Student Engagement in Software Engineering Group Projects: An Action Research Study 学生参与软件工程小组项目:一项行动研究

We present an action research study on student engagement in group work. The study was carried out within CPT202 Software Engineering Group Projects, a UK Level Two module with 370 students enrolled during the 2020-2021 academic year. The primary finding of our action research is that peer evaluation could encourage student engagement in group work. In addition, student engagement in group work positively correlates with their academic performances. We also discuss several effective strategies in supporting student engagement in the group work of software engineering projects. The results and findings have pedagogical implications in encouraging student engagement not only in software engineering group projects, but also in general activities that involve students working in a group.

Based on the new demand of national strategic development and the new situation of international competition, the construction of first-class universities and first-class majors and the realization of the higher education connotative development shall be accelerated. In the meantime, new technologies are emerging in the field of electrical engineering, the cross integration of disciplines and specialties is more extensive, and the demand for talents in enterprises become more and more diverse. Therefore, electrical engineering major in our university focus on the goal of National Engineering Education Certification and first-class major construction, proposed “Four-dimensional practical teaching, Multimedia integration, System reconfiguration” multi-innovation methods to conduct major construction.

Effect of Distant Education on Children's Academic Achievement in Primary Schools During Corona Pandemic in Dubai Emirate- Field Study 迪拜酋长国冠状病毒大流行期间远程教育对小学生学业成绩的影响——实地研究

This study aimed to examine the effect of distance education on the level of educational achievement of children during the Corona period in ten primary schools in the Emirate of Dubai. To achieve the objectives of the study the researchers adopted the descriptive analytical approach. The quantitative method of data collection had been applied using the electronic questionnaire tool consisted of four main axes for data collection and had been distributed to the study sample consisted of 190 students’ parents and administrators selected by using simple random techniques. The results of the study indicated that the participation of students in the educational process, and in the establishment of appropriate educational programs and applications for the transmission to distance learning have contributed to reducing the negative effects of the process of shifting from traditional education / face-to-face education classroom teaching to virtual classroom (ZOOM).The study recommended the need for strengthening distance education mechanisms, which contribute in developing the student's interests, tendencies, attitudes, concentrating on the study material, and using of safe and secured electronic devices to increase the search for additional information to reach the correct knowledge. Also, the school administration should have good e-learning plan ahead with required financial credits that will help in overcoming the crisis and mange distance learning processes to reach future objectives successfully.

Teaching practice of engineering mechanics using simulation technology to solve students’ learning problems 运用仿真技术解决学生学习问题的工程力学教学实践

The problem of poor mathematical calculation ability of vocational college students has existed for a long time, which has affected the study of Engineering Mechanics. It is common for students to encounter difficult problems, which should be solved effectively. Aiming at a difficult problem raised by the students, this study has made some innovative attempts. Combined with the characteristics of the problems raised by the students, the research group proposed a solution strategy combining simulation analysis and traditional mathematical calculations. The relevant model was established and simulated on a server. Rich data and colorful stress nephograms were obtained, which facilitated the students’ learning. Subsequently, the detailed integral calculation process was sorted out by the teachers. The result of integral calculation is 0.00803 mm, which is very close to the result of simulation (0.007995 mm). These materials are applied in classroom teaching experiment to explore more effective teaching mode of engineering mechanics. Teaching evaluation shows that simulation technology can get rich digital resources, which have the characteristics of visualization. Colorful nephogram can help students better understand the traditional mathematical calculation process. The students’ problems have been solved effectively and their interest in learning has been improved. It is a good way to use simulation technology to improve the quality of teaching. Engineering Mechanics has many obscure concepts and difficult experiments, which affect the quality of teaching and students’ confidence. The application of more new technologies in teaching should be explored by more scholars.

Analysis and Optimization of Interactive Behavior in Middle School Information Technology Classroom Based on iFIAS 基于iFIAS的中学信息技术课堂互动行为分析与优化

Information Technology (IT) course is important for cultivating middle school students' information literacy. Observing and analyzing Information Technology Classroom (ITC) teaching behavior is of great significance to improving the quality of classroom teaching and promoting teachers' professional development. This article adopts the improved Flanders Interactive Analysis System (iFIAS) method to analyze them. The examples are selected from the national high-quality lessons platform of China. The results of quantitative analysis suggest that there are obvious features of a mature classroom teaching and there are optimization paths can be followed from an excellent teaching behavior.

The rapid development of artificial intelligence technology has injected new vitality into the education industry. With the support of big data, students' process activity data can be properly recorded. Through automatic coding, students' learning process and learning results can be analyzed to help teachers master students' learning dynamics, so that the cultivation of students' computing thinking more targeted. Taking the programming course as an example, based on big data analysis, multimedia assistance, teaching evaluation integration, teacher wisdom integration and machine wisdom, combined with the core quality of the discipline, build a "personalized learning model supported by human-computer collaboration", in order to provide teachers with accurate teaching ideas, and provide support for students' personalized and diversified development.

Based on the learning needs of college students under the background of new media, the paper uses the methods of literature investigation, network consultation and investigation to explore how to improve the information literacy ability of college students. To adapt to the changes of information society under the background of media convergence and meet the diversified information needs of users, the paper explores the information literacy education mode of university libraries under the new media environment, improves the service dimensions and service modes of university libraries, and puts forward the strategy of "one body, two wings and three belts" to cultivate students' information literacy ability of university libraries.

Learning mathematical knowledge from life experiences and solving practical problems independently can help students understand the significance and necessity of math in the process of independent exploration, cooperation, and exchanges. Further, they can understand and grasp fundamental life mathematical knowledge, skills, mathematical ideas, and methods and obtain extensive experience in mathematical activities. This study designed a game system to learn life-oriented math with Visual studio and Canva. Through activity designs and teaching-aid instruments, the life-oriented math games enable learners to experience the true essence of math from games in virtual life and enrich the meaning of life in the mathematical application. The game system for learning life-oriented math allows teachers and students to interact, learn, and discuss, forming a picture of learning together by discussing mathematical problems in the context of life experience.
