Introduction: Cerebral palsy (CP) is a group of disorders affecting the development of movement and posture causing activity limitation due to non-progressive disturbances that occur in the developing fetal or infant brain. It develops due to damage to CNS and this damage can take place before, during or immediately after the birth of the child. CP involves a group of motor & sensory impairments as well as postural dysfunctions caused by a non-progressive lesion in the immature brain. Method: Randomized control trial was conducted on 35 hemiplegic CP individuals which were divided into two groups as Group A: Intervention group and Group B: Control group. Pre intervention Quality of Upper Extremity Skills Test (QUEST) was taken. Individuals in group A were given myofascial release therapy (MFR) along with action observation therapy (AOT). Individuals in group B were given conventional therapy. Post intervention QUEST result was taken. Result: Paired t test was performed. The test revealed statistically significant difference among both the groups between pre and post scores. The mean value of post treatment in QUEST scale in group A is more than group B indicating more improvement in hand function in group A than group B. The difference between pre and post values of QUEST scale were noted and they were compared between two groups with the help of unpaired t test. The test revealed statistically significant difference in group A than group B. Conclusion: It is concluded that MFR along with AOT is more effective to obtain the improvement in hand function among children with hemiplegic spastic CP. Helicobacter pylori (H. pylori)is a gram negative bacterium colonizing stomach, liver and intestine, is found to cause variety of gastrointestinal impairments. As per latest studies, H.pylori is increasingly being associated with extragastric manifestations like neurological, hematological, cardiovascular, metabolic, hepatobiliary and autoimmune also. Recent studies have found 90 percent ulcers in duodenum and 80 percent ulcers in stomach associated to H.pylori infection. This review aims to focus upon and summarize extragastric manifestations of H.pylori infection. Such manifestations caused by it are mainly related to alterations in Gut-brain axis and altered gut microbiome too. Thus, potential role of H.pylori in disorders like iron-deficiency anemia, Vitamin B-12 deficiency anemia, stroke, cardiovascular diseases, diabetes mellitus, metabolic syndrome, Alzheimer’s disease, anxiety, depression and other autoimmune skin and ophthalmic disorders need to be explored for better understanding and management. The microbiome gut-brain axis needs to be studied further in association with helicobacter pylori infection. This study aimed to assess the utilization and sufficiency of information, education and communication (IEC) materials related to HIV/AIDS among adults aged 18 to 49 years in Kerala. The study adopted mixed-method approach and was conducted through cross-sectional survey using multistage cluster sampling method (n=750) and in-depth interviews through purposive sampling method (n=35). Majority of the adults (72.9 percent) had not seen any IEC materials related to HIV/AIDS during the last six months. Just over half of the adults reported that the IEC materials they found were very useful (58%) and rest were not (42%). Lack of persuasiveness, diversified focus, poor clarity of messages, lack of precision and aesthetic appeal were the main reasons cited by the participants for the non-usefulness. Television was the most preferred source of information (90.7 percent). Overall knowledge on HIV/AIDS among adults in Kerala was found to be less than 50% (CI: 40±5.87%). The study found a statistically significant association between knowledge of HIV/AIDS and area of residence (p<0.05). The qualitative findings could be summarized into two themes: Enabling factors in the development and utilization of IEC materials and barriers in the utilization of IEC materials. The availability and accessibility of need-based and context-specific mutually reinforcing IEC messages should therefore be ensured by effective interdepartmental collaboration. Eosinophilic fasciitis is a rare variant of scleroderma with an unknown etiology, predominantly affecting middle age group. Clinically it presents with local oedema, erythema, woody induration with an “orange peel” appearance, progressing rapidly to fibrosis associated with hematological changes mainly eosinophilia. A deep fascial biopsy and imaging studies aid the diagnosis. Classical skin findings help in early diagnosis thereby preserving the mobility and preventing the joint contractures. This report presents a case of 59-year-old male with features suggestive of eosinophilic fasciitis and its importance in diagnosis. Key words: Groove sign, peau d’ orange appearance, dermascopy, Eosinophilic fasciitis, Shulman syndrome.

BACKGROUND: Supermarket grocery workers are at high risk of work-related musculoskeletal disorders (WRMSDs) due to demanding postures and repetitive tasks. This study investigated the prevalence of WRMSDs, their association with fatigue, and individual factors affecting these workers in Surat, India. METHODOLOGY: A cross-sectional study involving 190 grocery workers employed a convenience sampling method. The Nordic Musculoskeletal Questionnaire (NMQ) assessed WRMSDs and the Fatigue Severity Scale (FSS) evaluated fatigue. RESULTS: Results revealed a high prevalence of WRMSDs, with 72.7% of workers reporting experiencing them at least once. The lower back and ankle were the most commonly affected body parts (36.4% each), followed by the upper back (35.5%), neck (31.8%), and knee (28.2%). Gender distribution among those with WRMSDs was nearly equal (51.8% female, 48.2% male). DISCUSSION: It was found that difficulty with work and fatigue were associated with WRMSDs. However, factors like gender, body mass index (BMI), work experience, work duration, rest periods, rest duration, and worker type (full-time/part-time) did not show a statistically significant association. CONCLUSION: This study highlights the concerning prevalence of WRMSDs among supermarket grocery workers in India. The significant association between WRMSDs and work difficulty/fatigue suggests a need for interventions. Future research should explore ergonomic improvements, work organization strategies, and fatigue management programs to reduce WRMSDs and improve worker well-being in this industry.
