The purpose of the article is to study the history of the cooperation between twinned regions – the Irkutsk region and the Gyeongsangbuk-do province, which has lasted for 25 years. The data on the activities and projects organized during this period has been provided. Regional cooperation plays an important role in international relations. One of its purposes is to expand and strengthen interaction between two countries. The article examines the experience of cooperation between twinned regions – the Irkutsk region and the Gyeongsangbuk-do province – and studies the role of interregional interaction in relations between the Russian Federation and the Republic of Korea. The regions cooperated actively in 2016–2018 and later the cooperation was suspended due to the spread of COVID 19. Most of bilateral contacts have been in cultural and educational sphere. At the same time, there is a predominance of the events organized by the Korean side, which is along the lines of the “soft power” strategy of the Republic of Korea. And although the Irkutsk region and the Republic of Korea cooperate in economy, tourism, education and other fields, the role of the Gyeongsangbuk-do province is very insignificant in this process. Despite the fact that at each privat meeting the heads of the regions declare their intention to implement joint projects in the economic and medical sector no significant results have been achieved in this direction so far. Thus, the current relations between the regions do not play a significant role in the development of relations between the Russian Federation and the Republic of Korea and are mainly aimed at promoting the culture of their own country in the territory of the partner region.

The relevance of the exploration is related to the study of a single vector of the social orientation of Christianity and Islam. On the example of the Holy Scriptures of the Bible and the Quran, the Catechism, the main collections of traditions from Muhammad, collected by al-Bukhari, Muslim, Abu Daud and others, the social concept of the Russian Orthodox Church, the social doctrine of Muslims, as well as historical practice, the closeness of both religions in relation to a person and society. This is also manifested in the commandments of Christianity, with the exception of the doctrinal aspect, since the concept of God in Christianity and Islam is different from each other and not identical. Identity is observed in those qualities, some of which a true believer should have: love for the transmitter of revelation, love for neighbor, love for enemies, humility, patience, righteousness, purity of heart, mercy, repentance, trust in the Lord, preservation of the world, etc. There is a similarity in those qualities that a believer must eradicate in himself: breaking an oath, lying, anger, arrogance, a passion for accumulation, etc. The identity of traditional values in Christianity and Islam is considered: the institution of traditional marriage, the equality of men and women, the dignity of motherhood, the attitude to children, the prohibition of abortion and homosexuality, the attitude to slavery, which was at the time of the emergence of Islam and the existence of Christianity, is separately mentioned. The conclusions emphasize that feelings of love and compassion, understanding of man as the crown of creation, spiritual and moral development and gaining transcendental experience are common to Christianity and Islam. This exploration will allow us to better study the Russian model of interfaith relations in building a constructive dialogue in the socio-cultural sphere and, if necessary, use it in countering the challenges of our time. It should be taken into account that the Abrahamic religions are characterized by the concept of religious exclusivity, which practically excludes tolerance in matters of dogma and worship, as well as recognition of other religions as equal to them, while this allows you to save the religions themselves from distortion.

In this research paper was implemented a search for general philosophical and scientific principles and possibilities of the study of religious architecture in the optics of the psychology of religion. For this purpose were involved the achievements of M.R. Savchenko in the field of architectural ontology and functional methodology. It was shown that the study of architecture from the position of psychology of religion should pursue psychological explanation of the need for religious architecture for the preservation (survival, spread, development) of ritual and religion. This type of explanation is possible on the basis of a functional methodology that allows the study of architectural processes that cannot be reduced to the cultural processes of understanding, interpretation of communication. It was shown that the study of architecture from the point of view of the psychology of religion is possible in the light of the theories of contemporary evolutionary psychology, Jungian psychoanalysis, as well as the psychology of visual perception. If we use the theories from these strands of psychology, we can argue that certain processes and properties of religious architecture do not belong to cultural processes or properties of cultural institutions, but nevertheless they affect culture, contribute to the preservation of ritual and provides the psychotherapeutic, compensatory and adaptive functions of religion.

Based on the comparative and historical method, hermeneutics, anthropology and ethnography, and the principle of objectivity, the analysis of such social group of Ancient Russia as Magi was carried out. Historiography and source study of this issue allowed the author to determine the contribution of his predecessors who were interested in this issue and to identify main contradictions on the Magi phenomenon. The article provides a rationale for historical and ideological necessity of analyzing ideas about man and the world as a system that functioned in the ancient Russian state. The period before the Christianization of Rus’ is understudied, and, at the same time, paganism (including the institute of priesthood, to which many think Magi belong) was the official and predominant religion among the Eastern Slavs until the Christianization of Rus’ in 988. The author is of the view that there should be continuity of all periods of the national history of Rus’-Russia, and it is necessary to reflect both bright and heroic events, and those kept secret for ideological reasons.
