The conditions for cocultivation of aerobic methylotrophic bacteria Methylophilus quaylei and Methylorubrum extorquens and control of the content of individual strains in the consortium were optimized. It was shown that the production of exopolysaccharide and poly-3-hydroxybutyrate in a mixed culture is close to their production by pure cultures of M. quaylei and M. extorquens, respectively.

It has been found that the cup plant green mass is a promising substrate to culture yeasts. This plant in the Republic of North Ossetia-Alania is a perennial, high-yield introduced species, yielding up to 1500 cwt of green mass per hectare. Using the cup plant green mass to culture yeasts is economically preferable, due to the high nutrient content.

BIOCATALYTIC PROCESSES OF LOW-TEMPERATURE SYNTHESIS OF ESTERS. MODULATION OF THE FUNCTIONAL PROPERTIES OF LIPASE BY THE CHOICE OF SOLVENT AND SUPPORT FOR IMMOBILIZATION

Biocatalytic processes for the synthesis of valuable products, such as different esters for various purposes, have been studied using heterogeneous biocatalysts prepared by immobilizing the recombinant lipase rPichia/lip on mesoporous silica (SiO2) and macroporous carbon aerogel (MCA). It was found that the functional properties of immobilized lipase, such as enzymatic activity, specificity toward pair of substrates (acid and alcohol), the molecules of which differ in the number of carbon atoms (C), as well as operational stability, depended on the method of adsorptive immobilization, the chemical nature of the support, and polarity of the organic solvent, i.e. logP. The functional properties of rPichia/lip have been shown to be modulated by the selection of an organic solvent and support for lipase immobilization.

Enriched cultures of olfactory ensheathing cells and neural stem/progenitor cells were obtained according to our developed protocols from the olfactory mucosa of rat and human. It has been shown that only transplantation of human and rat olfactory ensheathing cells leads to a significant decrease in the size of cysts, as well as their complete disappearance in some animals.
