Modern Christian culture was built on a double foundation (Hebraism and Hellenism), and it was the refraction of Greek culture in the spirit of certain religious and philosophical ideas that made it possible. The final development of Greek culture did not proceed from religion to rationalism. It was aimed at an even more intense search for the Almighty God. The focus of the Hellenic culture was wisdom, and the Christian faith was the exaltation of God according to the Holy Scriptures. Greek civilization had a significant impact on Christian thought and determined the final form of the Christian religious tradition. Our purpose in writing this article is not only to prove the influence of Hellenism on the formation of the views of the first Christian thinkers, but also to demonstrate how apostolic orthodoxy prevailed over Platonism and Hellenistic thought in general. Thus, this article is devoted to the study of the Hellenization of Christianity, which occurred in the period up to the 3rd century AD. e. It examines the influence of the early Greek religion on Christianity, the manifestations of the Hellenization of Christianity in the apostolic age, as well as the teachings of the philosophers of the Alexandrian theological school and its important representatives – Clement and Origen. Thanks to the analysis, the author concludes that Christianity in its current state was formed, among other things, under the influence of Greek culture. Moreover, the Greek cultural tradition eventually became an integral part of it, because of such interaction there was a gradual transition from “Jewish” to “Hellenistic” Christianity, which first became the main state religion of the Roman Empire, and then one of the world religions.

The article deals with some psychological aspects of modern fundamentalism. In research literature this phenomenon is traditionally understood as a reaction to secularization, secularism and modernism. However, as illustrated in this article, today it is rather a response to pluralism and relativism in search of “meanings” and “foundations” of being in the context of worldview uncertainty/ “new boundlessness” (J. Habermas). Due to this background and new tasks modern fundamentalism is substantially transformed. It does no longer emphasize the returning to the “foundations” of religion: sacred texts, theological basis of the doctrine (orthodoxy) or to the religious and civilizational foundations of unity. It desires restoration or a new creation of the “proper”, taken on faith, understanding of the reality after the relativization. Therefore it may not refer only to the religious movements but also to the secular ideologies. This new quality of the modern fundamentalism allows to interpret/understand it metaphorically as the “mania of the foundations”, which is an additional optics and a theoretical and methodological toolkit for studying religious fundamentalism in the context of transformation of religion in general.

This paper is concerned with the analysis of the current state of cooperation in the field of fisheries in the NEA region in two main areas: seafood trade and the exchange of fishing quotas. The author analyzed three types of sources: statistical data, documents and reports of official institutions and data collected from the news agencies archives. The author has come to the conclusion that cooperation in the field of fisheries between the Northeast Asia countries in these areas is developing very actively. The main actors are Russia, Japan, South Korea and China, while Mongolia and the DPRK, due to various factors, do not actively participate in it. Taiwan's participation in this interaction has not been considered due to lack of reliable information from the sources available to the author. Within the framework of the current model of interaction in this area in the Northeast Asia, Russia remains to be the largest supplier of raw materials; China is a major producer and consumer of seafood, while South Korea and Japan are engaged in advanced processing of raw materials or products from Russia and China of primary processing. In the domestic markets of South Korea and Japan there is a great demand for seafood. Unfortunately, because of the sanctions of the UN Security Council DPRK cannot realize its potential in the field of cooperation in fisheries to the full.

The article analyzes youth participation in protests in the province from 2015 to 2021. The aim of the research is to determine the level of protest potential of the provincial youth in modern Russia. The study takes a historical and comparative methods. In the course of research, the author comes to the conclusion that in the modern context the involvement of young people in the protest discourse takes place through network technologies, which are actively used by interested opposition actors. On the one hand, young people in provincial areas, where critical thinking is less developed, may be vulnerable to such signals. On the other hand, protest discourse in local spaces rarely develops further because of the pervasive political culture

The philosophical conception of British scholar of religion Ninian Smart (1927–2001) is analyzed. Its most significant elements, such as the model of doctrinal schemes, the principle of federalism of worldviews and the methodology of informed empathy are indicated. The philosophy of worldviews, which the author proposed as a replacement for the philosophy of religion to study the totality of significant secular systems of ideas and religions, which are combined by Smart into a single category of worldviews, is outlined. It is stated that the ambiguity of the goals and objectives of such a philosophy, as well as its similarity with religious studies, was criticized. The role of the concept of worldviews and the model of seven dimensions of religion within the framework of Smart's holistic concept, which focuses on the lack of crucial differences between secular and religious worldviews, is indicated. The importance of a dialogue of religions and reflection about the types of religious experience for understanding his research approach is demonstrated. It is concluded that Smart's approach included the following aspects: the principle of methodological agnosticism, support of the pluralism of worldviews, special attention to the transcendent, the development of a global dimension of study worldviews, the rejection of reductionism in the study of religion and its reduction only to theism. It is emphasized that the scholar attempted to streamline the structure of religious discourse and his concept can be considered as some kind of combination of the methodologies of religious studies and philosophy of religion.

The article analyzes cultural and historical determinants of the formation of the Bulgarian national geopolitical conscience; these include Turkish, Russian and Macedonian complexes, with the European one to have recently been added. The author argues that external perception of Bulgaria has had a significant impact on the development of the Bulgarian national geopolitical conscience, notably if to take into consideration involvement of intellectual elites and general public of major foreign powers into the Bulgarian national liberation movement. In this respect, attention has been drawn to foreign ethnographic maps, which in the view of Bulgarians are an important argument for providing a rationale for the national geopolitical ideal of “Great Bulgaria”.
