Laboratory Evaluation of the Molluscicidal Activity of Calcium Hypochlorite on Intermediate Hosts of Paragonimiasis 次氯酸钙对吸虫病中间寄主灭螺活性的实验室评价

A laboratory investigation was conducted to assess the molluscicidal effect of calcium hypochlorite on two species of Potadoma snails: Potadoma moerchi and Potadoma freethi. 90 snails per species were collected from a stream in Ipogun village, Ondo State, Nigeria. Five (5) concentrations of calcium hypochlorite (45mg/l, 65mg/l, 85mg/l, 105mg/l, and 125mg/l) were prepared for the experiment using well water. The snails were then exposed to the different concentrations of the calcium hypochlorite solution in glassware for 48 hours with 3 replicates per treatment in a completely randomized design to determine the LC50 and LC90. A control treatment was also set up for the experiment using well water. The results showed that Calcium hypochlorite had a remarkable molluscicidal activity on the snails, with a 93.33% percentage mortality rate recorded in Potadoma moerchi at 48 hours and 100% recorded from 32 hours for Potadoma freethi snails in the two highest concentrations. After the 48-hour assay, the mean LC50 and LC90 for P. moerchi were 91.42mg/l and 126.27mg/l, while the mean LC50 and LC90 for P. freethi were 51.98mg/l and 94.33mg/l. Calcium hypochlorite demonstrated effective molluscicidal activity against both snails and may be useful in controlling intermediate hosts of paragonimiasis, and its deployment in slow-flowing or stagnant water bodies

Investigating the Effects of Integration on the Development of Mathematical Knowledge for Teaching: A Case of Pre-Service Teachers in the Colleges of Education in Ghana amidst Curriculum Changes 整合对数学教学知识发展的影响研究——以课程改革中的加纳教育学院职前教师为例

The study examined the effects of integration on the development of Mathematical Knowledge for Teaching (MKT) among pre-service teachers while enrolled in a math program at the colleges of education in Ghana in the face of the new curriculum. In all, two hundred and forty-seven (247) pre-service teachers (PSTs) were sampled for the study. The experimental group comprised one hundred and thirty (130) PSTs who were taught both Mathematics content and method courses in an integrated manner, while the control group, comprised of one hundred and seventeen (117) PSTs, was taught Mathematics content and method courses separately. The non-equivalent static-group comparison design was used for the study. Both groups of PSTs were post-tested after they had received instruction in mathematics courses up to the point where they were ready to go for their macro teaching (Off Campus Teaching Practice) to compare their achievements in terms of their mathematical knowledge for teaching. Analysis of data using the independent sample t-test revealed that the control group had a mean score lower than the experimental group, and the standard deviation showed that the scores of the control group were far from their mean score. That is, the scores of the control group were more heterogeneous than that of the experimental group. The experimental group scored higher than the control group on the post-test, and their scores were more homogeneous than the control group. At a significant level of 0.05, there was a statistically significant difference between the means of the two groups on the post-test. With a mean difference of 5.042, the experimental group performed better than the control group on the post-test. Hence, the students in the experimental group turned out to achieve better on MKT components than the students in the control group. It was recommended, among others, that the use of the integrated approach in the teaching and learning of Mathematics should be encouraged, monitored, and supported throughout the Colleges of Education in Ghana.

Deconstruction of School Assessment Accommodations and Learning Attainments for Learners with Disabilities, Nairobi County Primary Schools, Kenya 解构残疾学生的学校评估住宿和学习成就,内罗毕县小学,肯尼亚

This study sought to establish the school assessment accommodations for learners with disabilities and the learning outcomes of the school assessments for learners with disabilities. A concurrent mixed-methods research design was employed to investigate the school assessment accommodations and learning outcomes experienced by learners with disabilities in public primary schools in Nairobi County, Kenya. A combination of probability and non-probability sampling techniques was employed to select 50 public primary schools with inclusive education programs and Special Needs Education teachers. Data were collected through questionnaires, institutional questionnaires, and interview guides that were evaluated for validity and reliability. Quantitative data were analyzed through Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS) version 24, while qualitative data were interpreted with a thematic approach and verbatim reporting. Findings from this study indicate that the provision of school assessments for learners with disabilities yields both positive and negative outcomes. The research recommends that literacy examinations be adapted and accommodations are made for learners with disabilities specific to their individual needs. These accommodations should include extra allotted time, materials printed in a larger font, use of sign language, assistance from authorized scribes, utilization of assistive devices, granting of alternative assessment presentations, and the option of alternative assessments.

Teachers' Perceptions on Inclusive Education and the Effectiveness of School Assessment for Learners with Disabilities in Public Primary Schools within Nairobi County, Kenya 肯尼亚内罗毕县公立小学教师对全纳教育的看法和对残疾学生的学校评估的有效性

This study explored the special needs of teachers' understanding of inclusive education, analyzed the types of assessments administered to students with disabilities, and evaluated the efficacy of school assessments for learners with disabilities in public primary schools in Nairobi County, Kenya. The study was guided by Vygotsky's social-cultural cognitive theory. A mixed-method concurrent triangulation design was applied, and all 52 public primary schools, headteachers, Special Needs Education teachers, and education officials were included in the study. Data were collected through questionnaires, institutional questionnaires, and interview guides and analyzed using SPSS and thematic analysis. The findings revealed evidence of teachers' knowledge of inclusive education and the use of different types of assessment methods. The findings also revealed that the assessments were both effective and ineffective. The study recommends the provision of proper assessment tools and training of teachers on assessment methods for learners with disabilities and a review of the existing assessment practices.

