To describe full part information and promote development of CAD/CAM technique, six feature operator algorithms such as PAD, SHAFT are defined by analyzing static feature structure of parts; by research of dynamic semantic relation between features, two reasonable constraint features “AND constraint feature” and “OR constraint feature” are attained; organic combination of them realizes dynamic semantic connection between static features, and feature-based part semantic relationship geometry model (PSRGM) is built. Based on dynamic generating process of PSRGM and feature coding structure, feature gene coding is completed, and DNA coding of part feature series is realized. Taking the crank for example, application of this method is illustrated.

Although E-Learning has grown into a revolutionary way of learning and is currently widely accepted, it still faces many problems, especially in its implementations. The research community has believed that an E-Learning ecosystem is the next generation E-Learning. Nowadays, the current trend of Web 2.0 has a strong impact on E-Learning. In this paper, mashups are used to build an E-Learning ecosystem. A mashup approach to an E-Learning ecosystem enhances the flourish and sustainability of E-Learning in a productive and cost-effective way. This paper describes the concepts of vertical stack, users and operations in a mashup E-Learning ecosystem. A prototype system, named Jampots, has been built. Jampots has features such as openness, reusability, lightweight structure, end user-orientation and self-regulation.

Use cases have been used to describe functional requirements of information systems in a natural language. In the design phase, use cases can be used to construct design model and then the model can be checked by some static analysis techniques. Since errors could be created while the design is refined and bugs could be planted in the implementation, after going through the software developing process, it is still question if the resulting system satisfies the original requirements. In this paper, we propose a new technique to rebuild use cases for web applications, thus we can compare the generated use cases with the designed use cases. For a web application, due to its special navigation character, we can get rich information in the log file while the user navigates the web. From the log file, we extract raw data that contains basic structures of the use case. After applying Natural Language Processing technique, we determine the boundary of raw data, reduce the data redundancy, and adjust the sentence, finally, we rebuild the use cases. Standford Parser has been employed to perform the sentence analysis for us. A prototype has been developed to support our technique.

In recent years, the travel time predictions have become a popular research topic. In this paper, we present a new algorithm of the travel time predictions based on the idea of using the shared traveler’s positions to collect traffic conditions. Several experiments show that our algorithm has a broader applied area than existing algorithms and can provide real-time and the accurate predictions for the travelers. And when there are more travelers and more positions shared among them, the more accurate predictions of our algorithm will be.

This research aims to explore the status of Korean U-City education, analyze the contents of U-City Human Resource Development (HRD) business, and propose a direction to implement the U-City education in the future. This thesis is divided into 3 sections; examination on the status of U-City education in domestic institutions and education programs, examination on 4 major U-City HRD businesses in the Ministry of Land, Transport, and Maritime Affairs (MLTM), and policy proposal on implementing U-City education in the future. It is expected that a great number of human resources would be required when U-City is carried forward in diverse business districts. This research thereby presents resolutions and alternatives to facilitate the development of U-City education programs and provide assistance to execute the U-City education process.

Currently IMO recommendation mentioned EDIdata elements only for Electronic Means for the Clearance of ships, which is only for electronic documents. Most countries followed by IMO recommendation has been using EDI or XML document(in case of applying single window system)between user and port authority. However, because there are not existing standard communication interface, shipping company(it is declaring entity) have to submit electronic document through various transfer method by corresponding country. Even though it defines standard document for Electronic Means for the Clearance of ships, it is not suitable to goal of IMO because of not defining interface standard. To support messaging standard, other international standard organization defined messaging specification for document exchanging. Therefore, this document proposes the interface standard between shipping company and port authority. Also it proposes the base that is able to support international interoperability integrating with Single Window and UNeDocs. Also it is possible to extend service as just minimal modification of legacy system because it supports to communication interface Future study is that it will design the combined model with Single Window system and will propose designed model for Electronic Means for the Clearance of ships to IMO.Furthermore, when it implements Single Window Guideline for IMO member country, it shall support IMO member country to smoothly interface with other country.

This paper proposes a novel method for planning exploration path in 3D object observation. First, we give a viewpoint quality metric, which combines the notion of mesh saliency and fuzzy nearness. Each viewpoint corresponds to a fuzzy set, and the quality of a viewpoint can be measured by fuzzy nearness between a normal fuzzy set and the ideal fuzzy set. Then, we compute an optimal viewpoint set. Viewpoints in the optimal viewpoint set are key points on the exploration path. We use a virtual viewpoint to replace a viewpoint set, and the fuzzy set which corresponds to the virtual viewpoint can be calculated by fuzzy comprehensive evaluation. The quality of the virtual viewpoint can be taken as an objective function and the optimal viewpoint set can be obtained by ant colony optimization algorithm. Finally, we sort the viewpoints in the optimal viewpoint set and connect them using cardinal spline curve. Consequently, the automatic exploration path is constructed. Experimental results show that our method can obtain a good exploration path which can help observer understand an object roundly and quickly.

In a recent study, Lin [11] proposed the LCS for short-term stock forecast. Gershoff [13] proposed the extended Classifier system (XCS) agent to model different traders by supplying different input information. Announcement made by Morgan Stanley Capital Investment (MSCI) regarding the additions, removals, and even the weights of the component stocks in its country indices every quarter generally would cause changes to the prices and/or trade volumes of the associated component stocks. This paper takes an XCS in artificial intelligence to dynamically learn and adapt to the changes to the component stocks in order to optimize portfolio allocation of the component stocks. Since these price trends of MSCI component stocks are influenced by unknown and unpredictable surroundings, using XCS to model the fluctuations on financial market allows for the capability to discover the patterns of future trends. This simulation work on the basis of the changes to 121 component stocks in the MSCI Taiwan index between 1998 and 2009 suggests the XCS can produce the great profit and optimize portfolio allocation.

Heterogeneous convergence networks will integrate multiple access technologies to provide seamless mobility for users with high-speed connectivity. This will give rise to a heterogeneous networks environment that can provide open standard interfaces regardless of the diversity of heterogeneous networks, where handoff mechanism is used to keep the services continued. In this paper, a heterogeneous network platform is constructed according to a novel architecture based on network adaptation layer. And a handoff mechanism based on capability adaptation is proposed to implement seamless handoff process, where the capability adaptation algorithm is given to select the optimal network and terminal. In addition, an illustration is given in detail to present the adaptation and handoff process with stream media service, which is effective to satisfy the requirements of the applications for modern service industry.

In order to increase the critical value of phase transition, which can be used to measure the traffic condition, in this paper, a new routing strategy to improve traffic congestion on scale-free network is proposed. Instead of using the routing strategy of shortest path, a new routing strategy is given to find a routing path with the shortest time delay. Simulations results indicate that the new routing strategy can better improve the traffic congestion compared to the shortest path routing strategy.
