The past decade has witnessed enormous advancement in online educational resources. One noteworthy advancement has been the development of automatic learning platforms. The introduction of this new technology has raised questions about its effectiveness in aiding educators to improve the engagement of students and evaluate their achievement of learning outcomes. While the use of open-ended questions to assess learners' outcomes is valuable, the workload demanded of educators can increase considerably when open-ended questions are used in large classes. We have experimented with a semi-automatic method to help grade short open-ended questions answered in Thai language. Our method employed Keyword Matching and unsupervised document grouping. Fixed types of questions were tested using different algorithms. Keyword Matching was found to be an effective method for a relatively fixed, yet open-ended set of answers. For non-fixed types of answers, Document Clustering proved suitable. In generating grading tools, we adopted three methods: Keyword Matching; Sentence Vector Similarity Ranking; and Document Clustering with TF-IDF and K-Means. The algorithms were found to be useful for online learning and grading specific content-based answers which, in turn, may be used as a guide in directing educators who wish to elicit information to provide feedback.

How to further increase the programming interest of the C++ course for all freshmen is still a very challenging problem for the time being. The International Collegiate Programming Contest (ICPC) is sponsored by the Association for Computing Machinery (ACM). It is an annual competition designed to showcase college students' innovative ability, team spirit and ability to write programs, and analyze and solve problems under pressure. Aiming at the main problems existing in traditional C++ curriculum teaching, a live code teaching method and an ACM/ICPC innovation model are proposed in this paper that highlights the "student-centered" teaching concept. By taking the "problem-solving" as the main line of teaching, the "live code" as the teaching method, and the informatization teaching as the means, the ACM/ICPC competition promotes the integration of the students' theory and practice. The results of more than ten years of practical teaching show that the proposed live code pedagogy and the ACM/ICPC-based reform have effectively cultivated the students' programming interest and computational thinking, and significantly improved their programming and innovation abilities. At present, the live code teaching method and the ACM/ICPC innovation model have been effectively promoted and applied in the three campuses of our university, as they have a certain leading and exemplary role in cultivating strong professional programming skills, computational thinking, global vision and the all-round development of top-notch innovative talents in the computer field.

The rapid development of the international process has made English the most widely used foreign language. However, due to the limited enrollment scope, uneven distribution of high-quality teachers' resources, high cost of classroom setting, single teaching form, and poor flexibility of students' independent class time, its further development is limited. The online learning platform for college English is designed and implemented. The platform comprehensively improves college English ability from four aspects of listening, reading, dialogue and writing, supports "one to many", "one to one" and other learning methods, and truly turns the classroom initiative to students. The overall architecture design of the platform has been completed, and the platform function modules have been designed. The platform functions are divided into five modules: user service, educational administration management, online learning, platform operation, and recommendation system. The system server uses the Spring MVC framework, structured business logic data is stored in the MySQL database, unstructured audio and video information can be stored in video files, and the front-end uses the Vue framework, The JSON data format is used for front and back data interaction. In the recommendation system module, collaborative filtering algorithm is used to achieve personalized recommendation of courses and popular essence posts.

E-learning development can be effectively run by using an organized approach such as the ITIL (Information Technology Infrastructure Library)’s service portfolio. In this study we create service level agreements (SLAs) for Ethiopian e-learning vocational teacher training using the service portfolio approach, in the case of Ethiopian Technical University (ETU) and its 15 satellite campuses. Earlier, we have defined four core ICT services and in this current study the requirements for these services are shown from users’ perspective. In this study we approach the evaluation of ICT services users’ needs perspective. We organized a survey and a workshop to investigate the SLAs of these services. The target group was teacher trainers from Ethiopia. In this paper, we analyze and present results. The intention has been defining general requirements for four core services. Before the study itself we provide the overview to the key points to service level management and SLAs. The study shows that at ICT services for ETU and satellite campuses special attention needs to give to any kind of networks problems. Solving these problems enable both e-learning and blended learning in the best ways for Ethiopian needs. In these ways the desired support by using email and remote assistance tools is also easier.

In the past few years, educators started using synchronous video conferencing software like Google Meet, Microsoft Teams or Zoom, among others, in addition to traditional teaching methodologies. Therefore, this contribution examines the students’ perceptions about the functionality and interactivity features of these technologies, as well as the facilitating conditions of a higher education institution (HEI) in a Southern European context. A survey questionnaire integrated valid measures that were drawn from the relevant literature on technology adoption. The analysis was carried out through SmartPLS to shed light on the causal paths affecting the students’ intentions to continue using synchronous technologies in higher education. The results suggest that the students feel that the functionality of the conferencing software in terms of their ease-to-use and efficient designs, as well as their HEI's facilitating conditions, including the technical support they are given, and their accessibility to adequate resources, are affecting their intentions to continue using these interactive technologies, to achieve their learning outcomes.

The process of digital transformation is extremely complicated, particularly at vocational high schools, and scholars should be able to comprehend it. We use the seven steps of the soft systems methodology to better understand the process of digital transformation, especially in Indonesian vocational high schools. An exploratory investigation was the methodology employed. To collect data, in-depth interviews were conducted. The principal and teachers from the vocational schools in Indonesia were the major interviewers. The results revealed the actors engaged and the challenges they faced in converting the physical situation into a digital one. The article put up a soft system-based digital transformation concept for vocational high schools. Broader research utilizing this methodology is urgently needed to comprehend the model as the research was constrained by the small research item used.

The higher education plays an important role in the development of a country. Research on this issue may serve as a reference for countries to build a healthy and sustainable higher education system. We reviewed the literature and created a dataset Higher Education Evaluation Dataset (HEED) for this problem based on the collected data and interpolation algorithms. Based on the Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) and the Entropy Weighting Method (EWM), we established the weights of the dimension and indicator layers, and then used the TOPSIS method to calculate the health score of the national higher education system, obtaining a model capable of assessing the health of higher education in any country. In addition, the combination of the subjectivity provided by the AHP and the objectivity of the EWM and TOPSIS methods results in better performance of the model evaluation. To verify the validity of the model, we clustered 20 countries using hierarchical clustering algorithm. We found that the clustering results are generally consistent with the ratings obtained from the model, verifying that the model is applicable to the higher education evaluation system. Finally, the paper summarizes the model, which combines subjective indicators with quantitative and objective data and is the first attempt to use such a model for higher education evaluation.
