This article substantiates the possibility of using the material of temple architecture in studies of religious perceptions of man. In studying the religious teachings of man, we rely on the religious anthropology of K. I. Nikonov. We also used the methodology of L. Jones's "hermeneutics of sacred architecture" and A. Corben's temenology to study temple structures and sacred spaces. Our approach allowed us to explore believers' understanding of temple architecture as a self-understanding. It has been shown that temple architecture can be used to reconstruct the history of religious teachings on man, as well as to deepen philosophical knowledge of the essence, structure, and basic aspects of believers' understanding of themselves.

The article analyzes a protest activity as one of the areas of political activity of young people in modern Russian society. The purpose of the study is to explore the attitude towards the opposition and the oppositional potential of the youth of the Irkutsk region. The authors revealed that the portrait of an average young man in the Irkutsk region (in terms of his attitude to the opposition and protest potential) is as follows: he or she is a person who latently criticizes the authorities and expects changes, but whose political activity is below the average level.

In the article, based on a hermeneutic analysis of published sources, presented in numerous journalistic works of the founders of the ideology of the Siberian regionalism N. M. Yadrintsev and G.N. Potanin, the genesis of political discourse in this system of views is reconstructed. The author focuses on the early period of the formation of the political thought of regionalism, which came to a close. 1860s – early. 1870s It is shown that at that time an extensive discussion about the essence, nature and structure of the state unfolded. It has been established that decentralization, autonomy, federation built on the “bottom-up” principle and the concept of equality in relations between the center and the provinces are the paradigms that have acquired the level of political and philosophical generalizations in the works of the leaders of Siberian regionalism. Free self-government, the principle of legal equality of all parts of the state, taking into account the interests of the outskirts for the regionals were integral principles for building the state as an institution of joint and equal community of people. The article also notes that one of the first political science developments of the classics of regionalism was a sharp criticism of the state penitentiary policy of the Russian Empire. In particular, the political and economic vegetation of the Siberian region N. M. Yadrintsev associated with the miscalculations of the country's criminal policy.

The article analyzes the relationship between the renovationist and «Gregorian» church structures in Eastern Siberia in 1926-1934. The article examines the position of the central and local structures of the Provisional supreme church council in relation to renovationism, as well as the view of the renovationist Holy Synod on the «gregorian» schism in the Russian Orthodox Church. The article analyzes the information about the structures of the PSCC in the materials of the renovationist dioceses in Eastern Siberia, and also examines switching of the clergy and communities from the renovationism to the “gregorian” schism and vice versa in Eastern Siberia. The author came to the conclusion that in Eastern Siberia the “gregorian” schism did not pose a significant threat to renovationism, therefore, contacts were restricted to acceptance of the clergy and communities, as well as pronouncement of the status of the PSCC structures and the departure of communities and clerics to them.

The purpose of this study is to identify the functions of the concept of the political and to demonstrate its heuristic potential. The paper examines the concept of the political in its associative and dissociative interpretations. The phenomenon of the existence of the political and its dependence on the modern understanding of society is considered. Using M. Foucault's work, heuristic potential of the political is shown.

The purpose of this article is to review various opinions of Soviet scientists about mental health of shamans. The task of this paper is to analyse a wide range of Soviet sources on shamanism, identify their attitude to “shamanic madness” and possible reasons for its formation, and compare positions of different authors on the subject. The following methods were used: comparative, causal analysis, historicism, and typological methods. In modern Russia, there is a preconceived opinion about the sharply negative attitude to religion in the Soviet era. In the USSR, there was indeed active antireligious propaganda, but it is an exaggeration to say that it represents the entire complex layer of relations between representatives of different faiths and Soviet institutions. Soviet science was based on the aspiration for objective knowledge of the world. This also applied to the primitive beliefs that existed at that time in the Northern and Eastern regions of the country, in particular shamanism. This article deals with the issue of shamanic initiatory sickness and shamanic activities based on communication with spirits. On this issue, there was a lively debate – whether these diseases are the result of psychological abnormalities or have a different origin. The article provides a wide range of sources about shamanism and the personality of the shaman, from the works of exiled revolutionaries to professional researchers done in the 80s. The main theories about the reasons for the shaman's ritual behaviour are briefly presented. The dependence of scientists' representation of the shamans during the development of Soviet state and science is shown.

The processes of globalization taking place in our time are not the spread of “global culture”, still remaining a battleground for imposition of certain values by large cultural and historical subjects – civilizations. This struggle takes place at three interrelated levels: economic, political and cultural. These levels are associated with various values of cultural and historical subjects based on their cultural code. Values of a cultural code determine the development of the cultural and historical subject limiting the ability to make decisions. It is also important to note that economic and political values in particular are the most “flexible”, as they are on the line of interaction with other cultural and historical subjects. In this regard, it is important to understand what political values the subject had in its historical development, what values it has now and will promote in the near future. This can be learned by analyzing political values in youth. Russia is one of such subjects with its own set of values. In order to find out what will form the policy of such cultural and historical entity as Russia in the near future, the author has analyzed the results of the study aimed at identifying political values of the Russian youth carried out by an interuniversity group of scientists. Basic political values of the youth were identified and the interpretation of the results was proposed.

Political relations between Russia and China have always had ambiguous consequences for the dynamics of indicators of foreign trade relations at both national and regional levels. For cross-border regions, to which the Irkutsk Region belongs, explicit and implicit political and economic "vibrations" between countries, in connection with Russia's special military operation in Ukraine, in turn, directly and indirectly affect the state of the region's trade with the provinces of the PRC. The Irkutsk Region has long been one of the centers of polarization of foreign trade relations with the Northeastern Provinces of the People's Republic of China. But given the high degree of importance of further implementation of the "eastern direction" of the foreign trade policy of the Russian Federation due to the increasing deconstruction of international economic relations “West-East” for the Irkutsk region, the question of its place, role and status in the trends of Russian-Chinese discourse in the near and medium term is being actualized to determine the prospects for the development of the external economic space of the Irkutsk region. The article analyzes the dynamics of foreign trade relations between the Irkutsk region and the provinces of China in order to identify regional traditionally inertial and corrective factors for further adaptation of the region in the conditions of geopolitical and geo-economic transformation of relations between Russia and China. Based on the results of the study, conclusions are formulated about the emerging contradictions between the level of production capabilities and economic needs in bilateral relations between the Irkutsk Region and the Northeastern Provinces of the PRC, which nevertheless do not prevent the preservation of the leading positions of the Irkutsk region relative to other regions of the eastern economic zone, but suggest the intensification of existing ties and their geographical diversification.
