Fault location of a teed-network with wavelet transform and neural networks 基于小波变换和神经网络的馈网故障定位

A new technique using wavelet transforms and neural networks for fault location in a tee-circuit is proposed in this paper. Fault simulation is carried out in EMTP96 using a frequency dependent transmission line model. Voltage and current signals are obtained for a single phase (phase-A) to ground fault at every 500 m distance on one of the branches, which is 64.09 km long. Simulation is carried out for 3 cycles (60 ms) with step size /spl Delta/t, of 2.5 /spl mu/s to abstract the high frequency component of the signal and every 100 points have been selected as output. Two cycles of waveform, covering pre-fault and post-fault information are abstracted for further analysis. These waveforms are then used in wavelet analysis to generate the training pattern. Two different mother wavelets have been used to decompose the signal, from which the statistical information is abstracted as the training pattern. RBF network was trained and cross-validated with unseen data.

An intelligent tutor for power system control center operator training 电力系统控制中心操作人员培训的智能导师

This paper deals with the use of the intelligent tutor SPARSE-IT, as an example of an engineering application of artificial intelligence techniques in power systems control center environment. This tutor works in close association with SPARSE, an expert system specialized in the interpretation of the alarm messages produced by the SCADA system during serious incidents. Its main purpose is the training of the control center operators in this precise task. This paper discusses issues such as the representation of an adequate user model, the acquisition of the domain knowledge to be taught to the operators and techniques for the accurate evaluation of the trainee's progress.

Wavelet-based intelligent system for monitoring non-stationary disturbances 基于小波的非平稳扰动智能监测系统

This paper presents a wavelet-based procedure that will assist in automated detecting, classifying, and measuring of different power system disturbances. Two pattern recognition techniques are used to evaluate the efficiency of the features of the nonstationary signal in the wavelet domain. The paper also presents a new technique that can monitor the variations of the RMS value and any further changes in the nonstationary signal.

Allocation of frequency regulation services 调频业务的分配

A novel concept for directly quantifying the value of frequency regulation services of individual generators is proposed in this paper. Individual generator dynamics are explicitly incorporated into the optimisation problem as constraints, which allowed the frequency fluctuations to be also directly monitored and controlled. The approach eliminates the need for not well defined concepts of primary and secondary responses. The developed optimisation problem contains a mix of algebraic and differential equations. In order to solve this complex problem, generating plant dynamic equations are transformed into discrete equations and then a Benders based decomposition applied. The validity of approach is demonstrated on an example with 8 generators.

A verification of automatic frequency controller for Minami-Fukumitsu back-to-back converter station 南福光背靠背换流站自动频率控制器的验证

A multi-variable controlled AFC (automatic frequency controller) (AFC) is installed in Minami-Fukumitsu BTB (back-to-back) to stabilize the frequency of the power system after a large disturbance (like one part of the power system is divided from the other part) and to enhance suppression of frequency fluctuation. This paper shows study results on unique problems caused by system configuration and test results using an actual power system to verify performance. It also shows the effectiveness of power system analysis.

Optimum location dependency of FACTS devices on reactive power demand FACTS设备对无功需求的最优位置依赖性

The injection of reactive power with STATCOM for the control of load bus voltage of a radial system at various locations is examined. The STATCOM which consists of a fixed capacitor bank and a three phase single level voltage source inverter is defined in brief. Also highlighted are new concepts of variable pulse widths and delay angles on the effectiveness of STATCOM for loads such as induction machines and synchronous machines illustrated by simulation. Results suggest, for the load bus voltage to remain within statuary limits, the cost of inverter per reactive power injection is more economical at the load bus.

Electrical power industries are rapidly being deregulated all over the world. They need new types of power technology products. The author introduces these trends of deregulation in Japan and in East Asia and proposes some examples of new technologies which are applied to these new markets. The electrical power system needs highly reliable and low price equipment and control systems whether deregulation is proceeding or not. The author introduces these advanced technologies as well including bidding system, demand side technology, smart power system (gas insulated substations, HVDC, EMS/SCADA and static VAr compensators), and energy saving technologies.

Production scheduling: regulation or deregulation-back to a theoretical basis 生产调度:管制还是放松管制——回到理论基础

This paper addresses the issue of regulation versus deregulation in view of a theoretical basis provided by the Lagrangian dual optimization principles. The paper shows that dual prices, as compared with primal costs, tend to be lower in low-load periods, but rise to much higher values in peak periods. Thus, theoretically, deregulation based on dual optimization principles leads to a higher cost of energy for the consumer. As compared with the regulated operation or with deregulated operation based on primal optimization principles such as bilateral contracts.

This paper describes a modern integrated network management system used to remotely control HV substations and to supervise manual operations on MV distribution equipment. The system automatically processes topology and highlights de-energized feeders when devices change state after telemetry input or manually dressing. System alterations and switching schedules are prepared in advance and operations can be automatically checked against utility defined safety rules. Power analysis functions can analyze the HV subtransmission network or individual distribution feeders. One of the major benefits is that SCADA, world-map schematic diagrams, plant parameters and network connectivity are stored in one consistent system. Data is held at a variety of levels of detail to suit both high level analysis and detailed device operation. Communication between subsystems uses the Common Object Request Broker Architecture (CORBA). This paper reports on the experience of migration of the business data and the day-to-day operations to such a system.

Interaction analysis and co-ordination of SVC voltage and damping control SVC电压与阻尼控制的交互分析与协调

In this paper, the interaction between SVC voltage and damping control is studied. It is revealed by analysis that the SVC voltage and damping control, in fact, conflict each other and one function is performed always at the price of sacrificing the performance of another function. The incompatibility between SVC voltage and damping control not only just exists but also is inherent. To tackle the counteraction between two different control functions of the SVC, a scheme of co-ordination is proposed in the paper. The scheme is based on an optimal search using nonlinear programming. Test results of an example power system are presented, which confirm the analytical studies and demonstrate the success of the scheme of co-ordination proposed.
