The heuristic methods have been widely developed for solution of complicated optimization methods. Recently hybrid methods that are based on combination of different approaches have shown more potential in this regard. This paper also introduces a new method by embedding the idea of particle swarm (PS) intelligence into the well-known method of simulated annealing (SA). This way SA has been capable to search a subspace of the search space by means of an individual particle; therefore the annealing process can start from lower temperatures and use shorter Markov chains for each particle, leading to faster solutions. The results obtained with the proposed method show its potential in achieving both accuracy and speed in small and medium size problems, compared to many advanced methods.

The multiple attribute decision making problems with incomplete attribute weights under intuitionistic fuzzy environment are investigated. Some basic concepts related to the theory of intuitionistic fuzzy set, including the intuitionistic fuzzy weighted averaging (IFWA) operator, score function, and accuracy function, are reviewed. Based on the concept of projection, some optimization models, by which the attribute weights can be derived, are established. Then the alternatives are ranked, and the most desirable one is selected according to the score and accuracy degree of the collective intuitionistic fuzzy attribute values aggregated by IFWA operator. Finally, the feasibility of the proposed approach is verified by an illustrative example.

For multiple inputs and multiple outputs (MIMO) networked control systems (NCSs) with limited communication channels, only some of sensors and actuators can access networks at any one time. Taken it into account, the system model is built by introducing communication matrixes, which reuse the last control signals and discard the current output signals when nodes fail to access networks. Then the controllability and the observability of the control systems are analyzed, and the selection principle of its periodic communication sequences is given. Based on the periodic communication sequences, a stable Linear Quadratic Gaussian (LQG) optimal networked controller is designed with kalman filtering and LQ regulator. Finally, numerical examples are given to demonstrate the feasibility and validity of the proposed method.

The dynamic pricing management strategy of network system is established in this paper. By introducing the Cobb - Douglas demand function and using the optimization theory and economic boundary theory, the scalable connection management strategy for QoS-enabled networks is studied to make the benefits of the network system and non-cooperative users maximizing and the calculation methods are presented to give the optimal provisioning and dynamic pricing of multiple service classes networks. In order to encourage and guide the non-cooperative users to select the serving request, which is stable at the optimal provisioning of the network system, the nonlinear and crossly influencing incentive pricing strategy is given by introducing the idea of game theory. The users will be amerced in economy when the demand of users deviate the expectation, this will be benefit to increase the rate of network resource using. This management strategy meets the demands of an increasing number of network users as well as a wide variety of network applications. The rationality and validity is verified by the simulator example.

Single-hidden-layer feedforward networks (SLFNs) with radial basis function (RBF) hidden nodes are universal approximators when all the parameters of the networks are allowed adjustable. The learning speed of SLFNs is in general far slower than required and it has been a major bottleneck in their applications for past decades) Huang et al. propose a new learning algorithm called extreme learning machine (ELM) for SLFNs which randomly chooses hidden nodes and analytically determines the output weights. In this paper, common choices of RBF for generating ELM are analyzed and compared. The purpose of this study is to explore comparative strengths and weaknesses of the choices and to show some useful guidelines on how to choose an appropriate RBF hidden nodes for a particular problem.

A chaotic neural network with self-feedback of trigonometric function is presented by introducing non-linear trigonometric function as self-feedback of chaotic neural network. The reversed bifurcation and the maximum Lyapunov exponent of the chaotic neuron are given. This chaotic neural network is used to the 10-city traveling salesman problem (TSP), and the influence of trigonometric function self-feedback on TSP is analyzed. The simulation on TSP indicates that the chaotic neural network with self-feedback of trigonometric function can realize the global optimization with faster speed and that the optimization performance of the proposed chaotic neural network is superior to that of the network with linear self-feedback.

To probe into the internal mechanism of multi-agent formation, game theory is used to model the interaction between agents and Win-Stay-Lose-Shift strategy to instruct agents' action. Equations are introduced to formulate how agents update their positions. The Win-Stay-Lose-Shift strategy along with the update equations depicts the dynamics of multi-agent formation. And simulations are designed and performed to observe the development of multi-agent formation. The results of simulation show the feasibility of the idea in this paper.

This paper further investigated the problem of robust H∞ control for uncertain fuzzy neutral systems with both distributed delays and input delays. Different from literature[4], not only input delays will be carefully considered, but also how to to reducing the conservativeness in the designing of fuzzy controller will be shown by Relaxed LMI. Based on Takagi-Sugeno (T-S) fuzzy model and a useful matrix inequality, some sufficient conditions for the solvability of the problem is obtained by utilizing a proper Lyapunov functional and LMI approach.

The gamma ray scattering energy spectrum detected by one detector was presented to distinguish the gas liquid two-phase flow regime of vertical pipe. The simulation geometries of the gamma ray scattering measurement were built using Monte Carlo software Geant4. Computer simulations were carried out with homogeneous flow, annular flow and slug flow. The results show that the scattering energy characters of homogeneous flow and annular flow have significantly different. The scattering spectrum of slug flow is similar to annular flow for long gas slugs and similar to homogeneous flow for short gas slugs. The RBF neural networks were used to predict the flow regime. The results show that the homogeneous flow and annular flow can be completely distinguished and most of the slug flows were recognized by the neural network. It was demonstrated that the method of one detector scattering energy spectrum has the ability to identify the typical gas liquid flow regime of vertical pipe and fit the applications in engineering.
