The goal of this paper is to examine how the practices of small businesses engaged in acquiring, repairing, and reselling second-hand goods in Uzbekistan can contribute insights for shaping policies related to responsible consumption and decent work. Employing Gibson-Graham's method of reading for difference, this project aims to portray the diversity of the second-hand industry in Tashkent and reframe the narrative on the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals to render them more inclusive and performance-oriented. Data for the paper were gathered through a focus group and structured interviews with Uzbek entrepreneurs in four neighborhoods of Tashkent. The interview findings reveal that, beyond income and job security, entrepreneurs in Uzbekistan's second-hand industry highly value being self-employed and the connections their work allows them to establish with their customers. Moreover, this article underscores that responsible consumption is a dynamic concept primarily reliant on accessibility, creativity, and connectivity with one's surroundings and social network.

This research investigated the relationship between the digitalization of human capital, digital talent, and innovation capabilities among Business Unit employees. The mediating role of digital talent in the digital transformation of human resources and innovation capability among SMEs was examined. Business Unit employees were tested using the PLS-SEM method, and a survey was conducted on SME Business Unit employees. The purposive technique was developed with convenience sampling and chosen as a non-probability sampling technique. The primary data sources were 185 respondents who worked within the SME business unit in Indonesia. The findings indicate that the digital transformation of human resources, talent, and innovative capacity has a strong positive correlation. The link between innovative capabilities and digital transformation is mediated by digital talent. This study contributes to the human resources post-recruitment, talent management, and digital talent literature in the management function, and it underscores the crucial role of human and technological factors in the digital transformation of human resources, which is increasingly visible on the path to organizational success.

The economic growth and development of a country depend on the inflow of foreign direct investment, and the legal environment factors play an important role in securing it. Compared to other countries in South-Eastern Europe, Serbia has achieved remarkable results in terms of FDI inflows over the last ten years. The research examines the impact of the legal environment on FDI inflows in Serbia. The study was conducted using a quantitative approach and a survey technique based on a structured questionnaire. The basic set of the research consists of the 300 most prominent foreign investors (response rate of 28%) who invested capital in Serbia in the period 2011-2019. The results of the conducted research show that ownership in Serbian companies is the most important factor in the legal environment that influences a foreign investor's decision to invest capital in these companies. The results show that labor legislation, law enforcement, and confidence in the legal system can significantly contribute to a foreign investor's decision to invest capital in Serbia. The legal environment's implications influence investor decisions and shape the overall investment climate of a country. A well-structured and investor-friendly legal framework will increase Serbia's competitiveness and attractiveness for foreign investments.

Azerbaijan's dynamic and diverse retail landscape is driving an escalating demand for motivated personnel, both locally and globally, to address sustainable development requirements. In competitive and demanding retail environments, the success of organizations can rely on confident, skilled, motivated, and informed employees to meet challenging business demands and inclusive growth. As Azerbaijan's retail competitive edge continues to expand, there is a heightened need for effective employer-employee interactions and strategic human capital to navigate intricate organizational hurdles. The targeted population for this study included current retail employees, and semi-structured in-depth interviews with 15 participants from 15 different retail service organizations were conducted. Hence, this research study addresses a crucial gap in leadership literature by examining the interplay between destructive leadership and employees' psychological empowerment, encompassing dimensions like meaningfulness, self-determination, competence, and impact. Employing a qualitative phenomenological approach, the study delves into the real-life experiences of employees within the Azerbaijani retail sector. The study concludes that destructive leadership can significantly hamper employees' psychological empowerment, resulting in negative impacts on their work role orientation, engagement, productivity, and commitment.

Assessing the effectiveness of radical and incremental innovation in SMEs in Eastern European countries is a significant issue in regional economics. In contrast, radical innovation entails the creation of wholly novel goods or organization processes that establish new markets. Progressive enhancements to current goods and processes are referred to as incremental innovation. This study explains the influence of incremental and radical innovation on performance of small and medium-sized enterprises in Eastern Europe. Employing EUROSTAT data from 2012 to 2021 using regression analysis and a graphical model, we examined basic, radical, and incremental innovation and total researcher performance in SMEs, which could enormously affect business performance in Eastern European countries. Our findings indicated that radical, incremental innovation and total research are all favourably related to the performance of SMEs and an approach to studying various innovations and their impact on SMEs. The particular performance effects of radical and incremental innovations in Eastern European SMEs might vary considerably. To give more specific knowledge and suggestions for SMEs, empirical investigations and comprehensive research are required. Our results can contribute to SMEs both theoretically and practically, providing fresh theoretical perspectives for scholars and helpful management consequences for administrators of SMEs in developing countries.

