The article analyzes the communion between the Russian Church and the Church of Greece during the important historical period of Patriarch Alexy II in 1991-2008 based on the archive of the Holy Synod of the Church of Greece. The archive of the Holy Synod of the Church of Greece, unknown to most researchers, is a valuable source of church history of the Modern Greek state and contains unique information that is difficult to find in other archives, which have been lost or destroyed. The period considered is of paramount importance both due to the revival of Christianity in Russia, and because of the new era in relations between the Russian Church and local Orthodox churches, and specifically the Church of Greece as discussed in the article, after the "dark" period. After 1991, the Russian Church faced a challenging task of forming and reforming its internal part and activities in all structures and layers of society. The Church of Greece, in turn, as a sister Church, when needed, without hesitation, provided spiritual and material support in this difficult mission of the Russian Church. The written correspondence of the Russian Church and Church of Greece is analyzed in order to form a picture of the life and activity of the Russian Church and the development of relations between the two churches during this period. The article reports on the glorious past of the Russian Church, on the long-lasting relationship of love, solidarity, and spiritual interpenetration with the Church of Greece, on their favorable spiritual prospects and activities aimed at revival. In conclusion, the strength of the bonds of the two churches, as well as their centuries-old coexistence are confirmed.

The article provides a historical background of the term “vaccine diplomacy”, discusses the reasons for its relevance to the People's Republic of China in connection with the COVID-19 pandemic. The authors aimed to analyze the directions of China's “vaccine diplomacy”, their justification and consideration of the course of cooperation in the field of vaccination between China and the countries of Africa, Latin America and Southeast Asia. A special place in the article is given to the role of the United States and the US-Chinese contradictions in the field of vaccine trade. During the studying, authors have made the following conclusions: China uses “vaccine diplomacy” not only for altruistic purposes, but also seeks to set up partners loyal to its economic and political interests. In some cases, such a policy is effective. However, in some states there is a certain level of sinophobia and negative perception of China as the “culprit” of the appearance of COVID-19. The US also play an important role as a global exporter of vaccines and actively competes with China, stating that it does not exercise political and economic pressure on buyers.

One of the most important tasks of a state in defending its sovereignty is to counteract hostile propaganda aimed at imposing a different way of life designed to promote the decay of a traditional society and the loss of its identity. Counteraction to the destruction of state foundations is the protection of historical truth and combat against all kinds of falsifications of the history of the past, present and future of a country. Bringing the goals of the West home to the population of our country, analyzing the methods and means of propaganda brought against us, refuting the facts of falsification and outright attempts at manipulation are an important area of activity of Russian social scientists, and this article is intended to make a certain contribution to solving this problem.

The article, based on documents from Russian and American archives, explores the role of Orthodoxy in the value system of Russian diplomats, their participation in church life and relationships with the clergy. The article reveals the role of Orthodoxy and the Church in the daily life of diplomats of the Russian Empire who worked in the United States in 1867–1917, when the interaction of Russian diplomacy and the Aleutian-Alaska (North American) Diocese of the Russian Orthodox Church reached its heyday. It is shown that the entire daily life of diplomats in America was built according to the church calendar with its series of religious holidays, fasts and other church events. It is concluded that, despite the divergence of corporate cultures of these institutions of spiritual and secular power of the Russian Empire, as well as the great differences in the lifestyle of diplomats and clergy, they were united by a common religious and state identity and a common mission – the promotion of Russian influence in the United States. In the conditions of being in an alien environment, Orthodoxy for diplomats became the most important part of Russian self-identification. At the same time, much depended on the individual characteristics of the representatives of the diplomatic corps: social origin, the degree of their religiosity and other features of the worldview. Concrete examples reveal the main types of participation of diplomats in the life of the diocese – from formal to zealously pious. The level of interpersonal communication between representatives of the clergy and the Russian diplomatic colony in the United States is also considered.