A Secured Cloud-Based Electronic Document Management System 安全的基于云的电子文档管理系统

Documents stored and managed on paper are characterized by lots of inefficiencies and work-related issues such as high time consumption, errors, and redundancy during information collection, storage, and retrieval. Producing documents using computer-supported methods has become common practice in the institution but the management of documents is still done with manual methods. It is also worth noting that the increased volume of document production and distribution through e-mail systems and workstation-based file managers has aggravated problems in document security, control, tracking, and retrieval. In this work, a secured cloud-based electronic document management system was designed (SECEDOMAS). The system consists of three processes, namely: The document entry process, Electronic document management system (EDMS), and Document retrieval and sharing process The system was implemented using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Laravel (PHP framework), and MySQL. An Advanced Encryption Standard (AES) algorithm was used to encrypt the documents stored and shared to prevent the documents from unauthorized users. The system was tested using the document of exams and records unit of Olusegun Agagu University of Science and Technology, Okitipupa. The performance shows that it is effective in storing, retrieving, and sharing processes. SECEDOMAS is well-structured, more efficient, secure, and durable.

Influence of Smallholder Farmers' Socio-economic Characteristics on and Perceived Benefits of Organic Agriculture Farming 小农社会经济特征对有机农业经营收益感知的影响

The decision to adopt an agricultural technology is categorized into characteristics specific to farmers and their households and socio-economic factors. The difference in factors influencing the smallholder farmers' adoption of Organic Farming (OF) practices varies across the world. Thus, this paper investigates the influence of smallholder farmers' socio-economic characteristics on the adoption of OF in Kisii Central, Kisii County. The study adopted mixed-method research that involved a household survey and key informants. The results indicate that the major socio-economic characteristics influencing smallholder farmers' adoption of organic farming were farm size (79%), income (73%), family size (67%), and age (66%). In addition, there is a positive correlation between education and the use of crop residues (r=0.113), animal manure (r=0.114), and cover crop (r=0.121). The study recommends that promoters of OF consider specific socio-economic characteristics of the farmers in adopting OF.

Recovery of State Losses in Corruption Cases in Indonesia, through the Asset Recovery Model and Mutual Legal Assistance 通过资产追回模式和司法互助追回印尼腐败案件中的国家损失

Two issues will be examined in this study: whether the optimization of recovering state losses in corruption cases can be carried out with the mutual legal assistance model and whether the obstacles to optimizing the recovery of state losses in corruption cases with the mutual legal assistance model. The study aims to obtain complete information about optimizing the recovery of state losses in cases of corruption which can be carried out using the mutual legal assistance model, and obstacles to optimizing the recovery of state losses in corruption cases using the mutual legal assistance model. The study shows that efforts to recover state losses in corruption cases can be carried out in various ways, one of which is the mutual legal assistance (MLA) model. MLA plays an essential role in recovering assets obtained from corruption crimes, especially assets taken abroad by corruption perpetrators. MLA can run optimally if there is a strong synergy between stakeholders. Efforts to return 'stolen' state assets (stolen asset recovery) through criminal acts of corruption tend not to be easy to do. Corruption perpetrators have extraordinary access and are difficult to reach in hiding or money laundering the proceeds of their corruption crimes. An international institution, the Basel Institute on Governance, the International Center for Asset Recovery stated that: 'asset recovery is a difficult task and is fraught with the complications of the banks involved, the navigation of a costly international legal labyrinth and the fact that those implicated in public looting are usually those with the most power and influence'.

The study sought to empirically determine the prospects of TQM implementation in the design and production of slit and kaba in small to medium garment production enterprises in Ghana. The quantitative research design was adopted y. A total of 138 participants were purposively sampled from the population of small and medium-scale fashion enterprises in the Accra metropolis. A questionnaire was used as the main data collection instrument. The study discovered that TQM is fundamental to achieving high-quality products and customer satisfaction and retention. TQM results in an increase in sales, effective customer service coupled with cost reduction, and improved production practices, all will inure to the benefit and prospects of the production houses. It was, therefore, recommended that government should introduce a policy to include content on TQM as part of the curriculum of Higher Fashion Education in Ghana.

An Adaptive Web-Based Inventory Control System for Universities 大学的自适应基于网络的库存控制系统

Managing inventories is one of the major challenges that organizations such as tertiary institutions are facing. Most of the stocks kept in organizations are characterized by excessive inventory on hand, raw materials losing their quality, improper sourcing methods, poor personnel management skills, etc. There also exists a lack of accurate and timely information. In order to arrest these deficiencies, an adaptive web-based inventory control system was developed. The current inventory in the storage unit of Olusegun Agagu University of Science and Technology (OAUSTECH), Okitipupa was captured. Collection of data from the Procurement and Store Unit was done through interviews, observation of record books, and some printable data. The system was implemented using PHP, HTML files, BOOTSTRAP, and MySQL. The outcomes are the generation of timely alert messages and reports to management when the inventory level reaches an out-of-stock threshold, computation of various inventory analyses such as price levels, lead-time analysis, replenishment period demand analysis, vendors' delivery performance, and generation of low-cost stock recommender system.