The purpose of this research is to evaluate how companies approach cybersecurity, which measures the companies set, and how it is reflected in relation to organizational learning. A questionnaire was distributed electronically among 124 IT and IS professionals working in companies based in the Czech and Slovak Republic. Hypotheses were tested using the chi-square test of independence, the Mann–Whitney U test, and the Pearson correlation coefficient. The results depict that cybersecurity is a fundamental topic for most companies. Unless companies declare the importance of cybersecurity, they do not tend to set and use security rules unless they are not under security laws. Research shows that costs for cybersecurity are variable, not fixed, and are in correlation with the size of the company and the turnover.

This paper explores the Critical Success Factors in e-commerce in Uzbekistan. First, the most essential variables are identified through a literature review. Then, experts in the Uzbekistan e-commerce industry evaluate each potential success factor. Third, the most outstanding factors are elicited through Factor Analysis. While some of the research findings suggest addressing IT-related variables to help secure customers in line with previous studies in developing countries, an unexpected discovery is human resources emphasis, which is typically emphasized in more developing countries. A qualitative part of the research makes an important contribution to e-commerce development. In particular, responsible institutions are recommended to revisit their counterfeit products policies. The paper serves as a guide for Uzbekistan e-commerce entities. Besides its practical value, the study contributes to the extant literature by enlarging the research body of critical success factors among developing countries.

This study explores the relationship between territorial marketing and branding and a country's regional competitiveness and aims to assess the impact of marketing strategies and policies of cities and territories on that regional competitiveness. Two hypotheses are examined. The first hypothesis suggests that improving a city's visibility on the Internet attracts tourists and foreign investors. The second hypothesis highlights the importance of high-quality information content on city websites to enhance competitiveness. The study conducts a comprehensive analysis of European countries to evaluate the impact of territorial marketing on competitiveness. This includes correlation analysis of competitiveness indices, analysis of Google Trends search queries to identify city name search trends, and content analysis of city websites to assess marketing quality. The findings reveal that cities with rich historical and cultural attractions are gaining popularity online, consequently increasing their competitiveness in both the tourism and investment sectors.

This study investigates the bank risk-taking channel of monetary policy transmission by comprehensively analyzing multiple bank risk measurements amid monetary policy shocks in Vietnam. Using banking data for 2008–2021, a dynamic panel model is estimated to examine the risk exposure of 30 Vietnamese commercial banks. The paper employs the annual M2 money supply growth as a monetary policy variable, besides two policy interest rates established by the central bank. We find that an expansion of monetary policy benefits the quality of loan portfolios; however, reduced interest rates or an extended money supply increase insolvency risk. We also document that heightened economic growth corresponds to a reduced likelihood of credit and insolvency risks, while a surge in the inflation rate leads to an escalation in insolvency risk, manifested by a decline in the Z-score index. Overall, the findings on different risk dimensions in this paper are expected to draw a comprehensive picture of banks’ risk appetite and behavior in response to monetary changes.

Scientific novelty of this study is determined by the fact that the assessment of the bank's competitiveness is carried out in the context of financial stability. In international financial organisations (which include banks), the financial stability of a bank is understood as an effective ability to distribute financial resources, ensure financial risk management (which is what banks do). This approach to determining the financial stability of a bank is also used in the study – the essence of financial stability reflects the state of financial resources and the degree of their use. Consequently, stability is also assessed through the balance of sources of flows of attracted financial resources, which are basic for the functioning of the bank and flows that determine the directions of use of such resources. The practical significance of the study is conditioned by the fact that the financial stability of a bank determines its ability to constantly develop, which is a gradual, dynamic movement in a competitive market within the framework of the chosen strategy.
