ‘Tab. Dibet-all (a poly herbomineral formulation), Tab. Dtox-OD and Tab. Glybra’ with its sovereign effects could serve as a light of hope towards search of ideal treatment of Diabetes mellitus type-2. This can be a supplementary remedy for type-1, hereditary and chronic diabetics also and unquestionably lend a hand to revolutionize the future scenario of these tribulations.
Dtox-OD和Tab Glybra。

Background:  Cardiovascular diseases have been the leading cause for mortality in the last decades. Controlling the modifiable cardiovascular risk factors may reduce mortality due to them. In this context, we tried to identify some of these cardiovascular risk factors in representative population of Casablanca. Methods: Our study concerned 609 subjects (363 women and 246 men) that were aged from 18 to 65 years old. The analyses were based on data from a lifestyle questionnaire with sociodemographic characteristics, medical history and lifestyle factors such as physical activity and smoking. We also assessed Anthropometric measurements and biochemical. Then, our population was subdivided into 3 groups according to their Body Mass Index: Obese, overweight and a normal group. Results: The analysis showed that the mean-age was 54.47 ± 10.89 years old and 59.86% were female. The prevalence of diabetes and hypertension were respectively 38.1% and 35.8% with a dominance of women. The highest atherogenic index of plasma (AIP) was observed in overweight and obese groups with 31.1%, 28.2% respectively. The prevalence of hypercholesterolemia was 7.1 %. We notice that 35.20%, 13.98% and 1.81% have respectively 3 ,4 and 5 Cardiovascular disease risk factors whereas 5.26% have none, we observed too that women have more (59.7% vs. 40.3%).Conclusion: There is a high prevalence of cardiovascular risk factors in the general population of Casablanca, which is due to unhealthy habits like sedentary life style, Diabetes and/or Hypertension.
