Vehicular information acquisition scheme using subdivided reflector code for infrared radar 车载信息采集方案采用细分反射器编码的红外雷达

We have proposed a simple vehicular information acquisition scheme using infrared radar and reflector code in order to recognize vehicle information with low cost. However, since the size of the reflector code is so large and the number of code patterns is not so large, it is necessary to reduce the size and increase the patterns in order to be attached with vehicles. So we propose a new scheme using subdivided reflector code.

Auditory golf coaching system using perceptive sportswear based on hetero-core optics 基于异核光学的感知运动服听觉高尔夫训练系统

A sports motion support system for golf swing has been described by using a perceptive sportswear and a wireless mobile device with Android application, in which a trainee is given real-time auditory feedback to be informed the performance of the swing. The wireless mobile device receives motion data from the perceptive sportswear designed in form of shirts and shoes in which hetero-core optical fibers are fastened or embedded for monitoring the body motion without restraint. Real-time feedback experiment has been demonstrated based on the system, in which the trainee performing golf swings could efficiently improve his swing motion.

Multi-eyed network camera for convenient 3D video capturing 多眼网络摄像机,方便3D视频捕捉

To capture and record a multi-view video is inconvenient due to needing mechanism for synchronization between cameras and computational cost for video coding. This paper presents a multi-eyed network camera which has five fixed HD camera modules and a gigabit Ethernet port. Only one LSI controls the camera modules and encodes all captured videos. To reduce computational complexity and keep synchronization, compressing is based on distributed video coding, and multiplexing is an extension format of the H. 264/MVC NAL structure. Implementation results show that all functions are integrated in the LSI and that the synchronization is kept after transmitting.

FFR-based resource allocation scheme for Device-to-Device communication 基于ffr的设备间通信资源分配方案

Device-to-Device communication allows two cellular devices to communicate with each other without a base station. By relieving the base station from relaying data to and from different devices, D2D communication aims at increasing the system capacity. In a D2D enabled network, one of the critical issues is to effectively allocate frequency resource. In this paper, a resource allocation scheme has been proposed that increases the throughput of all devices by using Fractional Frequency Reuse.

Comparison of two classification methods for Musical Instrument identification 两种乐器鉴定分类方法的比较

In this paper, we compared the Linear Discriminant Analysis (LDA) with Random Forest (RF) for musical instrument identification from clips with a mixture of instruments. As the first step, monotone samples from the Musical Instrument Samples (Univ. Iowa) and RWC Music Database were used to identify the individual instruments. For the Iowa monotones, an overall instrument recognition rate of 24.8% and 82.1% was obtained using LDA and RF, respectively. However, the rate degrades to 54.9% on the RWC monotones even with RF, most likely due to insufficient number of features to cover the increase in variability of this large database.

Understanding implications of trim, discard, and background command for eMMC storage device 了解eMMC存储设备的修剪、丢弃和后台命令的含义

Recently, eMMC is widely being used in mobile devices because of its characteristics such as low cost, small size, and low power consumption. In this paper, we analyze features of eMMC based on commands such as Trim, Discard, and Background to investigate how do commands affect the random write performance and lifetime of the NAND flash memory. Also, we propose a method that uses the Background command to improve the random write performance of eMMC. Our experimental results clearly show that our method outperforms the normal power-off method, on average, by 173% in terms of the random write performance.

A voice picking system using localized navigation speech and Head Tracking 使用定位导航语音和头部跟踪的语音拾取系统

We propose a voice picking system that uses localized guide speech oriented towards the target object, and Head Tracking (HT), which maintains the localized speech position according to the user's head movement. We verified the usability improvements achieved by the proposed system. The task completion time was reduced by about 1.8 seconds (11.2%) compared to conventional diotic conditions. The post test questionnaire showed that the HT condition is preferred over conventional diotic systems by 1.92 on a 7-point scale. Thus, with the introduction of sound localization in voice picking systems, both the user satisfaction and task efficiency can be improved.

Secure transmission through multihop relaying in wireless body area networks 无线体域网络中通过多跳中继的安全传输

This paper analyzes the application of multihop relaying to improve the physical layer security of a wireless body area network (WBAN). Based on the channel characteristics of WBAN, the secrecy outage performance for single-hop and multihop transmission is studied. Results illustrate that multihop relaying performs much better than the single-hop due to the severe path loss caused by the human body.

Privacy-conscious detection of roll-over based on thermography measurement 基于热成像测量的翻车隐私检测

Because of the accident of falling out of the bed of inpatients / recipients of care occurs constantly in nursing /care facilities, the technique of roll-over detection / posture state estimation are required. In this paper, we developed the detection technique of roll-over with the thermographic watching system with the respect of a person's privacy The detection of roll-over is the method which finds out the errant characteristic value of the thermography. By using the Higher-order Local Auto-Correlation (HLAC) as the characteristic value, several of rollover and awaking was detected.

OCR based interaction for coded objects 基于OCR的编码对象交互

As a trend, our everyday goods are changing to program-controlled ones from pure mechanical or electrical ones. The concept of `coded object' was proposed for such a new generation product by Kitchin and Dooge. We propose a novel interaction method using OCR for coded objects, which is aimed at simplifying the operations on the configuration of coded objects and making the recording, sharing, and distribution of the configurations universal. We constructed a prototype for proof-of-concept using a digital SLR (single lens reflex camera). In this prototype, we utilize open-source OCR engine “tesseract” trained by handwritten character images and adding a preprocessing of projective transforms in order to cope with free angle capture by the camera. This prototype can be configured by shooting handwritten texts.
