Assessment of sense of presence for 3D IP phone service 三维IP电话服务的存在感评估

This paper assesses the sense of presence for the 3D audio VoIP phone service with the binaural recording which is proposed by the authors by experiment. In the experiment, the authors use sounds recorded with actual heads, and evaluate the sense of presence and the sound source localization. The experimental results show the subjects can perceive high sense of presence by using our service. Moreover, they also indicate that the difference of actual heads for recording affect both the sense of presence and sound source localization.

An enhanced passivation layer for secure consumer integrated circuit devices 用于安全消费集成电路器件的增强钝化层

Consumer electronics devices have a common point called integrated circuit (IC). Among the most advanced integrated circuits are the microprocessors which control everything from computers and cellular phones to the USB. In this paper, a novel manufacturing technique to enhance the passivation layer which protects the ICs is presented where a stronger passivation layer is made from Ni-TiO2 composite coating and Tetraethyl orthosilicate compound (TEOS/O2). The Ni-TiO2 will provide a high wear resistance and improve the hardness while the Tetraethyl orthosilicate will protect the microprocessor against ultraviolet attack on the ICs passivation layer.

An immersive projection display with dynamic reflectance control using photochromism 一个沉浸式投影显示与动态反射控制使用光变色

We propose an immersive projection display with dynamic reflectance control using photochromism. The reflectance control is effective for inter-reflection compensation. Software-based inter-reflection compensation techniques, which are conventional techniques, suffer from the projector's limited dynamic range in reproducing the target appearance on immersive projection screens. To solve this problem, we paint photochromic materials on the screen surface and dynamically control the surface reflectance by illuminating ultraviolet (UV) light from 2D arrays of UV LEDs. Through a simulation experiment, we show that the projected result is closer to the target appearance by the proposed method than by conventional techniques.

Explaining prices by linking data: A pilot study on spatial regression analysis of apartment rents 链接数据解释价格:公寓租金空间回归分析的试点研究

This paper reports a pilot study where we link different types of data for explaining prices. In this study, we link the apartment rent data with the publicly accessible location data of landmarks like supermarkets, hospitals, etc. We apply the regression analysis to find the most important factor determining the apartment rents. We claim that the results of this type of spatial data mining can enhance the user experience in the apartment search system, because we can indicate a rationale behind pricing as additional information to users and thus can make them more confident in their choices.

The indoor localization method based on the integration of RSSI and inertial sensor 基于RSSI和惯性传感器集成的室内定位方法

The research of localization has become a more and more important topic with the popularity of ubiquitous mobile computing. In indoor environment, since the global positioning system (GPS) is disabled, many miniaturized wireless and sensing technologies have shown giant potential in positioning applications such as Inertial Navigation. In this context, this paper present a methodology to locate and track pedestrians accurately in indoor scenarios, the proposed method employs the extended Kalman filter (EKF) to integration Received Signal Strength Indication (RSSI) measurements with the Inertial Navigation technology. Aiming at the cumulative errors existed in Pedestrian Dead Reckoning (PDR) algorithm, this method uses RSSI information as measurement vector of EKF to correct the cumulative errors. Experimental results show that the proposed fusion method can present more reliable positioning estimations.

Photovoltaic inverter employing auxiliary circuit to synthesize multilevel output voltage 采用辅助电路合成多电平输出电压的光伏逆变器

It presents a circuit configuration, which can synthesize a multilevel output voltage for the use of stand-alone photovoltaic inverter. The proposed system consists of a buck-boost converter, an auxiliary circuit, and an H-bridge inverter. The simple auxiliary circuit, which generates a multilevel output voltage, configures a switch, three diodes, and two batteries. Thanks to the multilevel output voltage, it can reduce dv/dt stress, switching loss, and output filter size. After theoretical analysis, computer-aided simulation and experimental results carries out to verify the validity of the proposed approach.

Performance evaluation of hardware-oriented seam carving algorithm 面向硬件的缝雕刻算法性能评价

Seam carving is one of content-aware image resizing algorithms. This algorithm can be used for various applications because of its simplicity. However, the computational complexity becomes the bottleneck of the implementation of the algorithm. In this paper, we present a hardware-oriented seam carving algorithm. The performance of the algorithm is evaluated on an FPGA board, and it turns out that the algorithm can achieve two thousands of performance as much as that for the original one.

Experimental demonstration of pulse amplitude modulated visible light communications 脉冲调幅可见光通信的实验演示

We experimentally demonstrate a visible light communication (VLC) system using pulse amplitude modulation (PAM). A commercially available phosphorised white LED is used as the optical transmitter and a Si photodiode (PD) is used as the optical receiver. The experiment is mainly implemented in an indoor environment which is influenced by the sunlight and fluorescent lamp. In variant conditions, the experimental results using 4-PAM and 2-PAM (i.e. on-off-keying (OOK)) and the related analysis are reported.

KAZEKAMO: An infection screening system remote monitoring of multiple vital-signs for prevention of pandemic diseases KAZEKAMO:用于预防大流行疾病的多种生命体征远程监测的感染筛查系统

The outbreak of infectious diseases such as swine flu (H1N1) and avian flu (H5N1) are threatening global health. Especially, developing countries in the South-East Asia region have been at serious risk. Rapid and reliable screening methods are urgently needed for preventing the spread of infection at mass gathering places such as, airport quarantine facilities and hospital outpatient units. In order to meet this need, we developed a multiple vital-signs based infection screening system (KAZEKAMO) that can perform medical inspections within 15 seconds. The system monitors not only body temperature but also heart and respiration rates. By using these three vital-signs, the detection accuracy of the system improved significantly.

A study on application-aware power-saving control method for sensor stations in home gateway 基于应用感知的家庭网关传感器站节能控制方法研究

In recent years, home ICT services have been actively proposed. To realize the services, power consumption of sensor station increases when a sensor station often wakes up to report sensor data. In this paper, we proposed an application-aware power-saving control method for sensor stations and confirmed an effect of a proposed method which is constructed as OSGi bundle in HGW. By using the proposed method, it is possible to extend a reporting period of sensor station to a requesting period of service providing server. And a timing difference between reception of sensor data and reception of request from the server in HGW can be reduced to 49 msec in the evaluation.
近年来,家庭ICT服务被积极提出。为了实现这些业务,传感器站经常被唤醒以报告传感器数据,从而增加了传感器站的功耗。本文提出了一种基于应用感知的传感器站节能控制方法,并验证了该方法在HGW中构建为OSGi束的效果。通过使用所提出的方法,可以将传感器站的报告周期延长到提供服务的服务器的请求周期。在评估中,HGW中接收传感器数据与接收服务器请求之间的时间差可以减少到49毫秒。
